The love story continues. On Thursday, Netflix released the first images and new plot details for the second season of its breakout hit Nobody Wants This. The Emmy-nominated comedy which earned nods for Outstanding Comedy Series, Lead Comedy Actress (Kristen Bell) and Lead Comedy Actor (Adam Brody) returns on Oct. 23 with 10 episodes. Here's everything we know about the new season. More from Gold Derby Everything to know about 'Wednesday' Season 2 as [spoiler] is confirmed to return 'I felt my organs shut down': Stars of 'KPop Demon Hunters' on getting love from BTS, contending for Oscars, and becoming a cultural sensation The Plot Season 2 picks up where the show left off, diving deeper into the relationship between agnostic podcast host Joanne (Bell) and hot rabbi Noah (Brody), whose unlikely romance surprised even them. Now that love has bloomed, they need to see if they can make it last. The official Season 2 synopsis reads: 'First comes love, then comes life. The last time we saw agnostic podcast host Joanne (Bell) and unconventional (hot) rabbi Noah (Brody), their unmatched chemistry surprised everyone in their lives, including her sister Morgan (Justine Lupe), his brother Sasha (Timothy Simons) and sister-in-law Esther (Jackie Tohn), and even themselves. Their spark proved stronger than all of the obstacles trying to keep them apart. Now, they're back and fully committed to merging their lives — and loved ones — together. But their differences still exist and can't be ignored. The challenge now is not just falling in love against all odds, but staying together in spite of them.' New Guest Stars Leighton Meester, the Gossip Girl alum and Brody's real-life spouse, joins the cast as Abby, Joanne's former middle school nemesis who is now an Instagram mommy influencer. Show creator Erin Foster spoke to Gold Derby about landing Meester for the show. 'She is so funny. I know that I didn't discover her. She's already a big star, but she's so funny,' says Foster. 'I definitely wrote in some little Easter eggs for people with the interactions for Adam and Leighton.' Other guest stars this season include Miles Fowler, Alex Karpovsky, and Arian Moayed. Setting and Locations Just like Season 1, the new season continues to be a love letter to Los Angeles but this time, with a more intentional focus on the city's small businesses. 'Last year we did it sort of just organically wherever we were, but this year it was much more intentional that we found local businesses and really went out of our way to highlight them," says Foster. "I think that it'll be an extension of last year, but hopefully even more." ‘Wednesday' Season 2 Trailer Teases Familiar Faces & a Hint at Lady Gaga's Character
Part one of Wednesday season two left the show's morose heroine on a massive cliffhanger — and the new trailer for the season's second part offers only more questions about what is to come for the Addams daughter. In a trailer that dropped on Thursday (Aug. 14) for the forthcoming second half of the season, Jenna Ortega's Wednesday Addams wakes up in a hospital after being attacked by former classmate Tyler Galpin (Hunter Doohan), only to see her former, now-deceased principal Larissa Weems (played by Gwendoline Christie) appearing as her new 'spirit guide.' More from Billboard Lady Gaga's 'Wednesday' Role Will Also Include a Spooky New Song for Season 2 Lady Gaga's 'Wednesday' Character Confirmed, First Six Minutes of Season Two Released Bob the Drag Queen Counts How Many Times Lady Gaga Asks Fans at Mayhem Ball to Put Their Paws Up The remainder of the trailer shows Wednesday moving through Nevermore Academy and the local town of Jericho, hunting down Tyler and attempting to save both her family and friends from impending doom. As the plot thickens and the teenager encounters more and more of her family's 'dark chapter,' she is offered an eerily warning by a familiar-sounding voice: 'Beware — there will be a price to pay.' Fans immediately clocked the eerie voice as none other than Lady Gaga, who was announced as a cast member on season two back in November. Mother Monster memorably announced her arrival into the Wednesday universe at Netflix's Tudum event in May, where she performed a rousing medley of her tracks 'Zombieboy,' 'Bloody Mary' and 'Abracadabra,' where she was joined onstage by Ortega. This won't be the first time Gaga's name is associated with the hit show. After the runaway success of season one, fans began making social media edits of Ortega's titular character dancing to a sped-up version of Gaga's Born This Way B-side 'Bloody Mary.' The viral trend gave the song its debut on the Billboard Hot 100, where it spent 18 weeks, peaking at No. 41 in April 2023. While the show didn't offer further details regarding Gaga's enigmatic character on the hit series, Billboard previously learned that the second part of season two will also coincide with a new song coming from Mother Monster. Entitled 'Dead Dance,' the track is expected to drop in September alongside the final four episodes of the season. Wednesday season two part two will arrive Sept. 3 on Netflix. Pete Davidson says his ‘BDE' reputation, sexualization in media took an emotional toll
It turns out the amount of objectifying Pete Davidson received from the tabloids took a toll on his 'BDE.' The 'Saturday Night Live' alumnus told 'The Breakfast Club' on Wednesday that he was 'embarrassed' by the way his personal life crowded out his work. 'I brought a lot of pop culture into [SNL], like, I made it sort of like tabloid-y, like trendy thing unintentionally. … No one talked about any work I was doing,' the 31-year-old father-to-be said. 'They were just like, 'Oh, that's the f— stick.' The 'Bupkis' star began his 'SNL' career in 2014, when he was only 20, then spent eight seasons on the late-night sketch comedy show. After leaving in 2022, he came back a year later to host the show. His dating life dominated the headlines during his time on 'SNL.' Davidson dated singer Ariana Grande, actor Kate Beckinsale, model Kaia Gerber, actor Madelyn Cline and reality TV star Kim Kardashian. The Grande and Kardashian periods attracted the most attention of course, with the singer hinting at Davidson's alleged 'BDE' and the reality mogul saying later that she was up for some of that amid her divorce from Ye — then known as Kanye West. The rapper, by the way, was not pleased with his ex's rebound entanglement. (BDE is short for 'big d— energy.') 'I don't want to victimize myself in any way because I'm cool, but the sexualization of me, if that was a girl, you know, [there would] be a march for it,' Davidson said. He said the attention his track record brought affected his dating life and made him 'sad.' In July, the 'King of Staten Island' star revealed that his current girlfriend, British model and actor Elsie Hewitt, is expecting their first child. She posted a series of pictures of the two of them on social media, including a shot of an ultrasound and video of her getting the scan done. Her caption: 'welp now everyone knows we had sex.'
