(Video) Gillian Chung Chows Down On Chicken Wings & Roti Tisu While In KL

International celebrities who visit Malaysia know that there's one thing everyone should do while in town: eat to your heart's content. While in Kuala Lumpur to film a show, Hong Kong star Gillian Chung (钟欣潼) made sure to try as much local food as possible before her trip ended. The singer recently shared a short vlog on her social media, documenting the last day of her recent visit to KL. According to reports, Gillian was in town to film for the upcoming Astro variety show, 'Beauty Fafa (营业吧!花花)'. Of course, while in Malaysia, the star couldn't help but check out the local food scene. In the video, Gillian and her staff members visited Alor Street and dined at a local Chinese restaurant. The star also revealed that she has dined at the restaurant many times, hinting that the food there is good. The next scene then shows a table full of dishes, including grilled stingray, satay, and grilled chicken wings. After inviting the crowd to dine in, Gillian then devoured the dishes without hesitation. While there were many food choices on the table, the singer said her favourite was the grilled chicken wings. However, Gillian's food diary didn't stop there. Upon returning to her hotel room, the star's staff members surprised her with a Roti Tisu tower that was half her height. While the 44-year-old was unsure at first, she grabbed a small piece for her first try of the iconic Malaysian dish. Immediately after tasting the Roti Tisu, Gillian's face lit up and she exclaimed, 'That tastes so good!'. She then went in for a second bite, showing her approval of the dish. In the comments, fans expressed glee over Gillian's food vlog, saying they enjoy seeing her eat with gusto. Some also cooed over her cute expressions while eating her chicken wings and trying the Roti Tisu. Fans also praised her beauty and youthful looks, noting that she looked like she could be in her twenties. At the same time, local fans also invited her to return to Malaysia more often to try other dishes. We also hope to see Gillian back in Malaysia soon. Maybe she can create a longer food vlog the next time she's in town. Man City's Grealish joins Everton on season-long loan

LONDON: Manchester City winger Jack Grealish joined Everton on loan for the 2025-26 season on Tuesday in a bid to salvage his troubled career. Grealish fell out of favour with City boss Pep Guardiola last season and made just seven starts in the Premier League. The 29-year-old was left out of City's squad for the Club World Cup in the United States in a clear indication that he was no longer wanted by Guardiola. Everton's deal for Grealish, who earns a reported £300,000 (US$402,000) per week, comes just before the new Premier League campaign starts for the Toffees at Leeds on August 18. "I'm over the moon to have signed for Everton - it's massive for me, honestly. This is a great club, with great fans," Grealish said. Grealish has chosen the number 18 shirt at Everton in tribute to Wayne Rooney and Paul Gascoigne, who wore it during their time with the club. "My two favourite English players ever are Wayne Rooney and Paul Gascoigne and I know they both wore number 18 here," he said. "I spoke to Wayne before I came here and I mentioned that to him - about the number 18 - so I hope he's happy as well." Grealish joined City from Aston Villa in 2021 for a then British record fee of £100 million. The England international has won three Premier League titles, the Champions League and the FA Cup with City, but his form had dipped significantly since he played a key role in the 2022-23 treble-winning campaign. He was left out of England's Euro 2024 squad, an omission that left him "heartbroken." Guardiola rarely picked Grealish last season despite City's struggles and he was left on the bench for the shock FA Cup final defeat against Crystal Palace. Amid concerns about his personal life after repeated reports of alcohol-fuelled late nights, Grealish will have a chance to revive his spluttering career at Everton and potentially earn a recall to the England squad ahead of next year's World Cup. "As soon as I spoke to the manager, I knew there was only one place that I wanted to go," Grealish said. "On social media, I've been flooded with messages from Everton supporters, so there's that side of it as well and that's another reason why I chose Everton. "I want to say thank you to the fans for all of the messages I've had already. Thank you for all of the love and support. I hope I can repay you now and I'm sure I will." Everton recently left Goodison Park to move into their new Hill Dickinson stadium ahead of the season, with Grealish set to take centre stage in the plush arena. He ranks as Everton's biggest signing since the end of last season after a quiet summer in the transfer market for boss David Moyes. "We welcome Jack to Everton and we're very pleased to have him on board," Moyes said. "I think we're getting him at a good time because he's experienced, he understands the Premier League and we're all fully aware of the levels he's capable of performing to.

KBS seeks funds for young motorsport talent, supports Malaysian MotoGP

KUALA LUMPUR: The Youth and Sports Ministry (KBS) plans to request additional funding from the Finance Ministry to support young motorsport talents such as Hakim Danish Ramli. Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh emphasised the need for corporate backing to sustain the growth of Malaysian riders on both local and international stages. 'Motorsport is not a cheap sport, and this investment takes time,' she said. Yeoh urged stakeholders to support efforts to secure more funding for Hakim Danish, who requires substantial financial backing for his races this season. The 17-year-old rider is aiming for a wild card entry in the upcoming MotoGP race at Sepang. Regarding the Malaysian MotoGP hosting contract, Yeoh confirmed the ministry's commitment to keeping the event in Sepang beyond next year. 'Whenever there is an extension, Sepang International Circuit (SIC) will apply to the government, and we will prepare a Cabinet paper,' she said. She highlighted the government's strong support for MotoGP due to its positive impact on tourism and local engagement. - Bernama
