The celebrity chef currently owns and operates two restaurants in the Langham hotel in London and four in Scotland.
Roux ran the world famous Le Gavroche in Mayfair after taking over from his father Albert 1993.
He ran the restaurant for decades until it sadly closed in January last year.
The culinary legend has now warned of the dire situation facing the UK food industry.
He said a slew of closures are imminent across the UK as restaurants struggle to keep afloat.
The former MasterChef judge said the situation was "so depressing" adding that well-known high end restaurants could be impacted.
He warned that "If we lose restaurants on the street corners, Britain will lose its identity".
The world famous chef went on to ask "Who would want to open a restaurant now?"
Born in Kent, Roux has worked as a chef since leaving school at 16, he trained in London, France and Hong Kong.
He has said operating the double Michelin starred restaurant in Mayfair had him working 90-hour weeks.
Roux closed Le Gavroche so he could "make time for a better work / life balance".
The famous two-star eatery opened in 1967 and was known for launching the careers of several world famous chefs.

Gordon Ramsay reportedly plans to open a restaurant at the site of Le Gavroche

It has been run by the Roux family since opening but will now reportedly be run by Gordon Ramsay.
Cooking legend and TV star Gordon Ramsay planned to take over the eatery when its closure was announced.
Ramsay worked at the French restaurant in the early days of his career under Roux's father in the 90s.
Famously Marco Pierre White and Marcus Wareing also did stints at Le Gavroche.
The restaurant even served the late queen on her 90th birthday.
Ramsay is now set to take over the site of Le Gavroche at 43 Upper Brook Street.
Gordon Ramsay secured a 15-year lease on the site with one of his companies acquiring the licence.
Union Street Cafe successfully applied for a premises licence transfer of the Roux family restaurant in February.
Union Street Café is the trading name for Gordon Ramsay Restaurants, which operate Gordon Ramsay Street Pizza, Gordon Ramsay Street Burger, Lucky Cat and Bread Street Kitchen.
Matt Abé who has been at Le Gavroche for 16 years will reportedly be staying on under Ramsay.
More details on the fate of Le Gavroche are expected later this year.

Patsy Palmer leaves British Soap Awards co-stars aghast with Vagina monologue

EastEnders star Patsy Palmer stunned her British Soap Awards co-stars with her very crude speech while on stage as host Jane McDonald was left open mouthed Patsy Palmer had her soap colleagues' jaws on the floor with her crude speech on stage at the British Soap Awards. The EastEnders star picked up the Best Comedy Performance for her role as loudmouth Bianca Butcher. She made an epic comeback to the BBC soap in February as part of the 40th anniversary celebrations. However, Patsy's speech took an unexpected turn when she headed up on stage to collect her award. ‌ The glitzy do, which took place over the weekend but aired on TV last night, was hosted by Jane McDonald. She was so stunned by Patsy that she turned to face the camera with an open mouth. ‌ The TV favourite kicked off her cheeky speech: "Knock knock. Listen I haven't prepared a speech because I thought Jack [P. Shepherd] was going to win." She continued: "To be able to be funny and all of what we've seen tonight, is nothing short of a miracle really. I want to thank Shona McGarty for leaving, because if she hadn't have left, I wouldn't have come back." Patsy's speech soon took a turn as she admitted: "I wasn't expecting that and I'm so glad I did because I stayed for the 40th and that was really where we celebrated the woman's vagina. The actress then declared: "I think vagina's have always been funny." She was met with both shock and laughter from the audience as she also burst out laughing. However, Michelle Collins, who plays Cindy Beale, looked mortified while Ian Beale actor Adam Woodyatt appeared gobsmacked at Patsy's remark. The reference was, of course, to Sonia Fowler giving birth during the live 40th anniversary episode. ‌ Carrying on her speech, Patsy said: "All jokes aside, coming back to EastEnders after quite some time has been the most amazing experience for me. "I'm beyond grateful, I'm not going to cry because it's a comedy award, but you have no idea what a gift it has been for me to come back." ‌ When she left the stage, a baffled host Jane said: "I don't know quite what to say. How many times can you say vagina in one speech." Viewers also joked about the reason the award ceremony is not broadcast live as one said: "I mean perhaps they are given how many times Patsy Palmer said the word vagina in her acceptance speech!' Another added: 'I cannot wait to see what parts of Patsy Palmer's vagina tangent makes the tv broadcast.' Someone else commented: 'Happy Patsy Palmer Vagina Speech Day to all who celebrate.' It wasn't the first time Patsy left viewers stunned with her speeches, as some Celebrity Big Brother viewers felt awkward during her exit chat. She didn't seem impressed when quizzed on her clash with Mickey Rourke in the house before he was booted out for his shocking behaviour. ‌ Host Will said: "There were a few tricky moments that you had to deal with in there, people complaining about broccoli - that was one, but you seemed to move past that?" Patsy shook her head as she refused to say anything. Will asked: "You don't want to talk about the broccoli?" While Patsy remained silent, AJ added: "Did it upset you that Mickey complained to your face about the food?" She still didn't seem impressed as she responded: "Not really that...," before the hosts agreed to move on from Mickey chat. Hitting back at viewers, Patsy wrote on social media: "There's nothing awkward about silence. It says it all!"

