Auburn football not only possesses the talent to produce a winning season, but it also has players who share a desire to win.
Auburn running back Durell Robinson is in his first season with the program after transferring from UConn during the offseason, and has quickly established himself as one of the more driven players on the roster. Following Thursday's practice at the Woltosz Football Performance Center, Robinson spent time with the media discussing his expectations for the upcoming season.
Being a transfer, Robinson is relatively unknown to the Auburn fan base, but he may have become a fan favorite with an amazing quote in response to a question by WSFA's Rosie Langello.
Langello asked Robinson what he would like the Auburn fan base to know about him, and he responded by sharing his passion for football and his desire to help his team win.
"I would really die on that field if it came to that," Robinson said Thursday. "If I have to die on that field to get us a win, I would do that.'
In his lone season at UConn, Robinson rushed for 731 yards and eight scores while being a part of a three-running back system with Camryn Edwards and Jayden Brown. He reached the 100-yard mark twice last season, with his best game coming against Florida Atlantic on Sept. 21, when he rushed for 156 yards and two touchdowns. According to Pro Football Focus data, 22 of Robinson's runs resulted in gains of 10 or more yards, and 39 of his carries resulted in first downs.
Robinson is among four backs that will make up the Tigers' running back room this season. He, along with veterans Damari Alston, Jeremiah Cobb, and freshman Alvin Henderson, will aim to replicate the success left behind by outgoing premier back Jarquez Hunter, who rushed for 3,371 yards and 25 touchdowns from 2021-24.

Auburn looking to flip 2026 five-star EDGE Tank Jones from Oregon

The rivalry between the Auburn Tigers and the Alabama Crimson Tide does not end with the annual Iron Bowl each November. The fans keep the fire of the rivalry going, but the two compete elsewhere as well. The two programs are constantly battling for recruits to enhance their rosters. According to Rivals on Friday, both Auburn and Alabama are attempting to flip 2026 EDGE rusher Tank Jones. Jones is ranked by Rivals as a five-star, and a high four-star by 247Sports. He attends St. Paul's in Mobile, Alabama where he is looking to have a big senior season for the Saints. They went 9-3 last season with their season ending with a 44-6 loss to Pike Road in the AHSAA 6A State Playoffs. Jones led a defense that only allowed 12 points per game and had three shutouts. For Jones, he had 84 tackles with 18 tackles for loss and 16 sacks. He is a multi-sport athlete playing basketball and running track. Jones committed to Oregon on July 31, but in the world of recruiting nothing is final until the letter of intent is signed. Teams will attempt to make a big push for Jones in an attempt to flip the pass rusher. It would appear that Alabama may have an edge over Auburn for Jones. Before he made his commitment to the Ducks, Jones had announced his top three that included Alabama and Texas A&M. That is not to say Auburn cannot win over Jones though. Hugh Freeze and staff have shown they can beat Alabama in recruiting during their short time at Auburn. Nick Wright suggests Bo Nix is the next Mac Jones

Nick Wright wants to be starting something. Speaking on his "What's Wright?" show, Nick Wright and Cowherd spent time talking about the latest happenings in the NFL. Wright spoke on his expectations for Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix, and he made a, say, rather interesting comparison. Wright believes that former quarterback Mac Jones, who suffered a sharp decline after a solid rookie season, is a great comparison for Nix. A stretch? Maybe. But check the clip below to see what Wright said. Wright compared Nix's Pro Bowl alternate nod, Denver's 10 wins and the Broncos getting knocked out of the playoffs by the Buffalo Bills to Jones' rookie season, suggesting that Nix will now have a similar career outcome. I'd say Wright is off the mark for two reasons: 1) Nix has Sean Payton and 2) Mac Jones never had Sean Payton. With Payton ready to take the Broncos to the next level in year three, it appears he has big plans to make Nix a superstar quarterback. Social: Follow Broncos Wire on Facebook and Twitter/X! Darius Slay tells Steelers to 'stop playing' and pay Cam Heyward

One of the most polarizing topics currently dominating Steel City headlines is undoubtedly Cam Heyward's contract dilemma — and one veteran defender has his back. On Friday's episode of the Not Just Football with Cam Heyward podcast, special guests Jalen Ramsey and Darius Slay wasted little time addressing the elephant in the room — comparing the contract situation to that of Watt. The conversation quickly got away from the group, spiraling into Slay warning the Steelers to get a deal done quickly. "We need you to get it done, you took a big tole in me coming here," Slay told Heyward on the podcast. "So, we need you out there now. Tell them to stop playing, right now." Why Heyward's negotiation is so hotly debated is because he's only one year into his two-year extension signed last September — but the Steelers veteran also argued the plan all along was to ask for more money after an All-Pro caliber year. Another Steelers veteran in a similar situation as Heyward is All-Pro K Chris Boswell — but if Pittsburgh could only pay one, let us know which contract is more important here.
