PM Modi flags off three Vande Bharat Express trains in Bengaluru: Check route, ticket fare, timings and other details
While the much-awaited Bengaluru–Belagavi Vande Bharat Express was flagged off by Modi in person; the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra–Amritsar, and Ajni (Nagpur)–Pune Vande Bharat services, were launched virtually, news agency PTI reported.
Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Union Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw, were among others present at the event.
It will be the 11th Vande Bharat service to operate in Karnataka, will run as train number 26751/26752.
'This train connects Bengaluru, India's Silicon City, with Belagavi, a hub of premier medical and engineering institutions, fostering economic and educational opportunities,' officials told PTI.
According to officials, the Bengaluru–Belagavi Vande Bharat Express is the fastest train between these two cities, covering 611 km in just 8.5 hours. It will save approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes from KSR Bengaluru to Belagavi and 1 hour 40 minutes from Belagavi – KSR Bengaluru compared to existing services.
Route: The Route traverses Karnataka's rich sugarcane belt, passing through key cities such as Dharwad, renowned for its prestigious educational institutions; Hubballi, a thriving commercial and industrial center; Haveri, an emerging agricultural hub; Davangere, popular for textiles and agriculture; and Tumakuru, a growing industrial and educational center.
Timing: After the inauguration, the special inaugural train (Train No. 06575) will run from KSR Bengaluru to Belagavi, departing at 11:15 AM and reaching Belagavi at 8:00 PM the same day.
Stoppages: Yesvantpur, Tumakuru, Davangere, SMM Haveri, SSS Hubballi, and Dharwad.
Ticket fare: The Bengaluru to Belagavi Vande Bharat Express train has two types of seating arrangements – AC Chair Car and Executive Chair Car. The fare for travelling between Bengaluru to Belagavi on AC Chair Car is ₹ 1,575 and for Executive AC Chair Car is ₹ 2,905, the Indian Express reported.
According to Jammu Rail Division, Vande Bharat train No. 26406 (Katra-Amritsar) will run from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to Amritsar while train No. 26405 will run from Amritsar to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra six days a week except Tuesday.
Stoppages: The Amritsar-Katra Vande Bharat train will stop at four stations en route. These are: Beas, Jalandhan City, Pathankot Cantt, and Jammu Tawi.
Timings: Train number 26406 Katra-Amritsar Vande Bharat train will leave Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra (SVDK) at 06:40 hrs to reach Amritsar at 12:20 hrs, Indian Express reported. On its return journey, the train will depart from Amritsar at 16:25 hrs to arrive in Katra at 22:00 hrs.
Ticket price: The Amritsar-Katra Vande Bharat Express train will have two types of seating arrangements – AC Chair Car and Executive Chair Car. The fare for travelling between Amritsar to Katra on an AC Chair Car is ₹ 1170 and for Executive AC Chair Car is ₹ 2085,the Indian Express report added.
Distance, Travel Time: The Ajni-Pune Vande Bharat Express train will cover distance of 881 km in 12 hours. It will be the fastest train on the route followed by Pune Humsafar and Azad Hind Express.
Train Number: The Ajni(Nagpur)-Pune Vande Bharat Express will run as train number 26101/26102. The train will operate six days a week except Tuesday (from Pune) and Monday (from Ajni).
Stoppages: This Vande Bharat train will stop at 10 stations. These are: Wardha, Badnera, Akola, Shegaon, Bhusaval, Jalgaon, Manmad, Kopargaon, Ahmednagar and Daund Chord Line.
Timings: Train number 26101 Pune-Ajni Vande Bharat Express will depart from Pune station at 06:25 hrs with effect from 11.08.2025 and arrive Ajni at 18:25 hrs same day.
Train number 26102 Ajni-Pune Vande Bharat Express will depart from Ajni station at 09:50 hrs with effect from 12.08.2025 and arrive Pune at 21:50 hrs same day.