Two Singapore restaurants are named in the World's 50 Best Restaurants 51-100 extended list for 2025

Every year, we wait in anticipation for the announcement of the World's 50 Best Restaurants to see which establishments from Singapore make it onto this world-acclaimed list. It's never really a matter of 'if', but 'how many'; After all, eating is one of the top pastimes of Singaporeans and our city is brimming with such a diverse line-up of cuisines and dining venues – the perfect representation of the multi-culturalism that we're known for. Ahead of the official announcement of the top 50 on June 19, 2025, the World's 50 Best Restaurants 2025 extended list of 51 to 100 has just been revealed, and two from this Lion City have been named: modern Australian-style BBQ restaurant Burnt Ends (#93), and Labyrinth (#97) which prides itself on its 'new Singaporean cuisine'. Both Burnt Ends and Labyrinth are no stranger to the World's 50 Best Restaurants list, having emerged at 68th and 92nd place respectively in last year's extended list. Admittedly, this is quite a drop for Burnt Ends in particular, both one-Michelin-star holders will have to work a little harder to maintain their top 100 placings in next year's edition of this food award ranking. This year sees one less Singapore-based dining establishment on the 51 to 100 extended list, with Meta (#95 in 2024) making a disappearance. This can only mean one thing: It's either been bumped up to the top 50, or fallen off the list entirely. Only time will tell. Last year, only one restaurant from Singapore made the top 50 ranking: Odette, one of the two long-standing F&B tenants at the National Gallery that remains after its refresh. The other five, which include rooftop bar Smoke & Mirrors and Cantonese restaurant Yan, have since made a sad exit from the museum. Odette was crowned the Best Restaurant in Asia in 2023's awards. We'll be eagerly waiting to see if it remains in the top 50 global placings this year, and whether any other of our favourite restaurants will be joining the party.

(Picture: BBC) Wedding bells ring for the EastEnders next week – or rather don't – as my new spoiler pictures confirm that Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) calls off her nuptials to Alfie Moon (Shane Richie). Whether or not they eventually walk down the aisle remains to be seen, with a number of hurdles blocking their path. Firstly, there's the dodgy adult website that son Tommy (Sonny Kendall) has been paying for, casting a huge shadow over their happiness. To make matters worse, his twisted new friend Joel Marshall (Max Murray) then introduces him to an influencer who utters disgusting remarks about women online. Secondly, Alfie seems to reject her advances – and Kat believes that it's because of how slow their sex life has been since his cancer treatment. He's mortified when she cancels the wedding, and seeks advice from an unlikely source. Will Kat find a place in her heart to put these issues to one side? It seems that almost every relationship is on the rocks in upcoming scenes, as Elaine Knight (Harriet Thorpe) is given some devastating news about husband George (Colin Salmon). On Christmas night, he spent time with ex-wife Sabrina. Although he rejected her advances, Elaine is convinced that he's a cheater – and even more so when he's seen hugging another ex-wife, Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins), on the balcony of The Prince Albert. Fearing the worst, she meets up with old pal Drew Peacock (Paul Clayton) for some much needed advice, and after batting away attention from a fellow punter, she makes a shock decison. More Trending Elsewhere, Patrick Trueman (Rudolph Walker) is reluctant to give life partner and former wife Yolande (Angela Wynter) a massage. She thinks that they've hit a brick wall and pours her heart out to Denise Fox (Diane Parish). Denise puts her twopence into the situation, and gives Patrick a shoulder to pour his heart out onto.
