One of my most highly-anticipated titles on the 2025 movie schedule is most definitely the highly anticipated Wicked: For Good. To say that I was blown away by its predecessor would be an understatement. I've even been poring over the foreshadowing details I noticed during my rewatch of the first film. Considering all of that, I'm hyped to see the first look at the sequel's poster, which shows off Ariana Grande's new Glinda costume.
Starting on Monday, attendees of Las Vegas' CinemaCon will be treated to previews of some of the biggest movies of the coming year. Just ahead of the convention's start, a journalist for Cinepop spotted the official first poster of Wicked: For Good on one of the elevators. Take a look:
How gorgeous is that?! Cinepop shared a photo of a banner to X as well. The breathtaking poster once again features Cynthia Erivo (who wore practical green makeup) as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda, but it's clear some time has passed. Elphaba is on the left of the poster and can be seen sporting a new, black costume and the same hat Glinda gave her during the 'Dancing Through Life' sequence. She's also holding her broom. But I am especially floored by Grande's pink and blue gown. She's fully Glinda-fied!
Now, we've already seen the actress take on Glinda from the original The Wizard of Oz when she wore that stunning pink dress at the beginning of Wicked. Yet this look is just another level of beauty. I especially love the sleeves that stick up and translucent sleeves. Jon M. Chu's film won Best Costume Design at the Oscars this year, and it's clear Paul Tazewell put in serious work.

As for the overall poster, it shows the two lead characters standing on different ledges to symbolize how they'll be living different lives in different regions of Oz after their falling out. The tagline is also 'You will be changed' which is perfect given its lyrics from their Act II song 'For Good.'
Other details to note are the yellow brick road between them and the flying monkeys in the background of the scene. I'm, of course, instantly jealous of what the CinemaCon attendees will likely see of the second movie when Universal holds its showcase. But, since CinemaBlend will be in attendance, you'll get to hear about what's ultimately screened this coming next. During last year's presentation, the studio brought out Erivo and Grande, Jon M. Chu and other cast members along with the first footage from the movie.
Chu has been teasing Wicked: For Good, and I've been very excited to see how the filmmakers and cast adapt the second half of the Broadway musical. So, while I don't need a poster to get me excited, the sight of the new costumes, especially Grande's mesmerizing gown, definitely amps up my anticipation levels. Be sure to check out the film when it opens in theaters on November 21.

Tyler Perry Calls Out Hollywood Studios at BET Awards: 'This Is Not the Time to Be Silent'

Tyler Perry threw some subtle shade towards Hollywood studios at the 2025 BET Awards. Before Ledisi took the stage to perform 'BLKWMN,' the Sistas creator took time to share a short story about himself and his son walking along the beach, when his child said to him, 'I'm walking in your footsteps,' to which he responded, 'I said, 'No, let's walk together.' We walked to the end of the beach and then he looked back and he saw all the footprints that he had left.' Don't miss this,' Perry said. 'They are removing our books from libraries, they are removing our stories and our history, they are removing our names from government buildings. It's as if someone wants to erase our footprints.' The mogul added, 'But the truth of the matter, it's impossible to erase our footprints because we left them on water. What I mean by that is, we were snatched from our homeland, brought across the ocean and left footprints all the way to America.' Perry asserted that 'this is not the time to be silent, this is not the time to give up — this is the time to dig in and keep leaving footprints everywhere you go.' The Madea's Family Reunion writer then called out studios in Los Angeles. 'I can tell you this, I have made more Black millionaires, hear me when I say this, than any studio in this city combined,' he said. 'Because I'm making footprints. So I don't care if you're struggling, if you're trying to make it, you're trying to build a business, if you have a dream, keep making footprints. Don't let anybody stop you, you can do it.' Earlier in his speech, Perry also thanked Black women for supporting his work over the years. 'I think about my incredible audience who's a lot of men, a lot of women, but hear me when I tell you this, Black women have held me down and I appreciate you like you would not believe,' he added. Heading into Monday night, Kendrick Lamar topped the nomination list with 10 nods, with Doechii, Future, GloRilla, Future and Drake following close behind with six noms each. The 'Yeah Glo!' rapper, too, served as one of the night's performers alongside Lil Wayne, Teyana Taylor, Playboi Carti and Leon Thomas. Netflix's new thriller series has netted a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes — I can absolutely see why

