Amid buzz of a possible reunion of Uddhav and Raj Thackeray, posters have come up in Mumbai urging both the leaders to join hands
Posters demanding Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leader Raj Thackerey join hands, erected in Girgaon area of Mumbai.
If this demand is met, it could lead to a significant shift in the political landscape of Maharashtra. This comes ahead of municipal elections in the state.
Through this poster, people have demanded both the brothers to come together who reportedly grew apart due to political and personal reasons.
The text written on the poster read," The 8 crore Marathi population of Maharashtra wants both the brothers together again."
Dropping hints of a possible merger, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav said on Friday that 'whatever people of Maharashtra wish will happen."
For the past days, speculations are rife about a possible alliance between his party and the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) led by his estranged cousin, Raj Thackeray. Addressing reporters, the former Maharashtra Chief Minister said there was no confusion among the workers of either party. 'There is no confusion in our and our Shiv Sainiks' hearts. There is no confusion in his (MNS) mind either. We will not give any message, we will give the news directly," Uddhav said.
The comes as both Thackeray cousins have recently hinted at the possibility of setting aside past differences and working together, nearly two decades after parting ways. Uddhav's latest remarks have further fuelled speculation of a political rapprochement.
While Raj Thackeray has previously said that coming together in the interest of the Marathi manoos (Marathi-speaking people) wouldn't be difficult, Uddhav has stated he is willing to overlook 'trivial fights," provided those working against Maharashtra's interests are not entertained.
Reacting to the development, Maharashtra Chief Minister and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis said it was up to both the cousins to decide their next political move and that he personally had got nothing to do with that.
'Raj Thackeray heads the MNS and Uddhav Thackeray is the chief of Shiv Sena (UBT). They will decide if the railway engine (MNS symbol) and the flaming torch (Sena UBT symbol) will have an alliance. It is up to the leaders of the two parties to take a call. What is the point in you and me discussing the issue," news agency PTI quoted Fadnavis as saying.

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: During his visit to Tuljapur in Dharashiv, BJP minister Nitesh Rane said Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Aaditya Thackeray might face imprisonment in the coming monsoon period. Rane suggested that discussions about Shiv Sena (UBT) and MNS merger are being circulated to deflect attention from ED's investigation of actor Dino Morea, whom he identified as Aaditya Thackeray's friend. "All details have arrived in the (Dino Morea) case, and (Sena-UBT chief) Uddhav Thackeray's son could soon experience a jail trip this monsoon," he said. The fisheries and ports minister emphasised on the connection between Aaditya Thackeray and Morea. "They hate the Hindu religion, criticise mega events like Maha Kumbh," he added. Leader of opposition in the state legislative council Ambadas Danve, however, dismissed Rane's statements, describing him as politically inexperienced and suggesting that even BJP members don't take his comments seriously. Berlin [Germany], June 8 (ANI): Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Priyanka Chaturvedi has said that India's Armed Forces have given a befitting reply to those who have cast an evil eye on the country and that there will be a firm response to any terror attack. Priyanka Chaturvedi, who is a member of an all-party delegation visiting partner countries to highlight India's zero tolerance policy against terrorism, told members of the Indian diaspora in Germany that India gave a firm response to the Pahalgam terror attack through Operation Sindoor. 'Our armed forces gave a befitting reply to those who have time and again attacked our country . Our response has been mature, responsible,' she said. 'We are the land of Mahatma, we are the land of Buddha, but we are also the land of Krishna,' she added. She said the terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir was targeted in Operation Sindoor. She said India was, in a way, carrying out the work of the UN, by targeting terror camps. UBT flays Sena over Durgadi temple visit curbs on Eid
Kalyan: Members from both Shiv Sena's Eknath Shinde and UBT factions held separate protests near Durgadi fort in Kalyan on Saturday. The fort houses religious sites for both Hindus and Muslims. During Bakr Eid, Muslim worshippers gather in large numbers to pray at the fort's Idgah section. Consequently, Hindu devotees are restricted from entering the Durga temple located at the fort's front to maintain peace. On Saturday, police prevented both Sena factions from crossing the barricades near the fort. The Sena UBT's up neta Vijay Salvi criticised Shiv Sena, noting that while the Ghanta Naad movement was initiated by Anand Dighe in 1982, with deputy CM Eknath Shinde leading it for many years, the state administration has now been restricting devotee entry despite his positions as CM and deputy CM showing duplicity on Hindutva."
