Report: Denzel Ward's shoulder injury not believed to be serious
Jordan Schultz reports that the injury is not believed to be serious, though Ward will undergo further testing to confirm.
Ward left practice early after a one-on-one with receiver Jerry Jeudy, raising concern as he appeared in pain as he walked inside to be evaluated.
Ward, 28, is heading into this eighth season. He has made the Pro Bowl each of the past two seasons and four times total.
In 2024, Ward totaled 49 tackles, two interceptions, a league-best19 passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

Steelers countdown to kickoff — No. 18: a history of the number and who wore it best
The Steelers countdown to kickoff is here — and we're at 18 days until Pittsburgh faces off against the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium. In the spirit of the countdown, we're taking a look at the history of No. 18 and the players who wore it best. Current Steelers No. 18 wearer: QB Will Howard Selected with the 185th pick in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, fan-favorite rookie QB Will Howard is the current No. 18 on the Steelers roster. After finishing his Ohio State career as a National Champion, Howard carries the hopes of Steelers fans wishing he can become the next great franchise quarterback — and he has the perfect mentor in Aaron Rodgers to potentially turn this dream into reality. Last five Steelers to wear No. 18: Best No. 18 in Steelers history: WR Diontae Johnson Arguably the best Steeler to ever wear No. 18 is Diontae Johnson. Selected with the 66th overall pick in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft, Johnson wasted little time making an impact on the Steel City brand of football — earning a Second-Team All-Pro selection as a punt returner during his rookie season. He was also named to the 2021 Pro Bowl. During his five seasons in Pittsburgh, Johnson caught 391 passes for 4,363 yards — the ninth-most by a Steeler all-time — and 25 touchdowns. Despite leaving the Steel City on bad terms and struggling to make an impact outside of Pittsburgh, his performance as a Steeler leaves him deserving of being named the greatest to wear No. 18. Joe Flacco named QB1, but Browns still have questions to answer
The biggest question of the Browns' offseason was answered this week with 40-year-old Joe Flacco named the starting quarterback. Why it matters: Cleveland has the second-oldest starting quarterback in the NFL. Now the question is how things will play out at the position over the entire season. Driving the news: Flacco will start the Browns' final preseason game Saturday against the Los Angeles Rams at Huntington Bank Field. Catch up quick: Cleveland entered training camp with a quarterback battle between Flacco, newly acquired Kenny Pickett and rookies Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders. Deshaun Watson, whom Cleveland traded the farm for and signed to a record-breaking contract, could miss the entire season as he recovers from a torn Achilles tendon. State of play: Sanders played well in the Browns' preseason opener with 138 yards and two touchdowns, while Pickett and Gabriel were sidelined with injuries. Sanders sat out the second preseason game with an oblique strain. Gabriel started and threw for 143 yards and an interception. Flacco, a former Super Bowl champion with the Baltimore Ravens who led the Browns to the playoffs two seasons ago, has gotten most of the first-team reps in practice. What they're saying: Flacco was always the presumed starter, but fans are already wondering about the future on the team's Facebook page. One of the rookies is going to take over by Week 5, Randy Walker commented. "I'm calling it now. Their record will be 1-3 and they will take a shot on a rookie!" Jesse Paulton Jr. predicts, "[Flacco will] be the starter until the bye week when one of the rookies separates themselves from the other."

Three Arizona Cardinals players made the list, with linebacker Josh Sweat at No. 95, tight end Trey McBride at No. 65 and safety Budda Baker at No. 34, making the list for the sixth straight year. Several players the Cardinals will face in 2025 continue to be revealed. Last week, in revealing players Nos. 31-40, No. 33 is someone the Cardinals will face in 2025. Houston Texans linebacker E.J. Speed said, "Josh Jacobs is the most difficult running back to play." After five seasons with the Raiders, he rushed for 1,329 yards and 15 touchdowns in 2024 in his first season with Green Bay. He made the Pro Bowl for the third time in his career. Last season, against the Cardinals, Jacobs had 62 rushing yards on 18 carries and three receptions for 28 yards in a 34-13 Green Bay win. In two career games against the Cardinals, he has not scored a touchdown and has 131 yards on 3.5 yards per carry. The Cardinals will face him and the Packers in Week 7 at State Farm Stadium.
