SHAH ALAM – The Karnival Siang Malam organised by Karangkraf is not only a platform to promote the company's products, but also serves as a vital bridge connecting the company with the community through a fresher and more inclusive approach.
Sinar Karangkraf Group Editor-in-Chief Zamri Rambli said that this is not the first programme organised by the company, but a continuation of previous Karangkraf carnivals.
'In 2023, Karangkraf held the Karnival Pendidikan Sinar Bestari, while in 2024 it was the Karnival Rakyat. This year, we present the Karnival Siang Malam, which comes with a new and refreshing touch and concept.
'Importantly, the Karnival Siang Malam is Karangkraf's initiative not only to promote its products such as Sinar Harian's newspaper, books and the Quran, but also to provide an opportunity for Karangkraf and its strategic partners to connect with the community,' he said.
The carnival is scheduled to take place from July 25 to 27, 2025, at Dataran Karangkraf, Seksyen 15, Shah Alam, Selangor. Karangkraf is set to host Karnival Siang Malam 2025, a massive community event happening over three consecutive days from July 25 at the Karangkraf headquarters in Seksyen 15, Shah Alam.
The event will run from 9am to midnight, and admission is free.
Zamri added that various exciting and engaging activities will be offered throughout the day and into the night.
'Unlike previous years where the carnival ended at 7pm, this year's Karnival Siang Malam will continue until midnight.
'Among the main highlights are the giant maze, haunted house, book fair, parade, Pasar Saloma, marching competition, booth exhibitions, coffee bazaar and many more,' he said.
He also expressed hope that the public would not miss the chance to attend the upcoming festival.
'In the past two years, we saw attendance reaching 100,000 visitors over three days. This year, we hope to see even more people from the Klang Valley and surrounding areas join us at Karnival Siang Malam,' he added.

From ‘Pi Mai Pi Mai Tang Tu' to more serious roles
ACTOR Sabri Yunus, who is best known for the sitcom Pi Mai Pi Mai Tang Tu decades ago, has decided to step away from comedy roles, Berita Harian reported. Sabri, 64, said he made the decision after considering the changing trends of fans, but stressed that this does not mean that he wants to get rid of his 'comedy DNA'. He said the change was necessary as he needs to move on to more serious roles. 'For me, comedy roles are not something you can continue forever. 'Comedy is seasonal and, at a certain point, it may no longer be appropriate for people to watch. 'If you play a serious role, it might be 'evergreen'. Comedy is for the young; when you're older, it feels awkward. 'Times have changed. I believe comedy should evolve. 'Those who play comedic roles should transition to other roles,' Sabri said at a press conference and premiere of his new film Denu. > A pair of pythons left behind 67 hatchlings after the reptiles were discovered by a cattle farmer in a village in Kuala Krai, Kelantan, Sinar Harian reported. Guchil volunteer firefighters chief of operations Mohd Hamdan Mahadi said the man encountered the snake measuring 7.3m in length and weighing about 200kg. Mohd Hamdan said that upon arriving at the scene, they found a nest with 67 python eggs. 'All of them had hatched. But seven of the baby pythons escaped into nearby bushes. 'We managed to capture 60 of the hatchlings,' he added. All the captured baby pythons, he said, will be released into their natural habitat in the forest. Syariah-compliant AI launched
KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia aims to lead the world in syariah-compliant artificial intelligence (AI) with the launch of NurAI, the first syariah-compliant large language model, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. He said NurAI builds on Malaysia's strengths as a global leader in halal certification, Islamic finance and syariah scholarship, positioning the nation to become a trusted digitalisation hub for the Islamic world. 'With consistent, strategic steps, Malaysia can lead in syariah-compliant AI, a field that will shape the future of the ummah, built on values and guided by divine revelation,' he said at the launch by Zetrix AI Bhd yesterday. He said the homegrown platform would safeguard Islamic principles while advancing national technological ambitions. 'We all know the 21st century is the Century of Data. Whoever controls data controls the narrative, whoever controls the narrative controls the future.' Ahmad Zahid said NurAI, developed entirely on Islamic values, goes beyond processing language to uphold adab (proper etiquette), respect the law and elevate Muslim culture. He said most AI systems are developed in the West or other major powers where priorities often do not align with Islamic principles, and cited studies showing bias or inaccuracies in online content about Islam. 'This risk arises when fatwa and rulings are quoted inaccurately or when subtle negative portrayals are embedded. There have been cases where AI contradicted syariah principles or cited unauthentic sources on aqidah. This is the gap we must close.' He outlined plans for a Global Syariah AI Reference Centre, AI integration in Islamic education, applications for mosque administration, zakat management, Quran teaching and international research collaborations grounded in Islamic values.
