Delays have already reached up to an hour, with disruption expected to impact rush-hour traffic.
A horrific fire involving a lorry has caused major disruption on the M25 on Wednesday afternoon.

The 'serious' blaze started at around 12.25pm on August 13, with multiple fire crews on scene tackling the flames.

The motorway is currently closed in both directions between junctions 30 and 29 near Thurrock, Essex.

Although the fire broke out on the anti-clockwise carriageway, the road going clockwise has also been closed due to the smoke, the Mirror reports.
Pictures from the scene show a cloud of thick dark smoke billowing from the stricken lorry, as fire engines and emergency responders can be seen surrounding the area. It is said the lorry was carrying tyres, which has caused a significant amount of smoke.
Long queues of traffic, including other lorries, can be seen building up in the lanes behind the scene of the incident.
Another taken from the opposite side of the motorway shows the lorry engulfed in flames reaching tens of feet into the sky.
The fire is visible from a distance, with people in vehicles further back in the queues sharing their images of the plume of smoke above the motorway.

Traffic is already queued as far as the Dartford Tunnels, according to Essex County Council, with disruption expected for some time. National Highways has warned motorists of long delays of up to 60 minutes as fire crews continue to battle the blaze.
It is also expected that the disruption will have a knock-on effect on this evening's rush hour.
The Essex County Fire and Rescue Service has since confirmed they are continuing to deal with the incident. They have also stated the lorry involved was carrying tyres, which has caused a significant amount of smoke.
