Gigaba interdicts ex-wife Noma to not talk about failed marriage on TV show
Former finance minister Malusi Gigaba has applied to interdict his ex-wife Nomachule Mngoma from going on TV to be interviewed about their failed marriage and allegations of infidelity and pornography.
In court papers filed in the Johannesburg high court last week, Gigaba said his ex-wife's interview on Showmax's new show Untied will 'taint my good name and dignity that I have been rebuilding from the past years after [divorce]'.
The eight-part talk show, which is hosted by broadcaster Relebogile Mabotja, was supposed to premiere on Tuesday, but according to News24, Gigaba managed to halt the airing of the episode — for now.
The urgent application and the episode had been postponed until July 7.
The eight women Mabotja will sit down with include Mngoma, Nonku Williams, Palesa Madisakwane, Sonia Booth, Dawn Thandeka King, Zandi Nhlapo, Mona Monyane and Beverley Steyn.
Gigaba said since 2018, he had decided to remove himself from the spotlight and rebuild his name. 'In short, the third respondent [Mngoma] has recorded a podcast with the first [MultiChoice] and second [Goat Originals] about my private life, years after we formally separated and ultimately divorced.
'It is important to state that I made a conscious decision to not publicly talk about the third respondent's life after our divorce, for her own integrity and for the integrity of our minor children.'

EU energy funds do not, and will not, dictate SA's energy mix: Ramokgopa
Minister of energy and electricity Kgosientsho Ramokgopa has told parliament that the $5bn (R88.6bn) funding package the EU announced for South Africa does not come with conditions that will restrict the use of any energy technology. The minister said this in a written reply to a question from EFF MP Carl Niehaus, who asked whether the financial package from the EU includes conditions that restrict South Africa from developing new coal and nuclear power projects. He also asked the minister what the department's position was regarding the energy mix and whether the government had a concrete strategy for using the funds to enhance energy security, industrial capacity and economic development. Ramokgopa said the financial support announced by the EU was part of South Africa's broader Just Energy Transition (JET) Investment Plan, which is 'a country-owned and country-led framework'. He said South Africa had its priorities in transitioning towards a low-carbon, climate-resilient economy. 'The specific financial contributions referenced, including grants, concessional loans and technical assistance instruments, do not contain conditions that explicitly prohibit or restrict the republic from pursuing new coal or nuclear power developments.' The EU announced the package for South Africa in the spirit of supporting the country's transition from fossil-fuel intensive power production to low-carbon energy sources. However, these kinds of arrangements have been construed as being prescriptive on the receiving countries when it comes to the type of energy they invest in. Ramokgopa said South Africa retains full sovereign discretion over its energy policy choices and mix, as affirmed in the Integrated Resource Plan (IRP), which is under review and remains the central planning tool for energy investments. 'While the EU, like other development partners, may align its financial instruments with its internal climate policies, these do not translate into binding conditions on the republic's policy space.' He said South Africa's energy policy remains firmly guided by the principles of security of supply, affordability, environmental sustainability and technological neutrality. 'Coal repurposing, clean coal technologies and nuclear energy, including new generation and life extension programmes, continue to be part of our planning mix as supported by national legislation and policy.' He stressed that the government has adopted a structured, cross-cutting governance framework to oversee the implementation of the JET Investment Plan. TimesLIVE

MK Party spokesperson Ndhlela says Shivambu wanted to destroy the party
He said Shivambu was allowed into the party to advance the agenda of changing the lives of South Africans. However, it would be a problem if anyone came into the party with intentions that are not aligned with the party. 'Many of them have tried, and many of them will continue to try, but it won't work. We gave him a platform, we welcomed him, made him part of the family, but all he could dish us was just a plate of faeces. We had to understand and let it play out.' In a recent interview with eNCA, Shivambu accused Ndhlela of taking drugs and always being high on alcohol. Shivambu also alleged that there was an intelligence report taken to party leader Jacob Zuma by Ndhlela. However Ndhlela said the intelligence report was actually transcripts between Shivambu and people in Malawi talking about using Zuma's daughter Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla's hat to bewitch her. 'He was using all sorts of ways and means to try to hijack the party. Whether it is black magic, and it's true, he did go and do those things. He never disputed them in the meeting.' Ndhlela has vowed to take legal action against Shivambu over his allegations, saying, 'I'm not going to leave this. I'm not a druggy. I'm going to take it further.'
