For decades, the
Their recent Joma kits, in addition to previous designs by Xtep, Puma and Kelme have deviated little from their classic concept.
Although occasionally the strips have featured a little blue trim.
Their last to feature a significant difference was in the 2000-01 season, when the Kelme shirt featured plenty of blue.

But this year's effort has gone away from the norm.
In a glossy kit reveal, the Yellow Submarine revealed that their new strip features a solid blue vertical stripe down its front.
The trailer showed a designer scribbling away on a piece of paper, while manically repeating "It's always the same".
When they finished their work they added "This changes everything" before the kit was revealed.

While a second quipped: "Thank goodness it says Villarreal because with such a big change I didn't even know who you were."
Tottenham's subtle reference to lasagne scandal in new kit launch hailed by fans
A third commented: "I love."
Although another added: "What a disaster of a shirt, what I don't understand is how a serious club like Villarreal continues with that brand…"

Nkunku's Bayern transfer stalls delaying Simons and Garnacho moves to Chelsea

Bayern Munich's move for Christopher Nkunku has stalled, delaying Chelsea's attempts to sign RB Leipzig's Xavi Simons and Manchester United's Alejandro Garnacho. Chelsea hope to off-load Nkunku, who is not in the club's plans for the season, and want the forward to leave on a permanent basis. Bayern had a loan offer with an option to buy rejected at the weekend and it remains to be seen if they are prepared to pay enough to sign the Frenchman. Internazionale are also interested in Nkunku, who has struggled for form and fitness since leaving Leipzig for £52m (€60.1m) two years ago. Coming to an agreement with Bayern over the 27-year-old would allow Chelsea to accelerate moves for Simons and Garnacho. Chelsea are not willing to meet United's asking price of £50m (€57.8m) for Garnacho, who has reportedly turned down a switch to Bayern, and they have been waiting to sell fringe players before making an official bid for Simons, who wants to move to Stamford Bridge. Chelsea are also open to offers for Nicolas Jackson, who is emerging as a target for Aston Villa. However, Jackson's asking price of £80m is putting off potential suitors. Other players expected to leave are Tyrique George, Axel Disasi, Ben Chilwell, Carney Chukwuemeka and Renato Veiga, the latter of whom is a target for Villarreal. Fulham are interested in Raheem Sterling. Wolves have signed the Cameroon defender Jackson Tchatchoua from Hellas Verona in a deal worth about £10m (€11.5m). The Belgium-born right wing‑back has spent the past two seasons in Serie A after starting his career at Charleroi. Tchatchoua is in effect a replacement for the former club captain Nélson Semedo, who rejected a new contract at Wolves in favour of a move to Fenerbahce. Tchatchoua, who produced the top speed in the Italian top flight last season at 36.3km/h, has signed a five-year deal. Vítor Pereira, the Wolves manager, is hopeful of making at least two more signings this window, with a forward and a midfielder high on the list of priorities. '[I am] waiting for the help of the club to sign new players,' Pereira said after the home defeat against Manchester City on Saturday. Wolves are wary of Jørgen Strand Larsen being high on Newcastle's shortlist but consider the striker not for sale. The Norway forward is among Newcastle's targets amid the protracted Alexander Isak saga after moves for Benjamin Sesko, among others, failed to materialise. Strand Larsen joined Wolves on a permanent basis in July, after the club triggered a £23m (€26.6m) deal to buy a player who scored 14 league goals last season while on loan from La Liga side Celta Vigo. Newcastle have so far failed in their attempts to sign Yoane Wissa from Brentford, with the London club holding out for what they deem a fair price for the forward, while Eddie Howe's side have been linked with a move for the out-of-favour Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson. It is thought that only a bid significantly above market value would give Wolves a decision to make on Strand Larsen, who is under contract until 2029. Wolves are open to offloading Hwang Hee-chan this summer, with Crystal Palace pursuing a loan deal for the South Korea forward. Matt Hobbs, the former Wolves sporting director who was influential in bringing Hwang to Molineux from RB Leipzig in 2022, is thought to be close to filling a similar role at Palace, after Dougie Freedman departed for the Saudi side Al-Diriyah. Hwang, who scored only two league goals last season, has dropped down the pecking order under Pereira and was the subject of an inquiry from Birmingham earlier in this window. Fenerbahce are pushing to complete a deal to sign West Ham's Edson Álvarez on loan with an option to buy. The midfielder is surplus to requirements at the London Stadium and freeing up his wages, which are understood to be around £115,000 (€133,120) a week, will increase Graham Potter's budget for new signings. West Ham value Álvarez at £20m (€23.1m) but the finances of the deal have made it hard to find clubs willing to buy the Mexico international. Fenerbahce have emerged as a temporary solution and talks with the Turkish club are progressing. Álvarez has not made a decision on his future, however, and also has loan interest from Porto and Borussia Dortmund. Álvarez has fallen from favour under Potter, who is desperate for additions in midfield after seeing his side crash to a 3-0 defeat at Sunderland in their opening game. West Ham had a £30m (€34.7m) bid rejected for Southampton's Mateus Fernandes last week and were beaten by Newcastle to the signing of Jacob Ramsey from Aston Villa. Other options are being explored but the chances of anyone joining before Potter's side host Chelsea on Friday are receding. Álvarez or Guido Rodríguez need to leave before West Ham move for certain targets, but West Ham are desperately short of energy and creativity in midfield. One of the midfielders signed to fill the void left by Declan Rice's £105m sale to Arsenal two years ago, Álvarez has flattered to deceive since joining from Ajax for £35m (€40.5m). His lack of pace has been exposed at times and he was sent off twice last season. He was on the bench against Sunderland, with Potter preferring James Ward-Prowse and Rodríguez in midfield. Rodríguez, who joined on a free transfer from Real Betis last summer, is also available. The Argentinian has interest from Spain and Turkey but his high wages have put off prospective buyers. Andy Irving, the 25-year-old Scottish midfielder, is also up for sale. Potter and West Ham's recruitment chief, Kyle Macaulay, are not working with a big budget this summer. They have signed four players since selling Mohammed Kudus to Tottenham for £54.5m (€63m).

