‘I'm not joking' – Boxing champion sensationally backs Jake Paul to KO heavyweight star Anthony Joshua

JAKE PAUL has sensationally been backed to knock out Anthony Joshua by a boxing world champion.
The YouTuber-turned-prizefighter audaciously called out two-time heavyweight champ AJ earlier in the year on his podcast.

It sparked a behind-the-scenes back and forth which has since escalated to genuine talks between the two camps to make the fight happen.
But the likes of Derek Chisora have pleaded with Paul to think twice about seriously facing 6f6 6in and 18 STONE Joshua.
WBA welterweight world champ Rolly Romero on the other hand has actually backed Paul to somehow beat AJ.
Romero, 29, told Boxing Social: I think they should fight. 'I got Jake Paul. I got Jake Paul. I'm not even joking, I got Jake Paul. Knockout.
"I'm telling you, straight up, I'm not messing around Jake Paul for real."
Paul is 12-1 in his career with his lone loss in the ring coming against Tommy Fury in 2023.
And Fury's brother Tyson unsurprisingly threw a dig Joshua's way by joining Romero in predicting a Paul KO.
He told Ring Magazine: "I just think Jake Paul would knock AJ out. I think AJ is a spent force, and Jake Paul is on the rise.

"I like his new heavyweight look - bit chubby, bit bulky. [He's] getting there."
Fury even claimed he would bet £1MILLION on Paul to beat his long-time rival AJ.
Derek Chisora says Jake Paul is doing 'great things for boxing' but pleads with him not to fight Anthony Joshua
Joshua, 35, is yet to return since his KO loss to Daniel Dubois, 27, in September and has recently undergone elbow surgery.
Paul, 28, meanwhile beat ex-middleweight champ Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, 39, over ten rounds in June at cruiserweight.
He dropped TWO STONE after beating Mike Tyson in November when the heavyweight great controversially returned to the ring aged 58.
But Chisora, 41, warned that fighting Joshua is a completely different story in a desperate plea to Paul.
He told SunSport's Split Decision show: "Listen, Jake Paul is doing so many great things for boxing, I don't care what anybody he says.
"He should fight Roy Jones next. I would tell him not to fight Joshua. Because Joshua would actually smoke him out for the sake of it.
"I'd tell him, you've got a good thing going on. Fight Roy Jones, fight Floyd Mayweather, fight all these guys. Don't fight AJ."

Maro Itoje ruled out of Lions third Test amid physical contest against Australia

Maro Itoje has been ruled out of the Lions' third and final test against Australia after failing a head injury assessment. The Lions captain was taken to see the medical officer towards the end of the first-half amid pouring rain and big collisions in Sydney. But the news came as the half-time whistle went that Itoje had failed his check, with Ollie Chessum replacing him. Hooker Dan Sheehan replaces Itoje as skipper. Lions wing Tommy Freeman, replaced by Owen Farrell due to a bloody nose, will also not take any further part in the Test match. Itoje was one of four players to have played every minute of the Test series for the Lions, so his absence will come as a huge blow as the Lions look to come back from 8-0 down at half-time. Australia fly-half Tom Lynagh also failed a HIA late in the first-half, amid a physical contest in the final match on the 2025 tour. The British and Irish Lions are chasing a 3-0 whitewash while Australia are playing for pride, as they build towards the Rugby Championship in two weeks' time.

Sophie Cunningham sends message to WNBA fans after sex toy brings another game to a halt

