Musk lashes out at tax bill supporters, threatens to unseat lawmakers

Musk warned that the proposed cuts to EVs and other clean energy credits would be "incredibly destructive" to the country, destroying millions of jobs and giving "handouts to industries of the past"

Elon Musk once again threatened to ramp up his political spending, this time targeting nearly every sitting Republican in Congress who has signaled support for President Donald Trump 's multi-trillion dollar tax bill.
'Every member of Congress who campaigned on reducing government spending and then immediately voted for the biggest debt increase in history should hang their head in shame!' Musk posted on his social media platform X. 'And they will lose their primary next year if it's the last thing I do on this Earth.'
But earlier this month, shortly after leaving his formal government role as an adviser to Trump, the billionaire lambasted the president's signature tax and spending deal in a series of posts that sparked an online feud and an explosive, hours-long public meltdown between the two men.
It is obvious with the insane spending of this bill, which increases the debt ceiling by a record FIVE TRILLION DOLLARS that we live in a one-party country – the PORKY PIG PARTY!! Time for a new political party that actually cares about the people.

Over the weekend, Musk warned that the proposed cuts to electric vehicle and other clean energy credits would be 'incredibly destructive' to the country, destroying millions of US jobs and giving 'handouts to industries of the past while severely damaging industries of the future.'
'I haven't spoken to him much, but I think Elon is a wonderful guy, and I know he's going to do well always,' Trump said on Fox News's Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo, which aired Sunday but was recorded on Friday before the billionaire's most recent posts. 'But he got a little bit upset, and you know that wasn't appropriate.'

BJP MPs walk out of Parliamentary panel meet over Medha Patkar, Prakash Raj's presence; meeting postponed

NEW DELHI: A parliamentary panel meeting on Rural Development and Panchayati Raj had to be postponed abruptly on Tuesday as BJP MPs boycotted its meeting in protest against the presence of activist Medha Patkar and actor-turned-activist Prakash Raj who were invited to appear before the committee. The meeting saw stormy scenes as former Union minister and BJP MP Parshottam Rupala along with other ruling party MPs stormed out with some calling Patkar as "anti-national". According to sources, a BJP MP told the meeting that 'Prime Minister of Pakistan could have been invited for the meeting." The panel, headed by Congress MP Saptagiri Sankar Ulaka was called to discuss the implementation and effectiveness of the land acquisition law enacted by Parliament when the Congress-led UPA government was in power in 2013. According to sources, within 40 minutes into the meeting, the BJP MPs began protests against the panel's decision to hear activist Medha Patkar, and called her "anti-national". While a BJP MP told this paper that they were not informed about the deposition of Medha Patkar and Prakash Raj, panel head Saptagiri Sankar Ulaka said that it is a normal practice for a committee to invite civil society members and other stakeholders on various issues.

Tripura Cong seeks SIT probe into BJP man's murder

Agartala: Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee president Asish Saha on Tuesday demanded a special investigation team (SIT) probe into the alleged murder of Ashish Das, a BJP worker from Surma in Dhalai district. He called for the SIT to be headed by a senior IPS officer. Ashish Das, who had switched from Congress to the BJP two years ago after the mysterious death of his younger brother Asim, had been missing for five days before his mutilated body was recovered last week. Police have yet to make any arrest in connection with the case. The victim's mother filed a police complaint naming Paritosh Pal, husband of local BJP MLA Swapna Das Pal, as a suspect. She alleged that Pal had previously been accused in Asim's death, and had issued threats to Ashish. However, no action was taken at the time, she said. While the police claim the investigation is progressing and that arrests are imminent, no formal action has been taken so far. Separate delegations from the Congress, led by Saha, and CPI(M), led by state secretary and opposition leader Jitendra Chaudhury, visited the bereaved family. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like local network access control Esseps Learn More Undo No representative from the ruling BJP — including the local MLA — has met the family so far. "We don't know the substance of the allegation of the victim's mother, but the role of local ruling party leaders, including MLA Swapna Das Pal, is not appreciable. Similarly, police are not even interrogating Pal despite the family and neghibours directly accusing him of the murder," Saha told the media. In a letter to Tripura DGP Amitabh Ranjan, Saha said Ashish Das had been missing since June 17 and was later found dead near a brick kiln owned by a person named Souvik Das. The family suspect the involvement of political influence and land mafias in the killing. Get the latest lifestyle updates on Times of India, along with Doctor's Day 2025 , messages and quotes!
