Freddie Mercury refused to 'fix teeth' for reason you'd least expect
Queen frontman Freddie Mercury was born with four extra teeth, which caused him to have a prominent overbite. Despite feeling self-conscious about them, he never got them fixed The iconic Freddie Mercury once attributed his extraordinary singing voice to a unique physical trait. The Queen legend was conscious of his "extra teeth," but chose not to alter them, convinced they were the key to his vocal prowess. Mercury's voice stood out among his contemporaries, and the Don't Stop Me Now vocalist believed his additional teeth played a role. A recent post on the r/TodayILearned subreddit delved into why Mercury never opted for dental work, despite his overbite making him self-conscious. The Reddit post stated: " Freddie Mercury was born with four extra teeth, causing a prominent overbite. Despite being self-conscious about them, he never got them fixed, believing the extra space in his mouth contributed to his vocal ability. He feared altering his teeth might change his voice." Fans have since shared their thoughts on Mercury's choice. A Mercury enthusiast commented: "It is entirely possible that it would have changed his voice. Not his vocal range, which was extraordinary, but the timbre." Another fan added: "The greatest male singer ever. Always will be." A third shared: "This is common for singers and very valid. Altering any part of vocal resonances chambers will alter the sound. Sinuses, mouth, throat. Leave it alone if you sing for a living." The conversation has sparked further discussion among music fans, sharing anecdotes of other vocalists who have resisted corrective surgeries, wary of affecting their singing abilities. Elton John, Barbra Streisand, and Tobias Forge from the Swedish rock band Ghost are all seemingly wary of undergoing surgical procedures that could potentially alter their signature singing voices. A music enthusiast commented: "Not rare for vocalists to be worried about things like this. The vocalist of Ghost got his nose smashed in a fight when he was younger. "It affected his sinuses and he very often gets bad infections that are hard to clear out. "He hasn't gotten it fixed because he also thinks that his mangled sinuses are part of what gives his singing voice its characteristic sound." In 1987, Elton John would have an operation that would leave a lasting impact on his vocal performance for many years of his illustrious career. Speaking to Billboard in 2004, he reflected: "My voice is the thing that's really improved the most over the last few years. There's more resonance to it." He elaborated on the changes post-surgery: "It started to change when I had the operation in Australia after the live album, because of the nine cancerous ... whatever it was on my vocal chords."

Kerry Katona makes savage dig at Brooklyn Beckham with 'nepo-baby' remark
As former Atomic Kitten star Kerry Katona and her long-time pal Katie Price gear up for their tour, they discussed their 18-year-old daughters' careers, dismissing nepotism claims Kerry Katona has taken a brutal swipe at David and Victoria Beckham' s eldest son Brooklyn, as she discussed 'nepo-baby' claims about her own daughter. The former Atomic Kitten singer, 44, was revealed she has encouraged her daughter to take any offers of reality TV. Mum-of-four Kerry, who will soon head out on tour with long-time pal Katie Price, wants her 18-year-old daughter Heidi to follow in her footsteps when it comes to her career. Talking about her wishes for her children, she commented that she'd love to see her go into the I'm A Celebrity... jungle with her best mate, Katie Price's daughter Princess, also 18. The two old friends delighted audiences with their adult pantomime last Christmas, and decided to take their double-act on tour. An Evening with Katie Price & Kerry Katona will run from September to November. It comes after Katie Price worries fans with appearance in family photo after explaining weight loss . The official listing for their tour says the pair "are looking forward to hitting the road together and sharing stories of marriage and divorce, bankruptcy, I'm A Celebrity, the importance of family, their constant press attention and turning their lives around." But when challenged by critics over her dream for Heidi to go onto reality TV, she hit back at 'nepo-baby' claims. Kerry said: "Everyone talks about nepotism right, but everyone has a contact for somebody." She told the Sun: "I can open a door for you. Whether you get through that door and you stay through it, that's on your own f*****g merit." Kerry then took a swipe at David Beckham's 26-year-old son Brooklyn, who quit football. She remarked: "You don't see Brooklyn Beckham playing f***ing football, because he's s**t." Brooklyn played for Arsenal's youth squad until he was 16 but wasn't awarded a scholarship. He instead decided to become a photographer and also has his own hot sauce brand. Elsewhere, Katie Price weighed in on her daughter Princess' upcoming documentary, which follows the teen on the lead-up to her 18th birthday. But despite her mum's high-profile in the UK, Princess will be the star of the show, with Katie banned from taking part in her documentary. To add insult to injury, Katie's ex Peter Andre and his wife, NHS doctor Emily, will feature in the documentary. A source told MailOnline: "Katie will not be in Princess's show, the decision has been made and it's final. Princess loves her mum, and they have a great relationship, but the show is all about her work and home life. "Television bosses were adamant that nothing was to be 'staged' to include Katie as it would not be a real and truthful insight into her life." But mum-of-five Katie seems to feel pushed out by the move, bringing up the issue on her podcast, before being swiftly moved on by her sister Sophie. She said: "Princess is now officially an adult so mummy and Princess can now go out together. If certain people would let her be seen with me. "Everyone knows she's doing this documentary - and I'm not in it. Certain people don't think it's good for Princess to be seen with me. Certain people that used to look after me." "You aren't on brand, Katie. You are too risky, Katie, that's why," her sister quipped. "It's pathetic. I'm her mother," Katie snapped. "It's so sad. When certain people who used to look after me are now looking after..." Katie was then cut off by her sister Sophie, who encouraged her to "save it for another day."

