The Buccaneers will go into the game at the Moses Mabhida Stadium as clear favourites. Pirates have already won the MTN8 this season, are putting up a decent fight in the Betway Premiership title race, and reached the Caf Champions League semifinals.
Pirates are knockout kings
The Buccaneers have won the MTN8 three times in a row under Spanish coach Jose RIveiro, and are also going for three Nedbank Cups on the spin.
Nasreddine Nabi's Chiefs, meanwhile, have had a dismal campaign in the Premiership and are in danger of missing out on qualification for the MTN8 for the second campaign in a row. If Amakhosi lose to Pirates on Saturday, they will have gone a decade without a single piece of Premier Soccer League silverware.
'It's a cup final, so obviously it's a big game for both teams,' Fish told Showmax Premier League.
'However, if you look at the progress of the two teams, this game is massive for Chiefs, while for Pirates it's just another game.'
'Obviously the new coach has been there for (only) a season, but him and the players will understand that this is a very big game for them. It's a massive occasion.'

'Not difficult to predict a winner'
And Fish has no doubt that it is Pirates who will emerge triumphant on Saturday.
'It's not difficult to predict a winner in my opinion. Pirates are the favourites and I expect them to get the job done and handle the expectations of a cup final.'
Catch the Nedbank Cup final between Kaizer Chiefs and Pirates, live on Showmax Premier League on Saturday, 10 May, at 15:30.

Jessica Motaung talks about Kaizer Chiefs money
Ask most Kaizer Chiefs fans if they believe Amakhosi avoid spending on player transfers, and they will likely concur. Is this true of the Betway Premiership giants? The club's Marketing and Commercial Director, Jessica Motaung, has dismissed that as a false perception. According to Motaung, Kaizer Chiefs spend plenty of money but may be subject to unfair market prices for players. Orlando Pirates legend sends a serious message to Sipho Mbule Left to right: Kaizer Chiefs football manager Bobby, the chairman, Kaizer, and the Sporting Director, Kaizer Jr. Images: BackpagePix 'Chiefs pay a lot of money, sir,' Motuang said via Soccer Laduma . 'So, I'm actually quite surprised so I think it is absolute nonsense. If I look at our budgets and I look and the investments we are making into players and the transfer space. Dylan Cox joins Orlando Pirates 'I also think the South African market needs to evaluate itself. Are the negotiations fair? Are the prices people are asking for players fair? We have to look at our industry but we have certainly made sure and you can see from our investments in the last season. 'Not only in the players but in the technical team. You can see that Chiefs are putting money where its mouth is. It is a matter of making sure we evaluate and make sure our spend gives us the return that we need,' Motaung added. 'For me I would say at Kaizer Chiefs we work as a team, and we must be honest about that, that sometimes things work out and at times they don't. 'I think the guys on the technical side are working very hard and they have the support of the board and the chairman and all of us even at the marketing side. We must be fair in that the market has changed and the climate has changed, and every team goes through cycles and changes. 'There was a time when certain teams were not at the top and experiencing challenges and we are fortunate in that we have had years and years of absolute success. It is just now that we have had a period of challenges, and it is great that we have won the Nedbank Cup. 'We need to be careful in saying we didn't have good players when those players won us the Nedbank Cup,' Motaung added. Kaizer Chiefs open talks for THIRD ex-Orlando Pirates star!
Kaizer Chiefs are already set to welcome two former Orlando Pirates players with a third now reportedly targeted! Chiefs are looking to improve their fortunes ahead of what could be a very busy 2025/26 football season If reports are to be believed, Chiefs have already signed at least five players, with increasing links on others. Pirates duo Paseka Mako and Thabiso Monyane are believed to be their earliest signings. The two defenders will join on a free transfer. There are also rumours that Mamelodi Sundowns striker Etiosa Ighodaro and Cape Town Spurs' Asanele Velebayi are Khosified. They have also reportedly agreed deals for Ethan Chislett after leaving Port Vale and Nkanyiso Shinga a Portuguese-based left-back. Furthermore they are believed to be advancing in negotiations to sign Indonesia-based Portuguese striker Flavio Silva. Now according to SABC Sport , that is not the only player Chiefs have opened talks with. According to the same publication, Chiefs have began club to club dialogue with SuperSport United. This as they attempt to sign for Pirates midfielder Siphesihle Ndlovu. 'SABC Sport can reveal that Kaizer Chiefs have formally opened talks with SuperSport United to sign midfielder Siphesihle Ndlovu. It's believed Amakhosi are hoping to wrap up the Ndlovu discussions in time for the player to join the rest of the squad in Europe. Matsatsantsa had earlier triggered the option to extend the player's contract by a further year after managing to avoid relegation on the final day of last season, so Chiefs will have to negotiate a fee to get him on board. According to information gathered by the public broadcaster, the two parties are now in advanced stages of negotiations, and pending finer details Ndlovu could very well be joining another Soweto giant since leaving Pirates in 2022.'