Indiana Fever star Sophie Cunningham has spoken out after a WNBA game was halted by a sex toy for the second time in a week. On Friday evening, the Chicago Sky's game against the Golden State Valkyries was disrupted after an inappropriate object was thrown from the stands onto the court. The bizarre scenes left fans, players, coaches and commentators shocked, while officials swiftly dealt with the fluorescent green object that interfered with play. The shocking incident came just days after the Valkyries game against the Atlanta Dream was similarly brought to a stop after a sex toy was thrown from the stands. Now, Cunningham has had enough. The Indiana Fever star took to social media to vent about the issue, shortly after the incident in Chicago on Friday night. The Fever star said: 'stop throwing dildos on the court… you're going to hurt one of us'. Cunningham called for fans to 'stop throwing' the sex items onto the court in WNBA games The post on X went viral and garnered over three million views on the social media platform in the space of three hours. While no one has actually been hit by the provocative projectiles yet, Cunningham raises a fair point that it could potentially injure a player. On Friday night, after the sex toy was thrown, officials swiftly stopped the game and swept it aside, as players and coaches stood bemused at the bizarre incident. The commentators were equally as puzzled as they said: 'We have a whistle away from the basketball. An object has been thrown onto the court'. Sky star Kamilla Cardoso, however, evidently saw the funny side to the incident after being seen giggling with teammates while they game was brought to a stop. Officials eventually swept the fluorescent green object to the side before one team member picked it up - using a towel - and disposed of it. Cunningham, meanwhile, had made headlines of her own recently after she claimed that those who believe Caitlin Clark is not the face of the WNBA are 'dumb as f***'. Since her arrival in the league last year, Clark has dominated on the court and, as a result, has often found herself targeted by her WNBA rivals and fans on social media. Last month, after Clark found herself embroiled in another on-court scuffle, it was Cunningham who retaliated and fought back for her Fever teammate. Now, Cunningham has taken her defense of Clark to the next level after she ripped into the 23-year-old's doubters during a recent podcast. Speaking on the Show Me Something podcast, Cunningham said: 'It literally p****s me off when people say she isn't the face of the league. 'There's really good, well known people in our league - I'm not discrediting them. We have a lot of bad a**es in our league [and] I'm all for that. 'But when people try to argue that she's not the face of our league, you're dumb as s***. You're literally dumb as f***'. Though many have tried to discredit Clark's talent and hard work on the court, her growing status was best illustrated by the fact she was named an All-Star captain.

Dalman dismisses Cardiff takeover talk as 'fiction'

Cardiff City chairman Mehmet Dalman has dismissed as "fiction" the idea that the club is close to being Wales and Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale has publicly stated that a consortium he is fronting has made offers to buy the Bluebirds, while there have been reports of takeover bids from a South Africa-based admitted there had been informal approaches from potential suitors – only one, unnamed, which they are taking "seriously" – but said club owner Vincent Tan was not interested in chairman also rubbished speculation that he himself was considering buying Cardiff over from Bluebirds were relegated from the Championship last season and begin their League One campaign at home to Peterborough United on Saturday."This has been fascinating work of fiction. Let me be very clear on the record, nobody from a South African consortium came to see me," said Dalman."We have not entertained anybody coming around to look at this club. We have never spoken to the regulators or EFL [English Football League] or anybody."I have never tried to put a consortium together to take over this. I have never showed any interest in taking over this club. I came with Vincent, I will probably go with Vincent."There is an attempt by a number of groups to try to buy this club on the cheap so they're pulling these stories out. We just need to kill them [the stories]. Our focus is to get promoted."I take one seriously. Are we pursuing it? No." This is the first time anyone on Cardiff's board has addressed the takeover talk, which escalated when Bale revealed in June that his consortium had approached the Bluebirds about purchasing his home legendary former Wales captain then said in July the group had made a second offer, while South African businessman Gary Otto was rumoured to be leading a rival acknowledged their interest but questioned how serious that was."I guarantee you that every team that gets relegated gets approaches because there are people that they are looking for value purchases," he said."We always have approaches. Most of them are pathetic. Some of them have substance."Of course, we had approaches, but that's not a bid. You would be shocked how low some of the numbers have been when people have rung up."For me to me to take anybody seriously, I need to know who they are in their entirety. I need to know proof of funds, preferably by a financial institution of some credibility. I need to know who their lawyers are, and I need to know who their accountants are. Until they give me those four things, I don't have an offer."Dalman has previously said that Tan would be open to selling at the right value will have dropped as a result of their relegation last season, and the owner would prefer to sell in the Championship or, ideally, back in the Premier League, where they have spent two seasons during his 15 years in said there was a "cast-iron" offer on the table two seasons ago when Cardiff in the Championship but, even then, Tan was reluctant to sell."I would not want to sell at this level," said Dalman. "I would want to see us in the Championship, which is really where this team should be."We got really close two seasons ago when we were in the Championship and we had a cast-iron offer. And that was the closest we were to selling."The last valuation we did was about £40m. The reason why I think you can ask for a premium is this is a Premier League-quality stadium and a Premier League catchment area."It's maybe £50m if you stretch it. Let's assume a Championship [club] is £100m, do you want to sell it now? In the Premier League it could be £400m."So it's different dynamics, but I think you do not want to sell an asset when it's rock bottom."