President Murmu hails Op Sindoor as fight of humanity against terrorism
Operation Sindoor will go down in history as an example in humanity's fight against terrorism, President Droupadi Murmu told the nation on the eve of the 79th Independence Day on Thursday, as she hailed the test of Atmanirbhar Bharat during the conflict and the nation's unity, which according her, was the most befitting response to those who wanted to divide India. The President mentioned how welfare schemes were designed to prevent people from slipping back to poverty. She said income inequality and regional disparities were reducing and said astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla's space journey had 'fired a whole generation to dream bigger.' Amid the ongoing controversy over the Election Commission's Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Bihar, the President highlighted India's universal adult franchise that came 'without any restrictions of gender, religion and other factors that had barred many people from voting in other democracies' and said democratic institutions in India had 'strengthened the practice of democracy'. Three months after the India-Pakistan conflict in May, the President, who is also the commander-in-chief of the Indian Armed Forces, hailed Operation Sindoor and the rise of Atmanirbhar Bharat in the defence sector. Calling India's response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack as decisive, Murmu told the nation, 'This year we had to face the scourge of terrorism. Killing innocent citizens on holiday in Kashmir was cowardly and utterly inhuman. India responded in a decisive manner and with steely resolve. Operation Sindoor showed that our armed forces are prepared to meet any eventuality when it comes to guarding the nation. With strategic clarity and technical capability, they destroyed terrorist hubs across the border. I believe Operation Sindoor will go down in history as an example in humanity's fight against terrorism.' She hailed the united spirit of India and said the world had taken note of India's stance. 'Operation Sindoor was also a test case of the Atmanirbhar Bharat mission in the defence sector. The outcome has proved that we are on the right path. Our indigenous manufacturing has achieved the critical level that makes us self-sufficient in meeting many of our security requirements. These are landmark achievements in India's defence history since Independence,' Murmu added. Murmu pointed out how a newly independent India opted for universal adult franchise, without restrictions. 'After regaining our freedom, we also became a democracy with universal adult franchise. In other words, we the people of India put the power to shape our destiny in the hands of each of us, without any restrictions of gender, religion and other factors that had barred many people from voting in other democracies. In spite of many challenges, the people of India made a successful transition to democracy. The transition was a natural reflection of our ancient democratic ethos,' she said. 'India had the oldest republics in the world. It is rightly acknowledged as the mother of democracy. When we adopted the Constitution, it provided the edifice of democracy. We built democratic institutions that strengthened the practice of democracy. We prize our Constitution and our democracy above everything else.' The President spoke about India's 'extraordinary progress' in 78 years and told the nation that the achievements in the economic field were noticeable. 'With a GDP growth rate of 6.5% in the last fiscal, India is the fastest growing among the major economies in the world. Even amid stress in the global economy, demand at home is pacing ahead. Inflation has remained under control. Exports are rising. All key indicators show the economy in the pink of health. This is as much due to carefully calibrated reforms and sagacious economic management as due to the hard work and dedication of our workers and farmers,' Murmu said. In her speech, Murmu said that the government was running a series of welfare initiatives for the poor and those who rose above the poverty line but were still vulnerable. 'This is reflected in the rising expenditure on social services. Income inequality is reducing. Regional disparities are also disappearing. The states and regions, earlier known for weaker economic performance, are now showing their true potential and catching up with the front-runners,' she said. 'Our business leaders, small and medium industries and traders have always exhibited a can-do spirit; what was needed was removing the bottlenecks in the path of wealth creation,' said Murmu. She said that the new rail link in Kashmir was a 'major accomplishment' as it will boost trade and tourism in the region. Murmu said that the government considered the basic amenities of life as rightful claims of the citizens and highlighted schemes such as the Jal Jeevan Mission and the Ayushman Bharat that provides cover to more than 55o million people. 'As inequalities in access are removed, the poor and the lower middle-class also benefit from the best possible health-care facilities,' she said. She also spoke about the dramatic advances of the IT sector and how more than half of the total number of digital transactions in the world take place in India. 'Moreover, we are increasing our self-reliance in every area possible. This has added to our self-confidence and increased the momentum of our journey towards becoming Viksit Bharat,' she added.

Partition a dark chapter born out of Congress' appeasement politics: Yogi Adityanath
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday hit out at the Congress, saying the 1947 Partition was a dark chapter born out of the party's appeasement politics that shattered the 'Sanatan Bharat's unity and inflicted deep wounds on the nation'. Addressing an event in Lucknow on Partition Horrors Remembrance Day, the CM credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi with reviving this forgotten history by dedicating the day in 2021. 'Today, the entire country is mourning, remembering the horrors of August 14, 1947,' he said. Paying homage to the victims of Partition, the CM announced that the Uttar Pradesh government will provide land leases and full rehabilitation to eligible families under the Citizen Amendment Act (CAA). 'We are committed to protecting their rights and ensuring their dignity,' he said. Inaugurating an exhibition depicting the Partition violence through digital archives, rare photographs, newspaper clippings, state records, and preserved belongings of displaced families, the CM urged people to draw lessons from history. While revolutionaries willingly embraced martyrdom for India's freedom, the Congress divided the nation in its greed for power, he alleged, adding that the party's policies led to the ethnic cleansing of Hindus, Sikhs, and Buddhists from places like Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi, and Multan in West Pakistan. 'The violence claimed 15–20 lakh lives and displaced crores, marking one of the darkest episodes in history,' he added. He accused the then Congress government of showing complete apathy towards the displaced. 'No memorials were built, no museums established for Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, and Christians who were forced to leave their ancestral homes. Their suffering was erased from the public memory,' he said. The CM praised PM Modi for granting citizenship and rehabilitation rights to refugees through the CAA, noting that — for the first time — displaced people in Jammu & Kashmir and other regions received citizenship and began contributing to India's development. 'The Congress never made any sincere effort for their rehabilitation,' he claimed. Emphasising the importance of connecting the younger generation with history, Adityanath said the exhibition portrayed the grim reality of Partition — massacres, riots, and forced migration. Later, he also held a 'silent foot march'. At that time those in power deceived the public by portraying Partition as merely an administrative decision, he said. 'Partition was a moral and humanitarian crime, which the Congress carried out under its policy of appeasement. 'Partition gave birth to a monster like Pakistan, which even today is involved in various conspiracies to harm Hindustan,' he remarked. The Congress, he said, portrayed India's Partition as if it were the division of property between two brothers. The state government has been preparing a comprehensive relief package for those who were deprived of citizenship during Partition, the CM said, adding that the process of land allocation for families in districts like Bijnor, Pilibhit, Lakhimpur Kheri, and Rampur has already begun. Supporting the CAA, Adityanath said they are committed to giving respect and citizenship to refugees who came from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan after Partition. Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathakwere also present on the occasion.
