JoJo Siwa shares she's 'escaping her sparkly bubble' and 'becoming a woman' as she vows to 'grow out of her comfort zone' in candid posts amid romance with Chris Hughes

Daily Mail24-06-2025
JoJo Siwa has shared she's 'escaping her sparkly bubble' in a candid series of posts, after admitting she felt 'pressure' to call herself a lesbian.
The dancer, 22, previously said she's 'never been happier,' after she begun dating Love Island star Chris Hughes, even secretly flying to the UK on Monday to surprise him after 10 days apart.
And after offering insight into the recent changes in both her professional and personal life in a shoot with YOU Magazine, JoJo took to Instagram to reflect on 'the woman she's becoming.'
The former child star admitted that while it is 'scary' to face the recent changes in her life, her shoot with the publication has helped her 'let go of control.'
In a series of posts, she wrote: 'Stepping into something new… and a little scary. These photos are different. They're bold. They're grown. They're me.
'For the longest time, I lived inside a sparkly little bubble — and while I love her, it's time to find the woman I am becoming #JoJoSiwa #NewEra.'
Following her stint on Celebrity Big Brother, where she and Chris first met, JoJo has shared her time on the show has pushed her to make certain 'changes' in her life, after noticing things she should 'never have been OK with.'
And she echoed this in her second post, writing: 'This shoot pushed me. Not just to pose differently, but to feel differently. To let go of control.
''To stop asking 'Is this what people expect from me?'' and start asking, ''Is this me?'' The answer is YES. So here's to discomfort - it is where the good stuff lives. #OutOfMyComfortZone #Fearless #AdultJoJo.'
Offering a message to her fans, JoJo added: 'To anyone afraid to change… I get it.
'But we don't grow inside the lines. mess it up, try it anyway, and let the world see you ❤️ Here I am. Love her, fear her, or try to figure her out — this is me.'
The star's posts were soon flooded with comments from her friends and followers offering their support, with her close pal Tyler Cameron writing: 'You look amazing in all of these!'
In her interview with YOU, JoJo shared that she now identifies as queer, admitting she previously felt 'pressure' to call herself a lesbian.
The star has sparked a social media frenzy since she confirmed she is dating Love Island star Chris, after they met on Celebrity Big Brother in April.
She said: 'When I came out at 17, I said: 'I'm pansexual, because I don't care [about gender].' But then I kind of boxed myself in and I said: 'I'm a lesbian.' And I think I did that because of pressure.'
The Dance Moms alum has had several relationships with women since coming out in February 2021.
'In a weird way, I think [the pressure] came a little bit from inside the [LGBTQ] community at times. From people I know, from partners I've had,' she contended.
'You just get put in this world where you feel like, because you now have said, 'Oh, I'm a lesbian', you have to be a lesbian. And the truth is, sexuality is fluid.'
Reflecting on how her romance with Chris has blossomed since they left the CBB house, she added: 'I'll just say that it took time. It took time away and then it took time together,' adding later that he is now 'the favourite part of her life'.
On Monday, JoJo was reunited with her boyfriend Chris when she secretly flew to the UK to surprise him.
Taking to Snapchat, Chris shared a sweet snap cuddling with her on his 'little green couch'.
Alongside the adorable black-and-white picture, he penned: 'My month is made, she's home, and she surprised me, and I was having a nap on my little green sofa'.
Several hours later, Chris then shared a snap of himself and JoJo cosed up together watching a film, writing he's 'so very content rn.'
Over the weekend, it was revealed JoJo had pulled out of her planned appearance Chicago's Back Lot bash due to a 'scheduling conflict,' just a week after she postponed her US tour.
Earlier this month, it was also reported that JoJo and Chris have been in talks with ITV bosses about their own reality TV show, with it being lined up to air on ITV2 later in the year.
A source told the publication: 'It's still in the early stages but ITV really think they'd be amazing TV with their own show.
'Fans around the world are obsessed with their relationship and there are so many TikTok accounts devoted to their love story.'
They added: 'Chris and JoJo are keen too, and while there is no deal signed yet, the talks have been really promising.'
Before confirming their romance, JoJo and Chris played coy over their relationship status – despite numerous cosy public outings
After forming a close bond in the Celebrity Big Brother house, JoJo finally confirmed earlier this month that she and Chris are officially an item and that she's started calling him her boyfriend.
In an interview with Capital Radio, JoJo said: 'I'm sure it's no secret to people, I am in a lovely relationship with a sweet boy named Christopher Hughes.'
She also gushed about her blossoming romance with Chris in an interview with The Guardian when asked whether things between them were still platonic.
'It's not platonic anymore, and it's been a beautiful development, a beautiful connection, and I'm absolutely head over heels for him and he's the same way,' she told them.

Love Island fans slam show as ‘rigged' as they fear for fan favourite star

LOVE Island fans have been left fearing the show has been 'rigged' as the ex-Islanders make their comeback to vote off one more couple. With five couples all still vying to make it into the ITV2 dating show's final, the past raft of contestants are back to end someone's dream early by collectively voting to dump one pair. 4 4 However, cautious fans have been left panicking that the direction of who they choose to vote off could have been manipulated - and it has left them fearing for one fan-favourite. They think Shakira Khan could be axed over her romance with Harry Cooksley in favour of warring pair Dejon and Meg. Dejon was seen bickering with his girlfriend over the last two episodes with many viewers questioning how they have remained in the villa - especially given that popularity for the pair is low. With one couple already dumped, fans have begun to fear the worst and speculate as to what's to come on Sunday night's show. Writing on X, one viewer said: "Old islanders choosing who to dump days before the final.. Meg and D will still sail to the final when the past few days has shown they aint it!! "Ugh so bloody rigged it's not even funny." Another added: "This is rigged cause no way the ex islanders will dump Meg and Dejon." A third then posted: "I feel like they rigged the votes because they wanted Meg and Dejon to face the old islanders." Before a fourth chimed in to say: "Guys it's so rigged! The producers want Dejon & meg to win." Fearing for Shakira, someone else said online: "istg if the dumped islanders pick Shakira and harry and use harry as a scapegoat…" Love Island fans slam Dejon for 'huge overreaction' as the girls play a trick on the boys As another wrote: "If Shakira, Toni or Yas are dumped by those past islanders istg never use that twist again." The Sun were the first to reveal that many of this year's Islanders would be making a return to the Majorcan villa for the jury trial vote twist. The cast returned to the villa for the always-shocking Islander Jury on Friday and sent this pair packing. In scenes that will air on Sunday night, former cast made their epic returns to make the huge decision. Former Islanders including Harry Cooksley's ex Emma Munro, Billykiss Azeez, and smitten couple Harrison Solomon and Lauren Wood, voted for the couple they wanted to boot. While The Sun can't reveal their identities at this crucial stage of the ITV2 dating show, we can share that Islanders made their decisions having watched back footage and been shocked by what they saw. 4
