Inside Rupert Grint and Georgia Groome's relationship as they welcome new baby

Metro28-04-2025

Rupert Grint and his long-time girlfriend, Georgia Groome, are now a joyous family of four after welcoming their second child together.
Harry Potter and Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging were not two worlds we ever envisioned colliding.
However, child actor Rupert, now 36, and fellow film star Georgia, 33, have been going strong since 2011 and are proud parents to two adorable babies.
Over the weekend, Rupert confirmed the arrival of their daughter, revealing her very precious name and giving fans a glimpse of the newborn via social media.
Let's take a trip down nostalgia lane and revisit everything we know about the couple's relationship…
The two have been notoriously private about their relationship. In fact, fans didn't even know that they were an item at all until a while after Rupert and Georgia got together.
In December 2018, the world went into a frenzy upon discovering Rupert and Georgia had started dating seven years earlier.
Seeing a photo of them on Twitter at the time started up the rumour mill, and, before we knew it, they were the latest hot Hollywood couple on the block.
The photo circulated the internet with the caption: 'I was today years old when I found out Georgia from Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging has been going out with Ron Weasley since 2011?'
Alongside the tweet was a snap of them together, with Georgia's arm around Rupert.
It's still unknown just exactly how long the lovebirds have been together, but it's safe to say they're in this for the long haul now.
In 2019, the pair sparked marriage rumours after being photographed wearing matching gold rings.
However, Rupert's seemingly complimentary band was worn on his right hand.
A spokesperson for the Knock at the Cabin star also shut down the speculation in a comment to The Sun.
Nothing is thought to have changed since—well, apart from the addition of a baby or two—but after well over a decade together, it seems neither is in a rush to say 'I do.'
The Ron Weasley actor and rom-com star announced in 2020 that they were expecting their first baby together.
In a statement shared with Metro at the time, they said: 'Rupert Grint and Georgia Groome are excited to announce they are expecting a baby and would please ask for privacy at this time.'
Georgia was later seen out and about, her blossoming bump on show.
Then, in May 2022, they welcomed their first daughter, named Wednesday.
He wrote at the time for his first online post: 'Hey Instagram….only 10 years late, but here I am. Grint on the Gram! Here to introduce you all to Wednesday G. Grint. Stay safe, Rupert.'
This made Rupert the first of the Harry Potter trio to become a parent, before leading man Daniel Radcliffe welcomed a child in 2023.
Taking a different approach the second time around, neither Rupert nor Georgia confirmed that she was pregnant with baby number two, making it a real surprise for fans when news broke that she had given birth.
Pictures initially captured the doting parents on a stroll in London with the newborn, who already sports Rupert's famous ginger locks.
Later breaking his own silence and poking fun at the reports of him welcoming a child in 'secret,' he took to Instagram, offering a glimpse of their latest arrival in all her glory.
The sweet snap showed the baby lying in a leopard-print fleece and wearing a grey cardigan. Across her white one-piece was her name, Goldie, embroidered in, yes, golden letters.
Rupert's caption read: ''Secret Child Slightly Revealed' Introducing Goldie G. Grint. ⭐️ A 10/10 baby (so far)
'Shout out to @alex.digesu for always delivering 🫡'
He was quickly inundated with congratulatory messages from fans, who were overjoyed to have 'another Weasley'.
Neither star has commented much publicly on their relationship in interviews, having chosen to keep their love life away from the spotlight.
However, Rupert sat down with The Guardian shortly after turning 30, opening up about the next chapter of his life.
'Turning 30 felt strange. It just doesn't feel like I'm there yet, and I don't know what the future holds,' he said.
'I'm just going to go with the flow, keep playing interesting characters, and see what happens.
'I'd like to settle down and have kids soon.'
Since becoming a father, he's had nothing but good things to say, telling Glamour in 2022 that he was 'absolutely loving' his latest off-screen role while 'still kind of coming to terms with what being a dad is.'
'It's so much fun. I feel like I've changed as a person for sure,' he reflected.
'It kind of happened overnight, lifestyle-wise. I stopped smoking straight away. I've started sleeping so much better—I used to be a horrific insomniac, now I'm sleeping.'
Rupert, who has shared photos with his firstborn with his 5.3million followers, also spoke about his daughter's obsessions while on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
The Driving Lessons star explained he was living in the UK after a stint in the US, saying his child was 'struggling' to adjust to the change. More Trending
Rupert shared that she had 'spent most of her time' in America, so she was missing home comforts, among them Hoagies and, er, Target.
Asked about Wednesday's favourite things, he told the 48-year-old host: 'So, so many things. I mean, she's kind of princess crazy as well, but she's struggling a little bit with kind of adjusting to UK life.
'She spent most of her time in America, so she's missing some kind of cultural things,' he continued, adding: 'She does love Philly. She loves Hoagies. She loves water rides.'
'The big one is Target,' Rupert confessed, much to the laughter and applause of the studio audience.

