VCK and Congress MPs question TNCC president's decision to meet Ramadoss
Speaking to The Hindu, Mr. Ravikumar ruled out any possibility of an alliance with any faction of the PMK, even if it splits due to the ongoing power struggle between Dr. Ramadoss and his son, Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss. 'I initially thought that the Congress high command might have reached out to Dr. Ramadoss, wanting to keep its options open. However, Congress leader Manickam Tagore has made it clear that it was not a decision of the high command,' he said.
Mr. Ravikumar clarified that the VCK would not tie up with any PMK faction. 'We don't care whether it is Dr. Ramadoss or Dr. Anbumani. We don't see them as separate. Has Dr. Ramadoss spoken against the BJP?.. Even if their party is heading for a split, we won't be part of the alliance that features either of them.'
He further said: 'Such an alliance [VCK and PMK or its faction] won't be fruitful; it won't work at the grassroots level. Dr. Ramadoss was the one who fanned the flames of casteism. He was the one who tried to mobilise the non-Dalits against the Dalit community. We recognised him for what he did for social justice. But, the path he took has led to violence against Dalits and deaths. We will stand firm in our resolve to fight caste and religious polarisation.'
Meanwhile, Mr. Tagore tagged Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on X, and asked him how the PMK could be considered an ally of the INDIA bloc, when it has been supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi since 2014. 'Why hurt those who stood with you through thick and thin, and continue to stand by People's Leader @Rahul Gandhi in every battle? This can't be a party decision — it seems purely personal,' he said in his post.
'Don't politicise it'
In his response, Mr. Selvaperunthagai said he had repeated several times that the meeting was not to discuss about any possibility of an alliance, and that he had simply enquired after Dr. Ramadoss' health.
'I urge everyone to refrain from politicising or misrepresenting my meeting with Dr. Ramadoss. The attempts to portray it as a bid to form an alliance or see it as the Congress' opposition to the VCK should stop. I consider Dr. Thol. Thirumavalavan as my elder brother. Any decision about new alliance partners will be taken by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin. The All India Congress talks about uniting SC/ST/OBCs. Both the Congress and the VCK are united in opposing religious forces,' he said.

Before they chant 'Jai Samvidhan,' the Congress party must acknowledge its own history. The party that imposed the Emergency in 1975 and undermined democracy has no right to preach about the Constitution. Mallikarjun Kharge is visiting Telangana on Friday, as if all of this has been forgotten. The crucial question on the minds of the people is clear: 'With what face is the Congress party holding this meeting? What more is left to exploit? Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh, and Telangana have all become endless vessels for Congress's looting.' The Congress government, which announced six guarantees and thirteen promises in Telangana, has yet to fully implement any of them. Is it social justice for Congress to harm BCs under the guise of a caste census and include Muslims in the BC quota? Cong must name its meeting ‘Samajika Anyaya Samara Bheri': Bandi Sanjay
Hyderabad: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar questioned the Congress party holding the 'Samajika Samara Bheri' (public meeting on struggles for Social Justice) in the city, attended by AICC Chief Mallikarjun Kharge. He said on Friday, the Congress party has ruled the 'country and our state for more than half a century, yet has never appointed a Backward Class (BC) person as Prime Minister or Chief Minister.' It exposes the betrayal of the people, especially as they have failed to implement even the six guarantees that would primarily benefit Dalits, backwards classes, and weaker sections. Against this backdrop, he demanded the justification for holding the meeting. He demanded that AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge answer the people. Otherwise, this meeting should be renamed to 'Social Injustice Samara Bheri.' He said in contrast to the Congress, the BJP appointed Ram Nath Kovind, a Dalit; Draupadi Murmu, a tribal; and Abdul Kalam, a minority, as President. The BJP's history includes providing positions to 27 OBCs, 12 Dalits, 6 minorities, and 8 women in the central cabinet—a historic achievement. The BJP has also appointed him, a BC, as a central minister. Sanjay Kumar noted that he, along with other BC leaders like Dr. K. Laxman and Bandaru Dattatreya, has received significant positions. The Congress party, which once mocked Modi—who also comes from a BC background—as a 'chaiwala' if he were Prime Minister, has much to answer for. The Karimnagar MP recalled Modi's announcement that if the BJP comes to power in Telangana, a BC will