UNC set to be on road for ACC/SEC Challenge UNC is heading on the road to face off against Kentucky.
Last season, the North Carolina Tar Heels played one of the toughest schedules in all of college basketball in their non-conference slate. And now, for the 2025-26 season, it looks like they will have a few blue blood programs on their slate.
The Tar Heels are already scheduled to host Kansas in the final game of a home-and-home series but now we know they will also be in Lexington, Kentucky. Per Jon Rothstein, the Tar Heels will travel to face off against the Kentucky Wildcats as part of the ACC/SEC Challenge in 2025.
This is the second-straight year the Tar Heels will be facing off against a preseason top 25 team in the challenge after they hosted Alabama in the Dean Dome a year ago. Kentucky is fresh off an impressive season under the first-year head coach Mark Pope. They should be one of the favorites in the SEC again this year.
Here are the reported matchups for the event:
There are some very intriguing matchups once again this year with Duke hosting the defending national champion Florida Gators. NC State will also head to Auburn to face off against Bruce Pearl and the Tigers.
UNC's non-conference schedule is tough once again. In addition to Kansas, they will also play Michigan State and Ohio State out of the Big Ten.

Notre Dame's secondary is among best in nation, according to Pro Football Focus College

Notre Dame's defense has earned yet another accolade, and we still haven't played a down of the 2025 college football season yet. Pro Football Focus College has the Fighting Irish secondary listed at third in their roundup of the top 10 secondaries. They're in the top five behind Texas and Alabama and ahead of Clemson and Ohio State. Advertisement This even with Xavier Watts and Benjamin Morrison headed to the NFL. The growth of players like Leonard Moore and Christian Gray, plus the return of veteran Adon Shuler and the addition of Devonta Smith from Alabama have PFF feeling good about the back end of Notre Dame's defense. Here's a bit of what PFF said: "The Fighting Irish made the national championship game last year off a dominant ground game and an elite secondary. Considering Notre Dame has PFF's No. 2 running back unit and our third-ranked secondary, that blueprint should remain the same in 2025." Let's hope that blueprint isn't just the same, but better. Alabama, fellow SEC power among finalists for top 2026 edge rusher

Alabama, fellow SEC power among finalists for top 2026 edge rusher According to a report from On3's Hayes Fawcett, one of the Alabama Crimson Tide's top defensive targets has now narrowed down his list of finalists to two. That prospect is 2026 edge rusher Khamari Brooks, who will now reportedly decide between Alabama and Georgia. According to Fawcett as well, Brooks has also canceled his remaining official visits to both Texas and USC. Per the 247Sports Composite recruiting rankings, Brooks is considered as the nation's No. 112 overall player in the 2026 class, as well as the No. 14 edge rusher nationally out of North Oconee High School in Georgia. The four-star prospect is also considered as the No. 13 overall player in the state of Georgia. Alabama's 2026 recruiting class currently ranks No. 49 nationally according to the 247Sports Team Rankings with only six commitments. Of those six, three come from the state of Georgia, while two are edge rushers in four-star's Jamarion Matthews and Kamhariyan Johnson, the latter of which recently shut down his recruitment. Steelers rookie QB Will Howard blown away by DK Metcalf's work ethic and leadership

Steelers rookie QB Will Howard blown away by DK Metcalf's work ethic and leadership It's hard not to be impressed with DK Metcalf — just ask Steelers rookie Will Howard. After Thursday's practice at mandatory minicamp, Howard couldn't stop praising the 6'4' Steelers receiver (courtesy of Steelers Live): 'I mean, just look at the guy. He's a specimen. He's something else. Just the way he covers ground in his strides — and the way that he works,' Howard said. 'You see a lot of guys like that — it's rare to see somebody that's willing to catch for a rookie quarterback on any route he needs. You know, 'Hey DK, can you go spot up a corner for me?' 'No problem.' He's super hardworking — just respectful, goes about his business, and a great dude too. If I make a good play, he's coming over to me and dapping me up. He's been awesome, man, and I'm excited to get to work with him.' Here's to hoping the young signal caller develops into the Steelers' long-term starting QB — and that the Howard-to-Metcalf connection is one fans can look forward to for years to come.
