Kangana Ranaut says live-in relationships are not ‘women-friendly', has a message for Khushboo Patani
What Kangana said
During the interaction, Kangana said, 'Marriages are very important in our society, and it is the promise that the man makes to stay loyal to his wife. Jis tarah se aaj kal baatein chal rahi hain regarding log live-in relationships (Nowadays there is a lot of talk on live-in relationships)… From what I have seen, these are not women-friendly things. Kal ko aap pregnant hote hain in a live-in… aap ka abortion kaun karayega? Aap sant, maharajaon ko gaaliyaan de rahe hain, unko cancel kar diya hai (When you are pregnant tomorrow, who will take you for an abortion? One is abusing the spiritual leaders and cancelling them). But as a big sister, I am telling you that it is not a woman-friendly thing.'
When the host added that the court allows live-in relationships, Kangana said, 'Most laws are here to protect women… People say men are from Mars, Women are from Venus, and we can be modern. But take a look at the surveys and it is proven scientifically, where both men and women were asked to list the qualities they would like about their boyfriend/girlfriend and their husband/wife. The men had a different list, but the women had the same list for both. Men can compartmentalise, and women cannot. It is unlikely that a man will change after they go in a live-in with a woman.'
The controversy on live-in relationships
For the unversed, last month Disha Patani's sister, Khusboo Patani, had called out spiritual leader Aniruddhacharya's comments on women and live-in relationships. Khushboo said, 'He says girls who are above the age of 25 and stay in live-in relationships, woh 4 jagah mooh maar ke aati hai (they go from one person to another). If only he were around me, I would have made him understand the meaning of the words he has used against women."
After Aniruddhacharya received backlash for his comments, he apologised but stated that he was referring to 'some women, not all.'

CM Yogi leads Janmashtami rituals at Gorakhnath
Gorakhpur : The sacred festival of Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated with traditional fervour and devotion at the Gorakhnath Temple in the presence of Chief Minister and Gorakshapeethadhishwar Yogi Adityanath . Arriving from Lucknow late on Saturday night, the CM led the midnight rituals marking the divine appearance of Lord Krishna. At the temple, the CM first paid homage at Guru Gorakhnath's shrine and bowed before the samadhi of his spiritual guru, Mahant Avaidyanath. The festivities began with soulful bhajans at the Mahant Digvijayanath Smriti auditorium, where children dressed as Radha and Krishna added a colourful and festive charm to the atmosphere. The CM interacted warmly with them, showering affection, sharing light-hearted moments, and presenting toys and chocolates. As the clock struck midnight, the temple premises echoed with the sounds of conch shells, bells, and devotional chants. CM Yogi carried the idol of infant Krishna from the sanctum sanctorum and placed him in a floral cradle. He then performed the ceremonial jhulan (swing ritual), followed by the traditional aarti and the joyous singing of 'Nand Ghar Anand Bhayo' and other hymns. The event witnessed the participation of prominent personalities, including Gorakhpur MP Ravi Kishan, MP Vijay Dubey, BJP MLC Dharmendra Singh, and saints from Ayodhya and Varanasi. Thousands of devotees thronged the temple, offering prayers and witnessing the rituals. Competitions in Krishna–Radha attire drew enthusiastic participation, with prizes awarded to children across different categories. A devotional evening of bhajans, led by noted folk singer Rakesh Srivastava and his troupe, captivated the gathering with traditional renditions of sohar and other folk hymns, adding to the spiritual fervour of the occasion. During the celebration at the temple, MP Ravi Kishan sang bhajans and broke into an impromptu dance during the evening programme. India's biggest flop film, made for Rs 70 crore but failed to earn even Rs 7 crore, movie name is..., lead actor was...
Released in 2023, Tejas was pitched as a patriotic drama, directed by Sarvesh Mewara and headlined by Kangana Ranaut. Expectations were sky-high. Made on a massive budget of Rs 70 crore, the film was promoted aggressively, with Kangana herself putting her full weight behind it. Yet, when it hit theatres, the reality was starkly different. The audience stayed away. On its opening day, Tejas struggled badly — so much so that the film has now entered the list of Kangana's lowest-grossing ventures. Despite releasing on more than 2,000 screens, the movie could not pull in crowds. How much did Tejas earn? The numbers paint a grim picture. Domestically, Tejas crawled to a mere Rs 4.25 crore, while overseas markets added only Rs 70 lakh. Even after selling OTT, music, and satellite rights, the makers managed to recover just about Rs 17 crore. Put together, the earnings fell drastically short of expectations, barely covering half the cost of production. By the end, the producers were staring at a loss of nearly Rs 50 crore — making Tejas one of the most disappointing big-ticket films in recent years. Did theatres stay empty? Yes. Theatrical occupancy was shockingly low. On Friday morning shows, reports revealed that 94 out of every 100 seats were vacant. Evening and night shows offered some relief, with occupancy touching 10%, but that was nowhere near enough. At best, the film crawled past the Rs 1 crore mark on its first day, but the damage had already been done. Why did Tejas fail despite a patriotic theme? Industry watchers suggest that while the film banked on nationalistic emotions, it failed to connect with the audience on an emotional or cinematic level. Viewers felt the story lacked freshness, and even Kangana's performance could not lift it. The hype created before release simply did not match the content offered on screen. For Kangana Ranaut and the makers, Tejas turned out to be more of a nightmare than a dream project. Despite the patriotic theme, wide release, and aggressive promotion, the film's failure proves once again that star power alone cannot guarantee success at the box office.