I'm scarred for life from terrifying accident but I'm going to prove it not all about looks, says Love Island's Sophie

The incident took place whilst she was performing in Chicago, when an air-conditioner blew the flames she was expelling back towards her. Sophie told The Sun and other press that the ITV2 dating show is more than just about bikini bodies and glam looks. She said: "[It should be about] all beauty. Even my Mum, she asked me, 'What if this bombshell comes in? How you gonna feel about that?' I'm like, 'Well, this is what I signed up for, love!' They're gonna be stunning." The influencer revealed the real reason why she turned down the opportunity to appear on Love Island in previous years. She shared: "Body confidence for me has been something I've worked on. "This is a show, which is why I had to make this a big choice of mine, in terms of thinking about all these things: am I ready? Am I in a part of my life where I'm confident? That's why previously, when I've been approached to do the show, I said no, because I wasn't ready." Motivational speaker Sophie said she has spent the last few years working on herself and rebuilding her confidence. "I didn't feel good in myself. I still had a lot of inner work to do on me," she continued. Love Island 2025: Top villa snog spots "Now, I'm in a part of my life where I feel like I'm the woman that I'm meant to be. "I'm proud that I can say, 'I'm confident, I feel beautiful.' I think beauty is not just about what you look like. "You can wear a bin bag but feel beautiful. "It's more about how I'm feeling on the inside, and right now, I feel like I'm at my best. "I feel like I'm in a part of my life where I can handle rejection. I can handle if things aren't for me, because they're just not my person, that's OK." The star, from Manchester, previously opened up to The Sun about the terrifying incident. She said: 'The air-con was too strong so when I blew the fire out it blew back to me. It set me on fire. I just remember being in so much pain, I blacked out for a little bit. It's crazy. 'It happened in front of everyone and I had to get on with it as professionally and quickly as I could. As soon as I got into the ambulance, I was in bits." She added: That was a scary, scary time. I couldn't breathe by myself, I couldn't eat, I couldn't really see, it was scary. I was pretty out of it but on day two I looked in the mirror and just cried.' Sophie spent a month in an intensive care clinic in America, before battling with a tumour which began growing on the side of her face. Becoming an activist Sophie has used her own experiences to become an activist, spreading awareness about unfair beauty standards and the importance of body positivity. She said: 'Life since the accident is definitely something I didn't expect because I just see myself as someone who went through something and thought my story could help others. 'My aim was never to get awards or receive that type of attention. With the platform I have now, I feel like I have not only a responsibility to others but a responsibility to myself to be a better person everyday and to always be evolving. 'If people were to take a message from my story I'd say that beauty is always skin deep and your life is perfect just as it is. 'You just need to be yourself and accepting of life's roller coaster so love your perfectly imperfect life.' She has worked extensively with Katie Piper's charity and even wrote a book entitled In My Skin.
