Dubai Bling star Farhana Bodi on her fashion journey, beauty secrets and Cannes 2025 look: ‘My style is glam with soul'
It's been quite a ride! I was born in South Africa, but I always felt like my dreams were bigger than any one place. I moved to Dubai over a decade ago with the hope of building something of my own. At first, it was just me, my vision, and a lot of hustle. I didn't have a clear roadmap but I had a strong sense of purpose. Over time, through fashion, content, and connecting with women globally, I found my space. Dubai gave me the platform to turn that vision into reality.

Fashion has always been my language, it's how I express emotion, identity, and strength. Social media just became the natural extension of that expression. I saw a space where I could not only showcase style but also share stories, inspire, and connect. It was never just about aesthetics, it was about empowerment and visibility, especially for women who look like me.
Dubai Bling opened up my world in so many ways. It introduced me to a global audience and allowed people to see beyond the curated photos to see the woman, the mother and the entrepreneur. It also brought its share of scrutiny, which taught me how to stand even stronger in my truth. Professionally, it's been a launchpad for exciting opportunities, but personally, it's been a journey of growth and learning.

To an extent, yes and no. Reality TV is still edited for entertainment, so of course not every layer of who I am can fit into a season. I'm a very spiritual, grounded person, but I also love fashion, travel, and luxury. The show shows one side of that, but the depth, especially as a mother and entrepreneur, is something you really only understand if you know me personally.
Thank you! My style is glam with soul. I love statement pieces, but I always dress for how I feel. One day it's power suits, the next it's flowy silks. I mix elegance with edge, and I always aim for confidence over trends.

I've always admired women who blend strength with style, like Rihanna, Zendaya, and old-school icons like Sophia Loren. But honestly, I also draw inspiration from everyday women around me. There's nothing more inspiring than someone who owns her look unapologetically.
Hydration, sleep (whenever I can get it!), and skincare are key. I'm big on facial massages, clean products, and inner wellness. And I never underestimate the power of a good lipstick and a quiet moment to breathe.
Cannes is such a dream, and I've been working closely with a designer who truly understands my vibe. Expect something timeless but bold—elegance with a bit of drama. I want to celebrate my roots while standing tall in global glam. Let's just say… it's going to be a moment.

Here's when and where you can watch Fahadh Faasil, Vadivelu's comedy drama Maareesan on OTT
A mysterious journey unfolds when two unlikely companions set off across Tamil Nadu. One is a cunning thief with ulterior motives; the other, an elderly man battling memory loss. What begins as a simple plan for deception soon transforms into an emotional odyssey neither expected. When and where to watch Maareesan? Maareesan, the latest Tamil film starring Fahadh Faasil and Vadivelu, is set to premiere on Netflix on August 22, 2025. Directed by Sudheesh Sankar, this road-trip thriller delves into themes of trust, redemption, and the complexities of human relationships. What is the storyline? The storyline of Maareesan follows Dhaya, a small-time thief (played by Fahadh Faasil), who targets Velayudham, an elderly man with Alzheimer's (played by Vadivelu), as part of a con. Dhaya pretends to help Velayudham in his supposed quest to find his long-lost daughter, seeing it as an easy opportunity to gain something in return. As they journey together across Tamil Nadu, what begins as manipulation slowly evolves into a genuine emotional bond. Dhaya starts to empathize with Velayudham's vulnerability and sincerity. The road trip reveals hidden truths, personal regrets, and forces both characters to confront their pasts. How were the performances? The performances were widely appreciated, with Vadivelu earning particular praise for his role as Velayudham. Known primarily for his comedic work, Vadivelu showcased his range with a restrained and emotional performance that became one of the film's strongest elements. Fahadh Faasil, as the morally grey thief Dhaya, delivered a layered portrayal, effectively capturing the character's transformation from selfish motives to empathy and redemption. How was the box office response? Despite the critical praise, the film, which was released on July 25, struggled at the box office. Maareesan opened to a modest Rs 75 lakh on its first day and eventually collected around Rs 6.55 crore domestically. With an estimated production budget of Rs 15 crore, the film failed to recover its costs theatrically. Audiences responded well to the film post-theatrical release, and it currently holds an impressive IMDb rating of 8.2. While Maareesan may not have achieved commercial success, it resonated deeply with viewers for its sincere performances and heartfelt narrative. Story Highlights Maareesan follows conman (Fahadh Faasil) who tries to exploit elderly man with Alzheimer's (Vadivelu) on road trip. The Film is all set to stream on Netflix from August 22, 2025. Jake Paul vs Gervonta Davis rules were revealed weeks ago: ‘10 min rounds, no restrictions'
Jake Paul will take on Gervonta 'Tank' Davis in November this year. This comes after the YouTuber-turned-boxer's bout with Anthony Joshua was canceled, The Ring reported on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Netflix appeared to accidentally post about the Paul vs Davis bout. The post has been deleted. It is being reported that the blockbuster fight will take place at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. Kake Paul attends Ukraine's Oleksandr Usyk and Britain's Daniel Dubois's undisputed world heavyweight boxing title bout(AFP) Have the rules of the Jake Paul vs Gervonta Davis bout been set? Technically, no. But Paul's previous statements have given fans a hint at how the fight will look. The 28-year-old, earlier this year, claimed that a fight between him and Davis was close to being made official. "That was on the one yard as well, but he has to rematch Lamont Roach. 'He wants to get that back. Then we will be back in discussions with Mr. Gervonta. But this is the nature of boxing, you have massive fights on the one-yard line and then they fall through,' he said on the Ariel Helwani Show. He added that the fight would be sanctioned as an exhibition event. Speaking about the rules, Paul revealed: 'It would be an exhibition, 10 three-minute rounds. No restrictions, just the fact we couldn't actually get it professionally sanctioned.' When asked what weight the clash would be contested at, the 'Problem Child' replied: "195." Reporter Mike Coppinger said that the November fight could look like the Logan Paul (Jake's older brother) vs Floyd Mayweather match in 2021. 'When Floyd Mayweather faced Jake's brother Logan in an exhibition, Mayweather couldn't weigh more than 160 while Logan was capped at 190. Would expect some similar exhibition rules for weigh in here,' the reporter wrote on X, platform formerly known as Twitter. "Gervonta Davis was slated for a title fight rematch with Lamont Roach in August while Jake Paul was in talks for a major step-up against Anthony Joshua, the former heavyweight champion. Instead, they will meet each other in what amounts to a show that will no doubt do big business, but is less fighting than it is entertainment given the weight disparity and exhibition rules."
