2026 Buick Envision Review, Pricing, and Specs
Buick's compact Envision SUV aims for big names in the luxury crossover space but doesn't quite reach their level. Instead of a full-on luxury experience, it and other Buicks provide more of a half-step between, say, a Chevy and a Cadillac. This is at least reflected in its price, which is a good chunk lower than those of its supposed competitors, including the Audi Q5, BMW X3, Cadillac XT5, Lincoln Corsair, and Mercedes-Benz GLC-class. The Envision is certainly handsome and, in typical Buick fashion, the ride is comfortable, and leather upholstery comes standard. But the other materials aren't what we'd expect of a luxury automaker, and it feels down on power.
What's New for 2026?
Very little changes for the Envision this year. The most noticeable differences are in the color palette, which loses three hues—Calypso Blue Metallic, Smokey Amethyst Metallic, and White Frost Tricoat—while two new ones have been added. Quartz Blue Metallic is newly available across the range, while Midnight Opal is exclusive to the Avenir model.
Pricing and Which One to Buy
The price of the 2026 Buick Envision is expected to start around $38,000 and go up to $48,000 depending on the trim and options.

While the Buick Envision Avenir is indulgent in terms of features, its price premium leads us to choose the Sport Touring model, which adds a fair number of standard goodies, such as blackout exterior trim, without going overboard. We recommend adding the Comfort and Convenience Package, which includes a heated steering wheel, heated driver and front passenger seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, an air quality indicator, automatic air recirculation, a universal home remote, and a hands-free power liftgate.
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
All Envisions come with the same engine: a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder rated at 228 horsepower. A nine-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive are both standard. The Envision is down on power compared to its competition and, as a result, its acceleration trails theirs. There is a Sport driving mode, but even with it engaged performance remains unexciting. Nonetheless, as you might expect from a Buick, the Envision's priority is ride comfort, not driver engagement. On that note, the Envision doesn't disappoint. This is one relaxed cruiser.

When we put the Envision through its paces at our test track, the Buick delivered an uninspired 7.3-second 60-mph run. Still, its on-road performance should suit the majority of buyers.

Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG
The EPA hasn't released the 2026 Envision's fuel economy estimates yet, but the 2025 model was rated for 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. When we get a chance to put the new Envision through our 75-mph highway fuel economy route, we'll update this story with results. Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
Despite its price tag, you'll find that many of the Envision's luxury features are optional, even on the mid-level Sport Touring model—except for leather seating, which is standard. Interior ambiance is merely average, not awesome, although the instrument panel design is contemporary and sports a massive 30-inch display with a mid-century modern shape that's quite fetching. The interior is spacious for a compact SUV but doesn't feel at all luxurious unless you go for the Avenir trim. Even then, the Envision doesn't come across as upscale as its German competition. But the Avenir does offer frills such as quilted leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, and a massaging driver's seat. And, as an SUV, the Envision is undeniably practical. In our testing, this compact Buick was able to fit 21 carry-on suitcases inside with its rear seats folded flat.

Infotainment and Connectivity
When it comes to connectivity, the Envision doesn't disenchant. All models come with a head-up display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a Wi-Fi hotspot, SiriusXM satellite radio, in-dash navigation, a nine-speaker Bose stereo, four USB ports, and active noise-cancellation. But the main attraction is its large 30-inch display, which houses both the driver's instrument cluster and the infotainment system.
Safety and Driver-Assistance Features
Buick offers plenty of driver-assistance features as standard on the Envision, including an adaptive cruise control system with a lane-centering feature, automatic high-beam headlamps, and a 360-degree exterior camera system. Lucid Will Keep $7,500 Tax Credit Going—for Those Leasing Gravity SUV
Lucid Motors will offer $7,500 tax credit, which expires at the end of September for all EVs, for lessees of the Gravity SUV through a special program. The Gravity Advantage Credit initiative requires lessees to order a Lucid Gravity by September 30 and take delivery between October 1 and December 31 to still get the $7,500 credit. Lucid's second EV, which starts at $81,550 for the Touring model, faces an extended cast of German competitors but has the advantage of being produced stateside and is therefore not subject to import tariffs. The long-popular $7,500 tax credit is going away in a matter of weeks, thanks to the Big Beautiful Bill, but perhaps not for all EVs and not at once. Automakers are understandably concerned about the effect it might have on the sales of some if not all vehicles—those deep in six-figure territory never really benefitted from it. But the demise of the credit is expected to have an effect on quite a few automakers just as the end of the year clearance sales gain momentum. As a result, some lessees interested in Lucid's luxury SUV can still take advantage of the credit through the Lucid Gravity Advantage Credit initiative, launched just a few days ago. "We want to reassure customers who have already ordered a vehicle, which may not be built and delivered by the end of September, that they will still benefit from the $7,500 leasing tax credit, despite the impending expiration," the automaker said in a statement. The initiative offers those who qualify and order a Lucid Gravity by September 30 and take delivery between October 1 and December 31 to still get the $7,500 credit. "Our unique position stems from having specific color and trim combinations that only enter production in Q4," the automaker explained. It is worth noting that this deal applies only to lessees of the Gravity, rather than buyers of the model, as it starts at $81,550 for the Touring model, and stretches all the way up to $141,550. With a dual-motor layout and 828 hp and 909 lb-ft of torque, the three-row SUV is powered by a beefy 123-kWh battery, which is good enough for 437 miles in the EPA cycle in seven-passenger form. But the Gravity will do 450 miles if optioned in five-passenger form. And it's NACS-compatible from the factory as well. "With the production of Lucid Gravity gaining significant momentum and increasing demand from both new and returning customers, Lucid aims to eliminate potential inconveniences and ensure customers can still benefit from the $7,500 leasing credit even after the federal EV Credit program expires on September 30," the EV maker said. Given the generous number of pricey, three-row electric SUVs on sale at the moment, the focus is already on the next Lucid model, expected to be badged Earth and arriving as a 2028 model with a starting price just below the $50,000 mark. Since the start of Lucid Air sales, the brand's offerings have been perceived as expensive, perhaps even hindering vehicle sales. The Earth is expected to finally address some of these concerns. Once it arrives, the Earth will face an even greater cast of competitors than it does today, and will do so in what could be a very challenging tariff environment for foreign models. Due to the expectation that it will be built not in Arizona—like its first two EVs—but in Saudi Arabia, the tariff situation by 2027 or 2028 could certainly complicate matters for the automaker in terms of affordability.
