Watch: Amid Trade Rumours, Samson's Epic Rajasthan Royals Comment Leaves Ashwin Speechless
Sanju Samson may leave Rajasthan Royals for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2026. Ravichandran Ashwin also wants to leave CSK. They discussed this on Ashwin's YouTube channel.
Is Sanju Samson willing to part ways with the Rajasthan Royals and move to Chennai? Speculations have been rife about the Indian wicketkeeper-batter making a crucial move ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. Several reports have also suggested that former Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has expressed his desire to leave Chennai Super Kings. However, there is nothing concrete about the matter, while the media reports have been adding fuel to the fire.
Just as the rumours were gaining momentum, Sanju and Ashwin sat down for a chat on the latter's YouTube channel. While the full episode — Kutti Stories with Ash, Season 3, Episode 4 — has yet to be released, a couple of trailers have generated excitement among fans.
In the latest trailer, Ashwin asked Samson what he would like to change if he had a time machine. The latter's teasing left the veteran cricketer speechless with his reply. Samson said he would change the decision of the Rajasthan Royals to release Ashwin ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auctions.
'I'll give you a time machine. Have you seen the Tamil movie, 'Indru Netru Naalai'? So, you can go back in time. If you are asked to change a decision, which incident would that be in your life?" Ashwin asked.
In reply, Samson said, 'I think, not retaining Ash Bhai."
Ashwin was left speechless while Samson burst into laughter.
'I'm telling the truth only. We went for you till 9.5 crore (in the mega auctions)," Samson said, getting Ashwin's agreement.
Both Ashwin and Samson were part of the Rajasthan Royals till IPL 2024. However, ahead of the mega auctions, the franchise retained Samson and released Ashwin with 17 others. The off-spinner then bagged a CSK contract worth Rs 9.75 crore and returned to the franchise after 8 years.

To note, War 2 and Coolie have clashed at the box office as both released today (August 14) on big screens. Along with Rajinikanth aka Thalaiva, Coolie boasts many prominent stars like Soubin Shahir, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj and Aamir Khan. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Coolie has received an A certification from the Censor Board. Apart from Tamil, the movie is also released in Telugu, Hindi and Kannada languages.
