After losing her parents, the guiding lights of her life, she had to endure scrutiny from relatives over the kind of roles she chose.
'During the lockdown, I reflected on my career—I had done such big films, but when I came home from shoots, no one appreciated my work. Instead, I was told, 'What have you done? Tumne toh kapde utaare iss film mein… Tum toh aise ho, tumhare bacche tumko respect nahi karenge.' I felt ashamed,' she added.

The actress also shared the heartbreaking detail that her daughter once broke CDs of Koyla. 'It affected me psychologically. I felt like a failure—as an actor, in my marriage, everywhere. I was broken inside. I eventually learned that there's no market for your sorrow, so I never carried that baggage to work. Acting became my escape. It helped me heal,' Deepshikha admitted.
She shared that her conservative upbringing and societal scrutiny deeply affected her self-image. Raised under strict rules, she described herself as a 'typical good girl' who had no boyfriends. However, public perception often left her feeling anxious and judged.

Priyanka Chopra's mom Madhu Chopra opens up about her daughter's marriage to Nick Jonas and life as Malti Marie's grandmother: ‘I'm just very glad they let me in'

Priyanka Chopra 's mother, Dr. Madhu Chopra , recently shared heartwarming insights into her daughter's marriage with Nick Jonas and her own cherished role as grandmother to Malti Marie. In a recent chat with actress Debina Bonnerjee, the proud nani spoke about family dynamics, respecting parenting boundaries, and the special bond she shares with her granddaughter. 'Priyanka is an adult, her decisions are always well thought-out' Talking about Priyanka's decision to marry American singer and actor Nick Jonas, Madhu Chopra said the family always had faith in her daughter's judgment. 'Priyanka is now an adult. Nobody can touch her. In the family too, we think her decisions are right. We have supported her since she was a child. She takes every decision with a clear mind,' Madhu shared. She added, 'We never had a doubt that Priyanka is making a mistake. She is not impulsive. She knows that the consequences are hers. It's a good thing that she got married to Nick. I am very happy about that.' 'Becoming a nani is the best promotion in life' When asked how she feels about being a grandmother, Madhu lit up with joy: 'The best promotion in life is that — to become a nani. I love it.' She expressed her gratitude for being involved in Malti Marie's upbringing, saying, 'I thank God every day that the children are keeping me involved in their lives. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Dermatologist: Throw This Bedroom Item Away (Here's Why) Blissy Learn More Undo Many nuclear families don't want grandparents around, thinking they'll interfere. But my children include me with a lot of love.' 'Grandparents are the rule-breakers, and that's needed' Madhu reflected on the unique role grandparents play in a child's life. 'Children need a little time to cheat — they need rule breakers. That's what grandparents are for,' she said with a smile. She admitted that while parents set the rules, grandparents are often the ones who bend them — lovingly, of course. 'We maintain our boundaries. It's the parents' right to raise their child their way. I had my time to raise my children. Now, I'm just here to offer support, warmth and security.' Priyanka's Heartfelt Birthday Post For Her Mother Madhu Chopra 'Children raised by grandparents are more secure' Discussing the bridge between traditional upbringing and modern parenting, Madhu said, 'It happens with the heart and the mind. The heart makes mistakes, the mind corrects them.' She stressed the value of having elders in the home: 'Children raised by grandparents are more secure and grounded. Parents today are career-driven — they give quality time, but someone needs to be around for the child's comfort.' She added, 'It's the cycle of life. If we do good, we get to be part of our grandchildren's lives. I'm just very glad they let me in.'

Aalim Hakim recalls backlash over Saif Ali Khan's Raavan look in Adipurush: 'They said don't leave your house, public padi hai tereko maarne ke liye'

Celebrity hairstylist Aalim Hakim, who has worked on countless Bollywood blockbusters, recently addressed the backlash surrounding Adipurush and the memes targeting Saif Ali Khan 's look as Raavan. He opened up about his role in the controversial design choices and clarified the process behind the scenes. 'I'm just a technician. The director has the vision' Responding to criticism aimed at Saif's look and character design, Aalim distanced himself from the creative direction, saying, 'As I always say, I'm just a technician. The director has the vision, and I work hard to bring that to life.' He added, 'Om Raut sir is a visionary. He had a different interpretation of Raavan, not the traditional one people have seen in Ramanand Sagar 's serial. He had a take inspired by a Viking-like aesthetic. But when you're dealing with religious themes, even creative risks can backfire.' 'I got so many calls... people said don't leave your house' Recounting the intense backlash, Aalim revealed that people from within the industry and his own friends joked and even warned him: 'I got so many phone calls from the industry... people were pulling my leg, saying, 'Beta, ghar se bahar nikalna nahi, public padi hai tereko maarne ke liye (Don't come out of your house, people will beat the hell out of you!)'' He continued, 'Everyone knew I did it, even though I never gave an interview or posted about it. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch vàng CFDs với mức chênh lệch giá thấp nhất IC Markets Đăng ký Undo I never claimed that the look was mine publicly. But that doesn't mean your talent disappears. It's the same in our field.' Calling it a 'part and parcel' of the creative industry, he said, 'You try your best.
