Cardinals sign fourth-round linebacker Cody Simon
The Cardinals signed fourth-round pick Cody Simon on Monday, the team announced.
Arizona made the Ohio State linebacker the 115th overall pick.
The Cardinals have signed five of their seven selections, with only first-round pick Walter Nolen III and second-round pick Will Johnson unsigned.
Simon will compete for the starting job alongside Mack Wilson Sr. at inside linebacker. Free agent signees Akeem Davis-Gaither and Mykel Walker and holdover Owen Pappoe are other candidates for the job.
Simon earned defensive MVP honors at the CFP National Championship and the Rose Bowl last season. He had 112 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, seven sacks and seven passes defensed in 2024.
During his five seasons at Ohio State, Simon played 58 games with 30 starts and had 259 tackles, 23 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, 11 passes defensed, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and one interception. He was a four-time OSU Scholar-Athlete and four-time Academic All-Big Ten selection.

Jay Feely, a former NFL kicker who is running for Congress in Arizona, made his stance on men in women's sports known as he weighed in on the Simone Biles-Riley Gaines feud on Saturday. Feely wrote on X in response to Biles' personal attack on Gaines, "men don't belong in women's sports!" "@Simone_Biles argument is the antithesis of title 9 and equal opportunity it's provided for women. It puts girls in dangerous, compromising situations so a man pretending to be a woman can feel better about themselves," Feely wrote. Feely added his support for Gaines in the post. "Simone doesn't win any medal if she competes against men," he wrote. "Serena Williams doesn't win any tournaments if she competes against men. They are the best ever to do it. Why should we compromise with our high school and college girls and take away their opportunities." Biles went after Gaines as the OutKick podcast host reacted to a transgender pitcher competing in the Minnesota state softball championship. Hurricanes fall one victory short of a berth in the College World Series after loss at Louisville
In a battle defined by grit and high emotions, the Miami Hurricanes fell to the Louisville Cardinals, 3-2, in Game 3 of the NCAA Louisville Super Regional. The Hurricanes conclude the 2025 season with a 35-27 overall record, including a 15-14 record in Atlantic Coast Conference play, and reached their first Super Regional since 2016. In a tight contest through the early innings, Max Galvin put Miami on the board in style. After freshman Michael Torres singled to left-center on an 0-2 pitch, Galvin blasted a two-run homer down the right-field line, giving the Hurricanes a 2-0 lead in the second inning. Louisville answered in the fourth inning, beginning with a bunt single down the third-base line by Garret Pike. Zion Rose followed with an RBI double down the left-field line, bringing Pike home and cutting Miami's lead in half. Tague Davis then singled to right, advancing Rose to third as the Cardinals threatened with runners on the corners. The regional hosts escaped the jam with a clutch double play that began with a force at home and ended with Renzo Gonzalez being thrown out at first. Smith responded with authority, striking out the side in order as tension mounted across Jim Patterson Stadium. The Cardinals broke the tie in the seventh when Munroe singled and advanced to second on a wild pitch. King Jr. followed with an RBI double to center, scoring Munroe and giving Louisville a 3-2 lead. In the top of the ninth, the Hurricanes threatened with runners on first and second with one out, but came up short as the Cardinals shut the door to seal the win.
