Whether it's a parent, coach, spiritual teacher, or a director who helped uncover a deeper truth, the stories shared serve as beautiful reminders of the profound impact a true Guru can have. For Ayushi Khurana, who essays the role of Reet in Jaane Anjaane Hum Mile, that guiding force has always been her mother — a source of unwavering wisdom, strength, and inspiration.
Ayushi Khurana, who essays the role of Reet in Jaane Anjaane Hum Mile said, 'For me, Guru Purnima has always been about one person — my mother.
She has been my first teacher, my fiercest cheerleader, and the person who laid the foundation for every value I hold dear. As a child, I vividly remember her saying, 'No matter how big your dreams are, your feet should always stay grounded.' That single line has been my compass through every high and low.
She taught me that kindness is strength, that hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard, and that staying true to yourself is the greatest lesson of all."
She added, "Even now, before any big audition or shoot, I pause and think, 'What would Mom say?' That voice of hers — wise, encouraging, and unwavering — lives in me. Every Guru Purnima, I make it a point to spend the day with her. We usually visit a nearby temple together and then I take her out for lunch — it's my little ritual to say thank you to the woman who gave me not just life, but also the tools to live it meaningfully. She is and always will be my guiding light.
