Amanda Seyfried Hints ‘Jennifer's Body 2' Is in the Works: ‘I Think We're Making Another One'

Amanda Seyfried is on board for any 'Jennifer's Body' sequel, which could come sooner than later. The actress, though not confirming the film, told Bloody Disgusting that a 'Jennifer's Body 2' could be in the works soon.
'I think we're making another one,' Seyfried said while on the red carpet for 'Seven Veils.' 'I didn't confirm it! I said, 'I think.'' IndieWire has reached out to representatives for Seyfried, screenwriter Diablo Cody, and director Karyn Kusama for further comment.

'Jennifer's Body' was released in 2009. While the feature barely broke even at the box office, the now-iconic film is considered to be a feminist horror classic. Seyfried stars as Needy, whose best friend Jennifer (Megan Fox) is the high school queen bee. However, after Jennifer is sacrificed by the lead singer (Adam Brody) of a band touring through town, she is left as a half-girl, half-demon who feasts on unsuspecting boys to survive.
Academy Award-winning screenwriter Diablo Cody told Bloody Disgusting in 2024 that she is 'not done' with the world of 'Jennifer's Body' during its 15-year anniversary. 'I want to do a sequel. I am not done with 'Jennifer's Body,'' Cody said. 'I need to partner with people who believe it in [sic] as much as I do and that hasn't really happened yet. I need someone to believe in it who has a billion dollars.'
In 2024 while talking about her 'Lisa Frankenstein' script, Cody told IndieWire about renewed interest in a potential 'Jennifer Body's' sequel. 'I had no idea people would get so excited about that,' Cody said. 'I was delighted to see the response, I'm going to clip those articles and show them to all the people who are like, 'We don't think this is such a good idea.' Bring it into the people that I need to green light it.'
She told IndieWire that the renewed chatter around a potential sequel really excited her. 'It's the best thing that's ever happened to me in my career, it's like total validation,' she said of the continued fandom around the film. 'It came late, I'm OK with that, I've made my peace with that. I went through a lot when that movie came out, just personal attacks. It was about more than just the movie. … I always believed in it, but I did lose my confidence. If people hadn't rediscovered 'Jennifer's Body,' I would not have written 'Lisa Frankenstein.' With that whole area, that genre, I kind of felt unwelcome in it, because I had flopped so hard on my last attempt.'
Meanwhile, Seyfried next stars in Mona Fastvold's upcoming 'Ann Lee' musical, which centers on the founder of the Shaker Movement in the late 1770s. The musical biopic is co-written by Fastvold and her 'The Brutalist' collaborator and real-life partner Brady Corbet.
Seyfried told Vanity Fair that shooting Fastvold and Corbet's secret indie film after wrapping the upcoming Peacock limited series 'Long Bright River,' was tough. 'I went to hell and back,' Seyfried said of the demanding back-to-back projects. 'Oh, my God. What the fuck? Even my assistant's like, 'You need to take a break,'' Seyfried said. 'We could only do ['Ann Lee'] in the summer. … We moved everybody to Budapest, including my dog. Then we did a crazy thing. We did a crazy thing.' She added of the musical, 'I don't know how it's going to turn out.'

Netflix Has Both 'Happy Gilmore' Movies Right Now, but Not for Long

The biggest original film to arrive on Netflix in July was undoubtedly Happy Gilmore 2. The Adam Sandler sequel was 30 years in the making and marks the return of one of his most iconic characters, Happy Gilmore, a Boston Bruins-obsessed hockey fan who turns his mean slapshot into a professional golf career. Happy Gilmore 2 premiered on Netflix on July 25, and features most of the original film's cast. Sandler is joined by Julie Bowen, Christopher McDonald, Dennis Dugan and Ben Stiller, all of whom reprise their roles from the first movie. Sadly, some members of the original 1996 cast, including Bob Barker and Carl Weathers, have died, but new characters played by Bad Bunny, Kym Whitley and Benny Safdie debuted in the sequel. With so much hype around the new release, it makes sense that fans are clamoring to revisit the original, which dropped on Netflix July 1 and is currently in the Netflix Top 10. But you'll have to act fast if you want to watch the comedy classic on Netflix -- that's because Happy Gilmore will no longer be streaming there after July 31. But, when one door closes, another opens, while you may not be able to watch the original on Netflix after this week, the good news is that it'll arrive on Starz on Friday, Aug. 1 so you can catch it there. You'll still be able to rent Happy Gilmore on platforms like Prime Video and Apple TV, too. So if you're gearing up for a Happy Gilmore weekend, fear not, you can still stream both films, as long as you know where to look.

