Salman Khan's ‘Tiger' and Shah Rukh Khan's ‘Pathaan' will NOT make cameo in ‘War 2'; Bobby Deol to get epic Spy Universe entry: Report

Time of Indiaa day ago
The much-awaited 'War 2' is already creating buzz for bringing
Hrithik Roshan
and
Jr NTR
together on screen for the first time. Putting an end to the rumour mills with a surprise twist, reports suggest that Salman Khan's Tiger and
Shah Rukh Khan
's Pathaan won't be making appearances. Instead,
Bobby Deol
will make a game-changing entry.
No Tiger or Pathaan cameo this time
For months, there had been talk that 'War 2' would feature explosive end-credit cameos from the YRF Spy Universe's biggest names, Salman Khan's Tiger or Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan. However, sources now reveal that neither of the fan-favourite agents will show up.
Hrithik and Jr NTR ignite the dance floor in 'War 2' teaser!
According to a Bollywood Hungama report, 'War 2 won't feature either of Tiger or Pathaan's character portrayed by Salman Khan and Shah Rukjh Khan respectively, however, their names will be used at some key junctures of the film.
The end credit sequence of War 2 will act as a build up for the next chapter of YRF Spy Universe – Alpha. Aditya Chopra is staying true to his vision of continuing the story forward, rather than opting for gimmicks by bringing all 3 superstars in the same film.
He is reserving the union of all 3 superstars for a mega project, which is in the development stage.'
Setting up the next big chapter
The absence of Tiger and Pathaan isn't just a missing star moment, it's part of a bigger plan.

The end credits will lead directly into the next spy thriller, 'Alpha', instead of being a flashy cameo scene. This means fans can expect the storyline to keep flowing naturally, rather than being interrupted by quick appearances.
Bobby Deol enters with a bang
Rather than banking on Salman or Shah Rukh's brief appearances, the makers have decided to use 'War 2' to introduce a new and important character. And it's none other than Bobby Deol.
The report further states, 'With War 2, Aditya Chopra will be establishing Bobby Deol to the Universe. It's an epic introduction to Bobby Deol's character, who is one of the main villains in the timeline going forward. Aditya Chopra is known to go against the tide, and instead of establishing his two female leads of Alpha,
Alia Bhatt
and Sharvari – he is going ahead by unleashing the negative force of the film, Bobby Deol.'
About 'War 2' and its big stars
Directed by Ayan Mukerji, 'War 2' is the sixth film in the YRF Spy Universe. It is set to release in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu on 14 August 2025. The movie stars Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and
Kiara Advani
in key roles.
The story sees a powerful face-off between Hrithik Roshan's Major Kabir Dhaliwal and Jr NTR's Vikram. Both are Indian spies, but their beliefs about patriotism clash sharply, turning their rivalry into a battle of ideals as well as action. Kiara Advani plays Kavya Luthra, a central figure who plays an important role in how events unfold.

Sandhya Mridul recalls how she was just 'done' with Bollywood after some bitter experiences but Yash Chopra persuaded her to do 'Saathiya': 'I told him role is boring'

Sandhya Mridul 's journey began on the small screen, where she rose to prominence with Mahesh Bhatt 's acclaimed television series Abhiman. In a candid conversation, she revealed that Bhatt's habit of praising her acting in front of influential industry figures led to a wave of film offers. But the reality of the Hindi film industry didn't sit well with her, especially the tendency to reduce female actors to mere 'pretty faces.' After repeatedly being approached for superficial roles and even being asked to appear in bikinis, she unexpectedly got a call from Yash Raj Films for a pivotal role in Saathiya. 'I got a call saying that Yash Raj Films is trying to call me. I thought somebody is pranking me because I was a TV actor and I had not worked for three months during that time,' she recalled. When she finally met Yash Chopra , her first thought was, 'I met Yash ji himself and I was like why is he meeting me?' Chopra's warmth took her by surprise. 'Chopra told me, 'Bache I love you. I love your work. I don't leave a scene of your TV show, Koshish. My wife wants to meet you. Also, she loves you, we love you.' He was lovely. He told me, 'Beta, ye picture kar le. This film will do well.'' To his astonishment, Sandhya turned him down. 'Mereko pictures nahin karni hai,' she told him, explaining that she simply didn't understand Bollywood. Laughing at the memory, she added, 'I said this to the king of Bollywood.' by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Dermatologist: Just Add 1 Drop Of This Household Item To Any Dark Spot And Wait 3 Minutes Undo But instead of being offended, Yash Chopra only admired her honesty. 'You are a truthful person. We are not like that. Hum achhe se rahenge, hum bade pyaar se tereko rakhenge,' he assured her, persuading her to at least meet the film's director. That meeting with Shaad Ali took an unexpected turn when Sandhya realised they shared a past connection, which made her more open to the idea. Still, after watching the Tamil original, she wasn't impressed with the character. 'I came to Shaad and told him role 'it is boring',' she admitted. It was Yash Chopra's final words that sealed the deal for her. Sandhya recalled, "He told me, 'You do this role according to you. You will breathe life into this role, and that's why I am bringing you in.' His encouragement made all the difference."