When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. I've been completely hooked on the new crime thriller, The Survivors, since it landed on Netflix last week and it seems I'm not the only one who enjoyed the series, as the show has also now landed a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The six-part series, based on the bestseller by Jane Harper, is set in the fictional seaside town of Evelyn Bay in Tasmania and follows Kieran Elliot, whose life was changed forever 15 years ago when his brother and best friend drowned while trying to rescue him from a terrible storm. While the small town was rocked by the terrible tragedy, a young woman called Gabby also went missing on the same night. However, this is a mystery that no one in the local area seems to talk about. But why? For any show to earn a perfect rating on Rotten Tomatoes is no easy task, but I can see why The Survivors has been awarded this honor. From the very first episode, I found myself gripped by the chillingly dark story, and the series really kicks off with a bang when, in the present day, Bronte, a woman from out of town comes to investigate what happened to Gabby on the fateful day she vanished a decade and a half ago. However, it soon transpires that there is someone in the town harbouring dark secrets and willing to go to unimaginable lengths to keep hidden when Brontë's digging into the past leads to her turning up dead on the beach. But who has killed her and what did she unearth that got her murdered? Soon, a complex web of secrets and lies is revealed and this show is one that will keep you guessing right until the very end of the series. Just when you think you have worked out where the storyline is going, another fresh twist hits you, and you're left questioning everyone and everything once again. If you are yet to watch The Survivors, make sure this is one show you add to your watch list - I promise you won't regret it. All six episodes of The Survivors ware available on Netflix worldwide now.

Music reviews: Tune-Yards and PinkPantheress

When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. ★★★ Though Tune-Yards' sixth album probably won't top any sales charts, "it will definitely make you get up and dance," said Attila Peter in The Line of Best Fit. Merrill Garbus and Nate Brenner, partners in both music and life, "have always been adventurous and uncompromising, showing an eclecticism that draws from African, folk, electronic, rap, and even classical music." But the result is always a form of pop, easy on the ears even when Garbus is singing, as she does here, about all that's happening in the world that infuriates her. "Full of pulsating beats and hypnotic grooves," this latest album is "bursting with an energy and joy that is impossible to resist." If there's a complaint to be made here, it's that the music "backgrounds the songs' meanings," said Andy Crump in Paste. But "there are worse problems for an album to have," especially when "the music is so catchy that repeat plays are practically inevitable." Eventually, you will realize that Garbus is venting her anger about America's current turn toward corrupt authoritarianism. At that point, it may also strike you that Better Dreaming is one of this band's "all-time great records." ★★★ Four years ago, PinkPantheress's music "felt like a future of pop," said Jem Aswad in Variety. The young British singer-songwriter-producer crafted fleet "microsongs" that packed verses, a chorus, and a bridge into 90 seconds, making them immensely TikTok friendly. Thankfully, her new eight-song mixtape avoids the more conventional sound of 2023's Heaven Knows and recaptures her strengths: "tight hooks, fast tempos, skittering beats, percolating bass," plus "her inimitable, breathy vocals." The songs "blaze by in less than 20 minutes," but "pack a velvet-gloved punch." The music doesn't sound like the future, said Harry Tafoya in Pitchfork. Instead, "Fancy That is a portal into an alternate universe where U.K. garage successfully crossed the Atlantic and fashion froze in 2006." It opens with "Illegal," a song that, like many of this 24-year-old artist's best, is "musically busy" and "charmingly conversational." Nothing that follows slips into the "daydreaming detours" of her 2023 release. PinkPantheress "has never been more ready to dance," making Fancy That her "most exciting and fully realized release yet."
