BREAKING: Alabama has landed the commitment of 7-footer Noah Williamson, a transfer center from Bucknell, sources told @On3sports.

The college basketball transfer portal isn't even two weeks old, but we're already starting to see several players commit to their future destinations.
Ellliot Cadeau, who ran point for the North Carolina Tar Heels over the past two season, committed to Michigan a week after entering the transfer portal. Donovan Dent, the reigning Mountain West Player of the Year and a 20-point scorer, chose UCLA after previously talking to UNC.
One of North Carolina's greatest portal needs is a big man, who'll be playing alongside incoming 5-star power forward Caleb Wilson in the frontcourt.
Unfortunately for the Tar Heels, it's now out of the running for 7-foot center Noah Williamson. After previous reports noted the Tar Heels looking at Williamson, the reigning Patriot League Player of the Year chose Alabama.
Sound familiar? Cliff Omoruyi, a 6'11" center who played his first four years of college basketball at Rutgers, chose Alabama three days after visiting UNC during the 2024 offseason.
Williamson, who averaged a career-high 17.6 points, 7.6 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game with the Bucknell Bison during the 2024-2025 college basketball season, can do pretty much anything on the court. He's a 7-footer who can knock down threes (31.8% last year), but can also punish you in the pain with his towering frame.
It doesn't matter what kind of big man North Carolina gets in the transfer portal, it just matters that North Carolina secures a commitment. The Tar Heels struck out on all the top-end talent during 2024, but enjoyed a late-season breakout from Ven-Allen Lubin, en route to the 2025 NCAA Tournament.

SEC announces complete 2025-26 basketball schedule

The Oklahoma basketball team and the rest of the Southeastern Conference know who is on their league slates this 2025-26 basketball season after the league announced the conference schedule on Wednesday. Every team in the league will play the other at least once, and each team will get three opponents twice. Two of those three are considered permanent rivals, while the third will change each year. For the Sooners, the permanent rivals are Texas and Missouri. All three formerly played in the Big 12. Missouri left for the SEC for the 2012-13 academic year, while OU and Texas joined the SEC last year. The Sooners finished the 2024-25 season 20-14 overall and 6-12 in conference play. They made the NCAA Tournament for the first time since the 2020-2021. Here's a look at the schedule for Oklahoma basketball thus far, including the full SEC schedule. Texas A&M's 2025 schedule considered one of the Top 10 toughest slates per USA TODAY

Texas A&M's 2025 schedule is considered one of the toughest slates in the SEC, as the Aggies will face LSU, Arkansas, Missouri, and Texas on the road, while their Week 3 rematch vs. Notre Dame in South Bend could define the program's season. For second-year head coach Mike Elko, last season's late-season failures on the road with consecutive losses at South Carolina and Auburn were too similar to the previous regime under Jimbo Fisher. On Wednesday, A&M's schedule was recognized as one of the toughest nationally, according to USA TODAY writer Jordan Mendoza, who released his top 10 most demanding college football schedules based on the recent US LBM preseason top 25 rankings. Texas A&M is No. 21 in the rankings, which was expected given the lack of national confidence in starting quarterback Marcel Reed. At the same time, the rest of the 2025 roster, including 14 transfer additions, is deep and talented enough to win nine or ten games, despite the schedule. While Florida's schedule is considered the toughest in the country, coming in at No. 1, Texas A&M's schedule is ranked 7th, primarily due to the road games I listed above. "The No. 21 ranked team in the preseason poll will be fighting all season to make sure it stays in the Top 25. The Aggies have a highly anticipated non-conference matchup on Sept. 13 at No. 5 Notre Dame. From there, there's four other ranked matchup sprinkled throughout the rest of the season, with No. 17 Florida visiting on Oct. 11 and a trip to face No. 9 LSU on Oct. 25. No. 13 South Carolina comes into town Nov. 15, and the season ends with the first trip to Austin since 2010 to play No. 1 Texas." Texas A&M needs to win at least one game between Notre Dame, LSU, and Texas, while defending home field against Florida and South Carolina is crucial to ending the regular season with a chance at reaching the playoff. Yes, Aggie fans would love revenge, especially on the road against Texas after last season's 17-7 loss in Kyle Field, but for that game to truly matter, outside of bragging rights, the path I laid out is the only way forward. Is Caitlin Clark playing tonight? Fever star's injury status vs Mercury

The Indiana Fever (17-13) return to play on Thursday at the Phoenix Mercury (18-11) in the final contest of a four-game road swing. Once again, the Fever will do so without star guard Caitlin Clark. Per WISH-TV's Angela Moryan, the second-year pro has officially been ruled out of her ninth straight regular season contest with her right groin injury. That now means Clark has missed 18 regular season games in 2025 with various injury ailments and 19 contests overall, including the WNBA Commissioner's Cup final. Clark's injury woes date to the preseason when she missed the Fever's opening preseason contest with a left leg injury. A subsequent left quadriceps injury cost Clark five games from May 28-June 10. Then a left groin injury sidelined Clark for four regular-season games and the WNBA Commissioner's Cup final. Limited to just 13 games thus far in 2025, Clark is averaging 16.5 points, 8.8 assists, 5 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game on 36.7% field goal shooting and 27.9% 3-point accuracy. While fans won't see Clark return just yet on Thursday night, it does sound like Clark is making positive progress. On Sunday, ESPN reporter Holly Rowe said that Clark has begun to ramp up her conditioning work with the team. "Well, Stephanie White did give us a small update on Caitlin that she has started some full-court running, full-speed running the last four or five days. Still not doing full basketball activities, but there has been some progress made recently," Rowe reported. In a recent "NBA Today" appearance, Fever head coach Stephanie White commented on Clark's status and indicated the franchise will continue to practice precaution. "Yeah, I mean, it's day-to-day right now. We're really just putting no timetable on it, going through the rehab process and then we want to reintegrate her from a strength and conditioning standpoint and then get her back to basketball activities. "So, we're taking it one day at a time, really slow-rolling it, slow playing it this time. She tried to come back a couple of times and just had setbacks along the way, so the most important thing for us is Caitlin's long-term health, getting her back to 100 percent before we put her back on the floor," White said. Indiana is trying to rediscover the win column after the Los Angeles Sparks snapped a five-game winning streak on Tuesday night in a 100-91 Fever loss. The Sparks moved their season series tally against the Fever to 3-0, all in games where Clark was absent with injury. Tipoff between the Fever and Mercury is set for 9 p.m. CT with the game set to stream on Amazon Prime.