Five transfer targets Arsenal could move for including Rodrygo and Lookman if they offload £100m worth of flops

Scroll down to see how realistic each target could be for Arsenal GUNNER GO FOR IT Five transfer targets Arsenal could move for including Rodrygo and Lookman if they offload £100m worth of flops MIKEL ARTETA has been backed to the tune of over £200m this summer already, but Arsenal are still open to bringing in another fresh face before the transfer deadline. The Gunners appear to still be in the market for another attacking option, with a left winger most likely, but it's clear they will have to sell before they can buy. 8 Mikel Arteta could still add another new face this summer Credit: Getty 8 The Gunners have spent big on players like Viktor Gyokeres Credit: Getty Advertisement 8 Leandro Trossard and Reiss Nelson are two stars that could be sold to raise funds Credit: The Times Despite having a lot of headroom regarding PSR regulations, Arsenal are tight on Uefa Financial Fair Play rules. Arrivals of players like Viktor Gyokeres, Martin Zubimendi and Noni Madueke have meant the Gunners' net spend is the second highest in the league this summer. Title rivals Liverpool, who have been spending for fun, find themselves in a far better position despite spending over £315m since the window first opened. Advertisement That's because The Reds have sold well, shifting on the likes of Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, Jarell Quansah and Ben Gannon Doak for big money. READ MORE ON FOOTBALL HE'S A KEEPER Man Utd have obvious solution to goalkeeper crisis, and it's not Donnarumma Arsenal will need to do the same with their pool of deadwood if they are to raise the funds to dip back into the market. Fabio Vieira, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Leandro Trossard, Jakub Kiwior, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Reiss Nelson all seem to be available for the right price. Should Arsenal manage to sell all six of those players for their current transfer value it could take their outgoings to well in excess of £100m, allowing them to re-enter the market. Advertisement Here, SunSport breaks down five potential targets the Emirates outfit could make a move for if they are able to raise the funds to re-line their pockets.... RODRYGO Real Madrid star Rodrygo has been linked with Arsenal for most of the window. The 24-year-old Brazilian would be seen by many as a big upgrade on Gabriel Martinelli if he is able to replicate his form for Madrid over the years. However, he has been short on minutes in the Spanish capital and actually scored less league goals that Martinelli last term. That said, Arsenal have picked up players hiding in the shadows of La Liga's superteams before and had great success. Advertisement Arteta would be hoping that Rodrygo can be a Martin Odegaard or Alexis Sanchez, and not a Dani Ceballos or Denis Suarez. 8 ANTHONY GORDON Arsenal are known to have a long-held interest in Anthony Gordon and Arteta is always fond of a Premier League ready arrival. Gordon has become a crucial part of Newcastle's rebuild under manager Eddie Howe but could be ready to take the next step in his career. The England international hasn't been in the greatest patch of form recently and new surroundings could be exactly what he needs. Advertisement However, the chances of Newcastle letting Gordon go are very low given the likelihood that they will already be waving goodbye to star man Alexander Isak before the window closes. 8 ADEMOLA LOOKMAN Arsenal were first linked with Ademola Lookman last summer and the winger has been exceptional for Atlanta since. His exit from the Serie A club looks likely, with the 27-year-old submitting a transfer request earlier in the window to try and force through a move to Inter Milan. Reports now claim that Inter have walked away from the deal after Atalanta rejected their £38m bid, potentially opening the door for Arsenal to swoop in. Advertisement Lookman has previous Premier League appearances from his brief spells with Leicester City, Fulham and Everton. 8 RAFAEL LEAO Rafael Leao has become one of the most consistent top performers in Serie A over the past five years. His versatility would mean that he could play anywhere across the front three for Arsenal and would offer even more depth to Arteta's side. He's still tied down to a contract with AC Milan until 2028 and so won't be a cheap option if the Gunners try to make a move. Advertisement But with Milan out of Europe altogether this season, the temptation of Champions League football could potentially turn Leao's head. 8 BRADLEY BARCOLA Admittedly this one seems unlikely, but if Arsenal can raise over £100m from player sales then it could tee them up for a marquee signing. Barcola, 22, is one of the most highly-rated wingers in Europe at the moment, having a hand in seven of PSG's goals on their journey to Champions League glory last season. And while a switch to Arsenal may not seem realistic, Barcola would be given the chance to be one of the stars in North London, rather than staying in the shadows of Ousmane Dembele, Desire Doue and Kvicha Kvaratskhelia in Paris. Advertisement He's already been linked with a Premier League switch this summer, with Liverpool reportedly sniffing around. But if Arsenal could get their hands on one of Europe's best gems it would go a long way in finally getting them over the line for a league title. 8

