Bill Belichick says Jordon Hudson ‘doesn't have anything to do with UNC football'
'Alright so, I know that you're aware that your relationship with Jordon Hudson has been a headline over the last few months,' Williamson said. 'And all of the specifics aside, because I know a lot has come out in the last couple of days, how do you think that impacts your ability to coach this football team, if at all?'
'Yeah, you know, that's really off to the side,' Belichick replied. 'It's a personal relationship and she doesn't have anything to do with UNC football. I'm excited to be back in the coach's meetings and getting ready for June and then August when we get into training camp. So June will be a big recruiting month for us, and then August we'll start to get ready for the season.'

'I know that you're not on social media and you don't read as much as everybody else as seen,' Williamson told Belichick. 'But when it comes to having conversations with your players, have you been able to talk about any of those things and the specifics of what's going on off the field?'
'Yeah, no, I talk to the players, you know, when we meet with them and when they come into visit and so forth, sure,' Belichick replied.
'And how have those conversations gone?' Williamson asked.
'Yeah, great. Again, we want to make the players the best that they can be, provide them the best opportunity on and off the field, and that's what we're about at UNC and that's what we do best for every single player we have,' Belichick answered.

But several other concerns have surfaced following the awkward CBS taping, with UNC recently refuting a report from Meadowlark Media's Pablo Torre that Hudson was banned from the Tar Heels' football facility.

Torre — citing two unnamed sources at UNC — reported on his podcast, 'Pablo Torre Finds Out,' that Hudson was no longer welcome at the team facility. Torre stood by his initial report following UNC's statement.

UNC set to be on road for ACC/SEC Challenge
UNC set to be on road for ACC/SEC Challenge UNC is heading on the road to face off against Kentucky. Last season, the North Carolina Tar Heels played one of the toughest schedules in all of college basketball in their non-conference slate. And now, for the 2025-26 season, it looks like they will have a few blue blood programs on their slate. The Tar Heels are already scheduled to host Kansas in the final game of a home-and-home series but now we know they will also be in Lexington, Kentucky. Per Jon Rothstein, the Tar Heels will travel to face off against the Kentucky Wildcats as part of the ACC/SEC Challenge in 2025. This is the second-straight year the Tar Heels will be facing off against a preseason top 25 team in the challenge after they hosted Alabama in the Dean Dome a year ago. Kentucky is fresh off an impressive season under the first-year head coach Mark Pope. They should be one of the favorites in the SEC again this year. Here are the reported matchups for the event: There are some very intriguing matchups once again this year with Duke hosting the defending national champion Florida Gators. NC State will also head to Auburn to face off against Bruce Pearl and the Tigers. UNC's non-conference schedule is tough once again. Bill Belichick addresses ‘outside noise' after Jordon Hudson controversies
Bill Belichick said 'it is what it is' as far as any noise outside of football is concerned. Speaking Tuesday during a press conference, the first-year North Carolina football coach seemed nonchalant as he took questions from the media about his personal life, which includes 24-year-old girlfriend Jordon Hudson, and the fallout from his disastrous CBS interview to promote his new book, 'The Art of Winning.' 'Look, I'm really focused on doing my job here at North Carolina… that's my big focus,' Belichick responded when asked what the biggest misconception about him is amid the public interest in his personal life. 'Is there noise out there? We've always dealt with that. 5 First-year North Carolina head football coach Bill Belichick talks with the media and addresses 'outside noise' outside of football during a press conference at Chapel Hill on June 10, 2025. Belichick's book, which was released in May and made The New York Times' best sellers list, features a tribute to Hudson, whom he called his 'creative muse' and 'idea mill.' Bill Belichick says QB competition will be good
Bill Belichick says QB competition will be good Who will emerge as the winner of the UNC football QB competition? One of the biggest questions going into the 2025 season for the North Carolina Tar Heels will be at the quarterback position. UNC saw a revolving door last year, their first season without Sam Howell or Drake Maye since 2018. And as the Tar Heels struggled with consistency at that position a year go, they have a stronger depth chart going into this season. North Carolina addressed the position by adding Gio Lopez out of the transfer portal while also welcoming in freshmen Bryce Baker and Au'tori Newkirk. Max Johnson is also back after missing almost all of last season, suffering a leg injury in the week 1 win over Minnesota. Head coach Bill Belichick believes the competition will be good at the position and benefit the guys. "Well, again, at the quarterback position, we have five players there including the two freshmen who are coming in. Bryce is the only one that was here in the spring," Belichick said in his pre-Summer press conference via Inside Carolina. "Max was here, but wasn't able to participate much. And, of course, Gio is new. So I think, as we see the offense evolve, it'll obviously be reflective of how those quarterbacks do and how that position shapes up. So I think we have good competition there, and our offense is our offense, and we'll be able to adapt to whoever it is." With the quarterbacks having different skill sets, Belichick was asked if having multiple options impacts is quarterback philosophy. It doesn't seem to be a problem for him and the offense. "We've certainly had a lot of quarterbacks through the years with different skillsets, and we're able to work with all of them," Belichick said. "But we'll see how it all plays out. So right now, that position is one that we just don't have a lot of on-field experience with. And again, even though Max was here, he just wasn't able to participate in any of the team drills. So you know, it kind of also includes him, even though he's a very experienced player." As it stands right now, Lopez appears to be the favorite to be the starter, but the status of Johnson as well as how Baker does in camp could impact things. It's something to keep an eye on this Summer and as practices begin.
