PETA India Calls Move 'Chaotic' and 'Harmful'
According to a PTI report, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India said the forced removal of Delhi's estimated 10 lakh community dogs would cause 'chaos and suffering' for both the animals and residents.
'Displacement and jailing of dogs has never worked. Such actions will not curb the dog population, reduce rabies or prevent bites, as dogs eventually return to their territories,' said Dr Mini Aravindan, senior director of veterinary affairs at PETA India.

She urged the government to focus on strengthening sterilisation and vaccination drives, shutting down illegal pet shops and breeders, and promoting adoption.

50-yr-old threatens to blow up CMO, arrested
Jaipur: City police Monday arrested a 50-year-old man from Jhunjhunu barely an hour after he rang up the police control room, warning of a bomb inside the chief minister's office (CMO) in Jaipur. DCP (south) Rajarshi Raj Varma said the caller, identified as Sanwar Mal Saini, made the threat around 12:30pm. By 1:30pm, cyber teams traced his location to Jhunjhunu, and the local police were alerted to detain him. "We coordinated with Jhunjhunu police for a swift operation. He was rounded up without resistance," Varma said. The caller claimed to be a well-wisher of chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and alleged that a bomb had been planted inside the CMO. Immediately after the call, senior officials were informed, and multiple agencies, including bomb disposal units, were dispatched to the CMO for an extensive search. The premises were combed for explosives or suspicious objects, but nothing was found. While the motive remains unclear, Varma said preliminary inputs from locals suggest Saini is a habitual drinker prone to mischief when intoxicated. PMLA court takes cognisance of ED case against Lucent Drugs for illegal Tramadol exports to Pak
1 2 3 Hyderabad: The special court for PMLA cases in Hyderabad has taken cognisance of a prosecution complaint filed by the Enforcement Directorate against Lucent Drugs Private Limited and its top executives for allegedly exporting large consignments of the psychotropic drug Tramadol to Pakistan via Denmark and Malaysia, in violation of Indian export regulations. On Aug 6, the court admitted the complaint after the ED's probe revealed that the company routed 13,800 kg of Tramadol, valued at ₹4.1 crore, to Pakistan through Denmark-based CHR Olesen Pharmaceuticals, and another 5,000 kg, worth ₹1.3 crore, through Malaysia-based SM Biomed. The agency has attached immovable properties worth ₹5.4 crore belonging to the company. Tramadol, often referred to as the 'ISIS drug' due to its widespread misuse by ISIS fighters and for treating war injuries, is a controlled psychotropic substance under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