Rajinikanth's Coolie Becomes First Tamil Film To Cross $2 Million In US Premiere Pre-Sales

Last Updated: Rajinikanth's Coolie makes history as the first Tamil film to cross $2M in US premiere pre-sales, surpassing Kabali, Leo and Ponniyin Selvan: Part 1. Lokesh Kanagaraj's Coolie, headlined by Rajinikanth, is already rewriting box office history before its release. Sun Pictures, the film's producers, confirmed that the action drama has crossed $2 million in premiere pre-sales in North America — making it the first-ever Tamil film to achieve this milestone. With two days still to go before its worldwide release on August 14, Coolie has overtaken the advance booking numbers of Vijay's Leo and Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan: Part 1. More significantly, Rajinikanth has broken his own record set by Kabali in 2016, which held the previous top spot at $1.9 million for US premieres. Sharing the news on social media, Sun Pictures wrote, '#Coolie varraan solliko! #Coolie is the First Tamil film to cross $2 million in premiere pre-sales in North America. #Coolie releasing worldwide August 14th." Fans erupted with excitement online, hailing it as a 'Rajinikanth mass" moment. One user declared, 'The movie will create a new history," while another celebrated, 'Already record broken." A devoted fan noted, 'With 2 days left, #Coolie overtakes #Kabali and creates history. Record maker & Record breaker #Thalaivar #Rajinikanth." By surpassing $2 million with days to spare, Coolie has secured its place ahead of Tamil cinema's previous premiere pre-sale leaders. After Kabali, the list had Leo (2023) in second place, The GOAT (2024) third, Ponniyin Selvan: Part 1 (2022) fourth, and Jailer (2023) fifth. About Coolie According to the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC), Coolie follows 'a mysterious man [who] takes a stand against a corrupt syndicate exploiting and abusing the workers of a port town" in an intense action drama. The film marks Lokesh Kanagaraj's first collaboration with Rajinikanth and boasts an ensemble cast featuring Nagarjuna, Nimma Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan, and Aamir Khan in pivotal roles. With massive advance sales, star power, and Kanagaraj's action-packed storytelling, Coolie is set for a grand opening not just in India, but globally. The hype suggests August 14 could witness one of Tamil cinema's biggest premieres to date. First Published: August 12, 2025, 23:45 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Starting from August 7 to 10, the beta phase boasted over a whopping half-a-million million players. And this feat becomes more impressive when it's realized that this is just the PC users. Now, as we are approaching the second week of the Battlefield 6 open beta, it is expected that the player-count is going to reach newer heights, breaking more records. And for that, EA is leaving no stones unturned as the company has planned to bring more content in the second stint of the beta phase. After the disastrous display from Battlefield 2042, bringing back fans of this long-standing franchise to Battlefield 6 was the main job of EA. After the first phase of the open beta, it seems the job is more than done. But the developers aren't stopping there, because more brand new content is slated to be featured in the second phase of the open beta. Here are they: New Modes As leaked a month earlier , the popular Rush mode will be back this time. Just like in Counter-Strike and Valorant, there will be two teams where the defenders will stop the attackers from destroying the pairs of military communication channels named M-COM stations with explosives. Failing to stop the bomb from exploding or letting the stations get destroyed would reduce the limited numbers of respawn cards given per phase. Along with it, everyone's favorite Squad Deathmatch mode will be there where four teams will get face-to-face to reach the elimination goal. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 20 Legendary Cars from the Past Undo Not only that, a new form of the popular Breakthrough mode will be available as well, where players can only equip class-specific weapons. New Rewards Following the seven challenges in the first weekend of the open beta, the second week will also feature three challenges. Completing these challenges will again grant high-value rewards, which will be carried forward to players' inventory when the game gets fully released on October 10, just like the previous weekend's rewards. Here are the new challenges and the rewards: Challenges Reward Capture 42 flags in Domination, Conquest, or King of the Hill War Machine Vehicle Skin Get 200 kills or assists Bat Company Dog Tag Capture 10 sectors in Rush or Breakthrough Striking Distance Weapon Package This is it for all the new content that is coming to the second weekend of Battlefield 6. Along with these new elements, previous content like the three maps, the previous game modes like Conquest, Domination, etc. will all be there. Battlefield 6 open beta second weekend begins on August 14, 2025 at 4 AM ET and will run until August 17 at 4 AM ET. Unlike the first phase, there will be no early-access option for the players. So, everyone can hop it around that given time. However, you might need to uninstall Valorant before playing the second phase of Battlefield 6 open beta.