Alonso wants Madrid to do talking on the pitch

Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso wants his team's performance on the pitch to do the talking for him as he begins his first LaLiga campaign at home against Osasuna tonight. And the former Bayer Leverkusen coach won't be using Madrid's shortened pre-season as an excuse. Alonso, loved by Real fans for his trophy-laden playing years at the Bernabeu and with Spain, has been charged with reviving a Madrid side that ended last season without a major trophy. In the Club World Cup, which was Alonso's first competition as Real coach, they were knocked out by Paris St Germain in a 4-0 semi-final loss last month. Real, under Italian Carlo Ancelotti, finished four points behind LaLiga champions Barcelona and failed to retain their Champions League crown after a quarter-final exit. They also lost the Copa del Rey final to bitter rivals Barca. "I'm more about doing than talking," Alonso said on Monday. "Making promises before you act doesn't usually work in football. Just saying it is not going to make it happen. We want to start down that path tomorrow. "We are really excited and want to bring that energy to the stadium and earn their (the fans') support." Alonso has bolstered Real's defence with England right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold joining from Liverpool along with Bournemouth's 20-year-old Spain centre-back Dean Huijsen and left back Alvaro Carrera from Benfica. The reinforcements address last season's defensive troubles that deflated Real's title challenge. Defender Dani Carvajal, who is easing his way back after last season's ACL injury, has been named in Real's squad to face Osasuna. "It's great competition for the players, and I love that we have two who can play in each position," said Alonso. "Sometimes I will have to rotate. Carvajal is getting closer and closer to his best, and that's very good for the squad." However, Real will be without Antonio Ruediger (suspended) as well as injured left back Ferland Mendy, midfielders Eduardo Camavinga and Jude Bellingham plus forward Endrick. Other additions have been widely discussed. Media reports in Spain suggest Madrid are very close to sealing a deal for Liverpool centre-half Ibrahima Konaté. The Frenchman is out of contract in 2026, with Liverpool keen to avoid a repeat of the Trent Alexander-Arnold saga. Spanish outlet Fichajes claims the La Liga giants are 'offering' €25 million to get a deal done now. Madrid have also been linked with Arsenal centre back William Saliba, who would cost at least €100m, but have received no encouragement from north London. Real get their campaign under way later than their rivals after their requests to push back the opening fixture further were rejected by Spanish football officials. The team has played just one friendly since their 4-0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in New Jersey on July 9. "Obviously it would have been nice to receive some support with our request, especially for the players' health... after such a long season and to have a little more preparation time," Alonso said. "But anyway, in the end it wasn't to be and that's that. We've only had two weeks and there's no point looking for excuses now." Alonso also discussed Real's decision to denounce plans for a Barcelona-Villarreal LaLiga match in Miami in December. Real have warned that the proposal could undermine football's competitive balance and vowed to petition soccer's governing bodies to block the move. The December 20 fixture, approved by the Spanish Football Federation last week, could become the first LaLiga match held abroad and the first European league game in the United States. It requires approval from UEFA, US Soccer, CONCACAF and FIFA. "I very much agree with the club's (Real's) statement. If the rules are to be changed, it must be by unanimous agreement of all the participants (in the league). Otherwise, it cannot be done," Alonso said. Guardian