become the Chief Minister. He further challenged Congress on how many BCs have been appointed in the Congress state's cabinet, 'even though they claim that BCs make up more than 50 per cent of the population.' He pointed out that if BC leader Ponnam Prabhakar had been given a position, it would have been a step toward justice for BCs. How can Congress justify holding a social justice rally when they have denied BC representation? He also criticized the Congress for failing to provide women with promised financial support, such as Rs. 2,500 per month, Rs. 4,000 as a pension, Rs. 4,000 as unemployment benefits, Rs. 5 lakh in assurance for students, and Rs. 21,000 per acre for farmers, along with bonus payments. Why have they failed to deliver on the 420 promises in their manifesto, including the six guarantees? AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge needs to address these questions at the social justice rally, he demanded. Regarding the shortage of fertilisers, he stated that the Congress and BRS parties are unfairly blaming the central government for the urea shortage as the local body elections approach. Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao, who is experienced, is being misled by wrong information. During the last agriculture season, 'Telangana required 9 lakh metric tons of urea, but the central government supplied 12 lakh metric tons. It was 3 lakh metric tons more than what the state of Telangana requested. The Centre is willing to provide the same or more during the current agriculture season.' However, he questioned where the additional urea that remained from the earlier agriculture season went and criticised the state for blaming the Centre without accounting for these discrepancies. 'The onus is on the state government to take appropriate action if there are any hurdles. The Centre is willing to consider Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao's requests favourably. The state must communicate the facts to the public.

Indore Congress councillor charged under NSA for paying men to lure Hindu girls
A Congress councillor from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, Anwar Qadri, has been booked under the National Security Act (NSA) for allegedly masterminding a "love jihad" conspiracy involving financial inducement to trap Hindu case has triggered a major political storm in the state and escalated into a law-and-order issue after three men named Qadri as the person who paid them to target Hindu matter came to light two weeks ago when two men - Sahil Sheikh and Altaf Ali - were arrested by the Indore Police following complaints filed at the Banganga police station. Two Hindu women had alleged that the men concealed their religious identities to establish romantic relationships and then sexually assaulted them. During police interrogation, the two accused reportedly revealed that Congress councillor Anwar Qadri had given them cash incentives - Rs 2 lakh to Sahil and Rs 1 lakh to Altaf - to trap Hindu women, marry them, and convert them to Islam. The arrests and disclosures triggered an immediate political registered a case against Qadri under the Freedom of Religion Act and other sections of the Indian Penal Code. However, after evaluating his past criminal record and the seriousness of the accusations, the Indore District Collector approved the application of the National Security Act against also announced a cash reward of Rs 10,000 for information leading to Qadri's arrest, as he has been absconding since the FIR was case intensified further on Wednesday when a Hindu organisation apprehended two Muslim youths from separate flats in Indore, reportedly in compromising positions with Hindu girls. One of the youths, a resident of Bhopal, named Anwar Qadri and alleged he had paid him Rs 2 lakh to lure Hindu girls. This marked the third time Qadri was named by an accused in the ongoing Collector Ashish Singh confirmed the imposition of the NSA, citing the grave threat posed to social harmony. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav also addressed the matter, saying the Indore Police had been given complete freedom to arrest the absconding councillor. "No one will be spared if found guilty. Law will take its own course," Yadav said in his a sharp political response, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA and former Pro Tem Speaker Rameshwar Sharma demanded that Anwar Qadri be "encountered", alleging that the Congress was harbouring anti-national Additional SP Rajesh Dandotiya confirmed that multiple cases had been registered and investigations were progressing rapidly. He added that action was being taken based on material evidence, and any involvement of elected representatives would not be gravity of the case and repeated accusations linking an elected official to a systematic campaign involving interfaith relationships, religious conversion, and sexual exploitation have raised concerns over communal harmony and law enforcement integrity in the region.- Ends
