New Delhi: The United States is the pioneer of modern-day cars. Over the last 5-6 decades, the car industry has made great strides, and many new features have been added over time. Talking about the latest trends among consumers, let us take a look at the 10 most reliable car models in America in 2025, as revealed by an analysis of 1,721 car models. The top 10 most reliable car models in America in 2025 Chevrolet Bolt EV: The Chevrolet Bolt EV achieved the highest score of 84.76 out of 100, making it the most reliable. This electric vehicle hit the top spot due to having a 5-star safety rating according to the NHTSA. There were also 2,882 dealerships nationwide that offered service support for the vehicle. The Bolt EV seats 5 passengers and offers 1,042 litres of trunk space, larger than the average amount. Chevrolet Bolt EUV: A slight variation from the model at the top spot, the Chevrolet Bolt EUV scored 84.68 out of 100. This larger variant maintains the perfect safety rating from NHTSA. With 1,037 litres of trunk space and access to Chevrolet's dealer network, the EUV ranks highly on every factor assessed. The only reason it did not meet the same mark as the model above is the slightly lower Tesla Model Y: The Tesla Model Y earned third place with a score of 75.49 out of 100. Despite having only 276 service locations nationwide (far lower than the average of 1,458 locations), the Model Y has strong driving performance (9/10), perfect safety ratings, and 1,448 litres of trunk space. Ford Mustang Mach-E: Ford's electric Mustang Mach-E secured fourth place with 75.27 points out of 50. It offers Ford's network of 2,847 dealerships and ensures service access. The vehicle provides 1,266 litres of cargo capacity, which is higher than the average of 1,049 litres. Ford Escape: The Ford Escape achieved 75.12 points out of 100. This SUV secures that reliability score with 1,457 litres of trunk space and seats 5 passengers. The Escape benefits from Ford's dealer network and maintains the highest safety ranking from the NHTSA at 5 out of 5. Toyota Sienna: The Toyota Sienna makes sixth place and is Toyota's most reliable model with 74.25 points out of 100. As one of only three vehicles offering 8-passenger seating, it provides space with 1,905 litres of trunk capacity. Toyota's 1,277 dealerships ensure service access above the average rate, too. Hyundai Ioniq 5: The Hyundai Ioniq 5 scored 73.78 out of 100 points and is Hyundai's most reliable car. With a perfect safety rating from NHTSA (5 out of 5), it offers 1,225 litres of trunk space. However, with only 853 dealerships nationwide, service accessibility may be more limited in some areas. Toyota Camry: The Toyota Camry earned 73.44 out of 100 reliability points. With Toyota's dealer network of 1,277, there are a lot of opportunities for Toyota drivers to seek support and assistance. While trunk space is limited at 428 litres, it does maintain a perfect safety rating and solid driving score, making it suitable for daily commuting. It achieves just a driving score of 7 out of 10 but exceeds expectations in the previously mentioned categories, leading it to its high position on the list. Toyota Prius: The Toyota Prius achieved 73.40 out of 100 reliability points. With perfect safety ratings, the 575-litre trunk provides adequate space for most needs. Ford Fusion: The Ford Fusion scored 72.96 out of 100 reliability points. This sedan offers strong driving performance (8/10) and service accessibility through Ford's dealer network. With 453 litres of trunk space, it provides balanced everyday transportation. What criteria did the study look at?
The study looked at car size, dealership capacity, safety ratings and more to determine which model is the most reliable for Americans. The analysis, conducted by vehicle performance data site 0-60 Specs, evaluated 1,721 car models across multiple factors to determine which vehicles offer the best combination of value, safety, performance, and practicality for drivers. What categories did the study examine? National dealership availability for service accessibility
NHTSA safety ratings for family protection
Passenger capacity for family needs

Jaguar Land Rover recalls 121,500 SUVs in US over suspension defect

Tata Motors-owned Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is recalling more than 121,500 vehicles in the United States to address a defect in the front suspension knuckles, the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said on Wednesday, according to a report by Reuters. JLR defect raises crash risk, says NHTSA The recall affects Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models. According to NHTSA, the aluminium front suspension knuckles, which link the front wheels to critical components such as the brake assembly, could crack, potentially increasing the risk of a crash. In June, NHTSA launched a preliminary evaluation into 91,856 JLR vehicles over fractured front steering knuckles. The investigation focused on 2014–2017 Range Rover Sport models produced by Jaguar Land Rover North America and aimed to assess the scope, severity and cause of the defect. US tariff, JLR revenue drop JLR, based in the UK, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of India's Tata Motors. The recall comes at a time when the automaker is grappling with a slowdown in demand and the impact of US tariffs. On Friday, Tata Motors reported a consolidated net profit of ₹4,003 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2025 (Q1 FY26). This was down 62.2 per cent from ₹10,587 crore in the same quarter a year earlier. Compared with the earlier quarter, profit fell 53.2 per cent to ₹8,556 crore. The company cited lower volumes across segments and a decline in JLR's profits, which were affected by US tariffs. JLR's revenue for the quarter declined 9.2 per cent year-on-year to £6.6 billion (about ₹67,320 crore), reflecting reduced wholesale volumes due to tariffs and the planned wind-down of legacy Jaguar models, the company said. PB Balaji appointed next CEO of JLR The automaker is also undergoing a leadership change. The company earlier this month announced the appointment of PB Balaji as chief executive officer (CEO), effective November 17, 2025. Balaji, currently group chief financial officer (CFO) of Tata Motors, will succeed Adrian Mardell, who will retire on December 31, 2025, after a 35-year career at the company, including three years as CEO. N Chandrasekaran, chairman of Jaguar Land Rover, Tata Motors and Tata Sons, thanked Adrian for the stellar turnaround of JLR and for delivering record results, and welcomed Balaji, saying, 'I am delighted to appoint Balaji as the incoming CEO. He has been associated with the company for many years and is well aligned with JLR's strategy. This move will ensure that we continue to accelerate our journey to 'Reimagine JLR'.'
