Washington Commanders' quarterback Jayden Daniels is coming off one of the best rookie seasons ever, and that means expectations are high entering Year 2.

After a 12-win season and NFC Championship appearance, the next step is logical - a Super Bowl. For a quarterback in his second season, that is quite the bar to reach, but the franchise has made moves to help propel him to that bar.
Deeob Samuel and Laremy Tunsil come in, and now, with the expected improvement that quarterbacks take from Year 1 to Year 2, Jayden, for some, is close to entering elite status.
While we think that is a little premature, Bleacher Report's Damien Parson, in assessing the confidence meter of second-year quarterbacks on a scale of one (no confidence) to 10 (supremely confident), Jayden's is reading a 10.
"The reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year had one of the best seasons by a first-year quarterback in NFL history," Parson writes. "Barring anything catastrophic, Daniels is expected to play at a high level again in 2025. One caveat: Nothing is for certain.

"C.J. Stroud experienced a sophomore slump last season, but his offense took a step back as a whole. Daniels and the Commanders need to avoid the same thing from happening in the nation's capital."

We don't disagree.
We know what happened to Stroud last season, but there is enough around Daniels to cushion the fall if it were to happen.
Granted, replicating his efforts last year will be seriously tough, but playoffs and a deep run are now the minimum expectation for a franchise that was in the NFL wilderness just two seasons ago.
How times change.
And the reason for that is the confidence meter for Daniels propelling this team towards glory is high.

Players like second-year runner Ray Davis, Ty Johnson, and Darrynton Evans all bring something unique to Buffalo's backfield. Add in the league MVP Josh Allen with his athleticism, and the Bills should still be able to compete for a Super Bowl even without Cook in for certain games and practices. That is the reality of the situation. While Cook is a very good running back, he doesn't have the kind of talent that a Christian McCaffrey or a Saquon Barkley have for their respective teams. And if a team doesn't have a player like Barkley or McCaffrey in the backfield, then they shouldn't re-sign their current runner to a lucrative deal.
