Sam Mendes' Beatles biopic reveals cast, sets April 2028 release
Sam Mendes' ambitious four-part Beatles biopic has officially announced its cast. At CinemaCon 2025 in Las Vegas, Mendes unveiled the actors playing the Fab Four in his groundbreaking project, which will be released in April 2028.
The Beatles movie cast features Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr, and Joseph Quinn as George Harrison. Each film in the series will focus on a different band member, making this a unique approach to storytelling in music biopics.
'We're not just making one film about The Beatles — we're making four,' Mendes told the CinemaCon audience. He described the project as 'the first binge-able theatrical experience,' aiming to give fans a deeper understanding of the legendary band's journey.
This marks the first time The Beatles and Apple Corps have officially supported a scripted film about their lives. Mendes, known for 1917 and Skyfall, will direct all four films, ensuring a cohesive cinematic vision.
Sony Pictures chairman Tom Rothman emphasized that this epic undertaking is designed to reignite excitement for theatrical experiences.
With its star-studded cast and unprecedented storytelling format, the Beatles biopic is set to be one of the most anticipated film events of 2028.

Glen Powell lands lead in Running Man reboot with Arnold's blessing
Hollywood's favorite heartthrob Glen Powell is officially stepping into dystopian territory with The Running Man reboot — and he has Arnold Schwarzenegger's blessing to do it. The 1987 sci-fi classic, originally led by Schwarzenegger, is being reimagined by director Edgar Wright, with Powell in the lead role of Ben Richards. Powell got the green light directly from the original star, thanks to a little help from The White Lotus Season 3 actor Patrick Schwarzenegger. As Powell revealed in a recent interview with People, Patrick — Arnold's son and Powell's close friend — connected them for a FaceTime chat. 'Arnold gave us his blessing,' said Powell, noting the special moment during his conversation with Wright and the legendary action star. The reboot aims to stick more closely to Stephen King's original novel (written under the Richard Bachman pseudonym), promising a grittier tone than the original film's over-the-top 80s action. With a cast that includes Josh Brolin and Colman Domingo, the movie is already generating buzz following its CinemaCon preview. Powell is also planning to send Arnold a special gift from the film, highlighting the camaraderie behind the scenes. With Patrick acting as the bridge between Hollywood generations, The Running Man reboot doesn't just carry nostalgia — it's charged with real-life connections and legacy. The film is set to hit theaters on November 7, 2025, bringing a fresh take on a cult classic to a new generation.

Mark Ruffalo missing from Now You See Me 3 trailer despite confirmed return
The first trailer for Now You See Me: Now You Don't — the third entry in the hit magician-heist series — has stirred curiosity among fans due to the absence of Mark Ruffalo. Despite being a key figure in the franchise as FBI agent-turned-magician Dylan Rhodes, Ruffalo is nowhere to be seen in the newly released footage. Directed by Ruben Fleischer, the upcoming film reunites audiences with the Four Horsemen — Jesse Eisenberg (Danny Atlas), Dave Franco (Jack Wilder), Isla Fisher (Henley Reeves), and Woody Harrelson (Merritt McKinney) — as they prepare for their most daring heist yet. The trailer also introduces new cast members, but noticeably omits Ruffalo's character, prompting speculation about his role. While Ruffalo does not appear in the trailer, his return has already been confirmed according to Variety. At the end of Now You See Me 2, Dylan and the Horsemen manage to escape the authorities. Dylan then visits the Greenwich Observatory, where he discovers the deeper roots of the Eye organization and accepts a new leadership role passed on by Thaddeus Bradley. Earlier this month at CinemaCon, Lionsgate's Motion Picture Group chair Adam Fogelson previewed the film, saying, 'We can't wait for audiences to discover what [Fleischer's] done with the third film, and [we're] thrilled he'll be making even more magic with us'