UPDATED at 3.45 am PT… Tsunami warnings for Hawaii have been downgraded to an advisory, following an earlier alert calling for people on the U.S. island state to move to elevated ground in the wake of a massive earthquake off the Russian Pacific coast. The Department Of Emergency Management for Hawaii's main island of Oahu said, 'dangerous tsunami waves were no longer expected to impact the state', but urged caution along the coast. Use extreme caution when near or on the water,' it department said residents and visitors who evacuated could return home. Hawaii's airports had also reopened after been shut overnight, causing delays and cancellations for hundreds of flights. Passengers were advised to check with airlines. Tsunami alerts have also been eased for the the U.S. West Coast and Alaska as well as other countries on the Pacific Ocean including Japan, the Philippines, Indonesia, Guam, Peru and the Galapagos Islands, and parts of China. However, the National Weather Service for the Bay Area and Los Angeles continued to advise caution close to the water. The service for San Francisco said it was seeing tidal swings of 2 to 2.5 feet in as little as 15 minutes, which could create 'seriously dangerous currents: along beaches and harbors.' 'It's just a good idea to stay away from the water today!,' it said. Previously at 1.30am PT, July 30… Tsunami alerts have been issued for Hawaii, the U.S. West Coast and Alaska as well as Japan the Philippines, Indonesia, Guam, Peru and the Galapagos Islands, and parts of China following a massive earthquake in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Russia. The Department Of Emergency Management for Hawaii's main island of Oahu, which is home to the state capital of Honolulu, issued a warning at 6.15pm local time (9.15 pm PT) warning people in the city and surrounding areas to get to 'higher elevations'. It said the first waves were expected to arrive around 7.17pm local time (10.17pm PT). The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center reported around that time that a 5.7ft (1.7m) wave had been recorded on Hawaii's second largest island of Maui, while a 4.9ft (1.5m) wave was recorded in Hailo. 'This is a moment in time when people need to prioritize the safety of their families,' said Mayor Rick Blangiardi from the City and County of Honolulu's Emergency Operations Center. 'We need everyone to take this situation seriously, act accordingly, evacuate inundation zones, and listen to first responders. We are asking everyone to remain calm and be safe. Mahalo.' The earthquake off Russia's Far Eastern Kamchatka Peninsula, which triggered the tsunami warnings, measured 8.8 on the Richer scale. Russian scientists said it most strongest quake to hit the region since 1952. The Hawaii Film Office, which oversees shoots on the popular filming location, also posted a link on its website to the islands' Emergency Management Agent, which in turn advises on safety measures and food security in the event of severe flooding. There were no updates at this stage on the implications for film and TV shoots as the islands braced for potential big waves. The U.S. National Weather Service issued a wider Tsunami warning which also included portions of Alaska, Guam, American Samoa, and the West Coast of the U.S. It called on people on the West Coast to avoid beaches, harbours and marinas, with waves expected to reach San Francisco and California in the early hours of the morning. U.S. President Donald Trump also issued an warning on his realDonaldTrump handle, calling on people to visit the country's Tsunami control for updates. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry £78m Netflix update after show 'flop'

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will continue to work with Netflix despite 'With Love, Meghan' not performing too well on the platform, an insider has said. Meghan's wholesome show ranked 383 in the platform's most-watched titles between January and June 2025. It attracted 5.3million viewers worldwide since it was first broadcast in March and showed Meghan cooking, gardening and hosting A-list pals. READ MORE: Foreign Office warns UK tourists to 'follow orders' as 3,500 forced to leave However, it was outperformed by hundreds of lesser-known shows in the first six months of this year including repeats of Meghan's old TV drama, Suits, in which she starred before meeting Harry. PR expert Dermot McNamara believes Netflix won't sever ties with the Sussexes just yet, as they will want first dibs on that explosive first interview, should the couple ever divorce. He told The Mirror: "The fairytale narrative has stalled, their creative output hasn't delivered consistent returns and audiences are increasingly sceptical. "There are only so many chances Netflix can take on them, before they're just wasting money for the sake of it. 'But Netflix knows that if cracks appear, or if the couple split, there'll be global demand for the inside story. That's when their value skyrockets again.' Dermot believes Netflix will want to be 'at the front of the queue' should the couple eventually go their separate ways. He said: 'The sense in industry circles is that Netflix haven't cut ties with Harry and Meghan entirely because, frankly, they might be sitting on the most valuable content of all: the fallout. 'Rumours of their Netflix contract not being renewed when it runs out in September is a quiet signal that the platform is no longer banking on them as creative talent, but they're keeping the relationship warm. "Why? Because if the Sussex marriage ever unravels, it would be the streaming coup of the decade. It's a brutal calculation, but this is Hollywood.' It is not the first time that Harry, 40, and Meghan, 43, have faced rumours that their seven-year marriage is on the rocks. Last December, Harry addressed the speculation and said it was 'hard to keep up with' the allegations made on social media. He added: "'Apparently we've bought or moved houses 10, 12 times,' he said at The New York Times' DealBook Summit. "We've apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well. So it's just like, what?' During her first-ever podcast interview on The Jamie Kern Lima Show in April, Meghan was asked if she believes that she and Harry will 'be married forever'. She said: 'Yes. He's also a fox, if you haven't noticed. My husband's very, very handsome. But his heart is even more beautiful. "There's something that is not to be taken for granted when you have a partner and a spouse who is just so behind you. "You know, I mean, H, that man loves me so much. And you know, look what we built. We've built a beautiful life, and we have two healthy, beautiful children [Archie and Lilibet].'
