Saints discover fixtures ahead of 2025/26 Premier League 2 campaign
Saints reached the PL2 play-off final last season, losing 2-0 to Manchester City, and start the season with an away game for the third straight season.
With only 20 games in the regular season, Saints will not play all of the 25 other teams in the division.
New boss Tonda Eckert takes on Sunderland in his first home game, on Friday, August 22, before a trip to Ipswich a week later.
Southampton will play a repeat of their final defeat to Man City on Friday, September 26, with the game set to be played on the Citizens' home patch once again.

The trailer for Jordan Peele's football horror movie 'Him' is a blood bath
The trailer for Jordan Peele's football horror movie 'Him' is a blood bath originally appeared on The Sporting News Jordan Peele just unveiled the new trailer for his upcoming football movie "Him," and it's a bloodbath. Directed by Justin Tipping and produced by Peele, "Him" chronicles a young football player (Tyriq Withers) who is invited by an aging player (Marlon Wayans) to learn about the journey to achieving success by any means necessary. Also starring other noteworthy names like Julia Fox, Jim Jefferies, Akeem Hayes, Tierra Whack and more, this official trailer follows the teaser that was unveiled in April, which itself came just a couple of weeks after initial footage was shown during Universal's CinemaCon presentation. While at CinemaCon, Wayans jokingly compared "Him" to the 1990s classic "Rudy," which was shut down completely by Withers. "It's kinda like 'Rudy,' he told the crowd, which led to Withers quipping back, "It's nothing at all like 'Rudy.' As for the official trailer, the comments indicate major excitement. "Marlon Wayans being in this movie is exactly why I love comedic actors in serious roles. He totally CRUSHED IT in Requiem for a Dream," said one YouTube commenter. Mexican president backs threatened female football referee
A female Mexican football referee who fell victim to online threats after refereeing a men's match between Monterrey and Cincinnati received the backing of her country's president on Wednesday. Katia Itzel Garcia has said she was the target of insults and death threats following Monterrey's 2-3 defeat to Cincinnati in a match of the Leagues Cup, a North American competition, last Thursday. Her decision to award a goal to the US team that some claimed appeared to have been scored from an offside position sparked anger among Mexican supporters. "In Mexico, in a country where ten women die every day and where 91 women and men die every day, violence should not be normalized. Violence should not exist anywhere," the 32-year-old referee wrote on Instagram. She said netizens had threatened to kill her and her family. Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum expressed her support for Garcia on Wednesday, calling her "extraordinary... she has to be three times better than a man to be recognized." Sheinbaum said the government would contact Garcia "to see if she needs help." In a message on Instagram, FIFA President Gianni Infantino said Monday he was "shocked and saddened by the threats made against referee Katia Itzel." The Mexican Football Federation also condemned "acts of intimidation and threats" directed at the referee. Mexico, the United States and Canada will host the next FIFA World Cup in 2026. According to the UN, ten femicides are reported in Mexico on average each day. ai/yug/db/ma/dar/aha