Katie Price admits she has to use Google search to remind her of her children's birthdays
Former glamour model Katie Price shares five children with three of her exes, Harvey's father is Dwight Yorke, Princess and Junior's dad is Peter Andre, and Jett and Bunny's father is Kieran Hayler Mum-of-five Katie Price has admitted that she can't remember her children's birthdays off the top of her head, revealing she has to Google them if she needs to know their date of births. The former glamour model, 47, shares her kids with three of her exes, but confessed she doesn't get bogged down in the details. The model turned reality TV star did a joint interview with her former I'm A Celebrity... co-star Kerry Katona, with the old pals discussing their girls, Princess and Heidi, who have now become best mates. Atomic Kitten singer Kerry, 44, will be heading out on tour together, after their adult pantomime over Christmas saw them delight audiences with their on-stage chemistry. An Evening With Katie Price And Kerry Katona will run from September to November, and will see the pair discuss their pasts to an audience, as well as belt out some obligatory ballads together. Between them, they have nine kids, who have also become close. It comes after Katie Price worries fans with appearance in family photo after explaining weight loss. During an interview to discuss the upcoming UK tour, Katie admitted she struggles to remember her kids' birthdays. Katie says: 'Quite often if I need to remember something I think, let me Google it. If I have to fill out a form and do the kids' dates of births, I Google it.' Katie is mum to Harvey, Junior, Princess, Jett and Bunny – she shares Harvey with ex Dwight Yorke, though he has no involvement with Harvey, while she has Junior and Princess with ex-husband Peter Andre and she has Jett and Bunny with ex-husband Kieran Hayler. Speaking with the Sun, the pair discussed their children, and how they are encouraging them to capitalise on their mums' fame, by making their own debuts on reality TV. Katie's eldest Princess, who has just turned 18, is already dipping her toe in to the industry, and has filmed a documentary about the lead up to her birthday - but mum Katie was strictly banned from appearing in it. Speaking to her sister, Sophie, on their podcast, she said: "Princess is now officially an adult so mummy and Princess can now go out together. When certain people who used to look after me are now looking after..." Katie was then cut off by her sister Sophie, who encouraged her to "save it for another day." The MailOnline reported that dad Peter Andre and his wife Emily will feature in the new show, but Katie will be taking a back seat. A source said: "Katie will not be in Princess's show, the decision has been made and it's final. Princess loves her mum, and they have a great relationship, but the show is all about her work and home life. "Television bosses were adamant that nothing was to be 'staged' to include Katie as it would not be a real and truthful insight into her life." The show will follow Princess up to her turning 18 in June. But Katie is hoping it is just the start of her daughter's TV career, with both her and Kerry keen for their daughters to take on all the shows. Having met on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! in 2004, which Kerry won, they hope that Princess and Kerry's daughter Heidi, also 18, will one day find themselves in the jungle together. "I'm desperate for Princess and Heidi to do the Jungle together, imagine," Kerry said. Katie added: "I always say Love Island. Heidi and Princess need to do it together." Kerry commented: "The way I see it is, forget management, forget fame, what an amazing memory, what an amazing adventure. So I think if Heidi goes to Love Island for three months and has the best time then that's amazing." She added that while people may be quick to criticise their children for being "nepo-babies", she insists that everybody has a contact, somewhere.
