The best photos from day two of Darlington Pride - can you spot yourself?
Darlington Pride returned for a second day with families turning out for a special picnic. Pride in the Park kicked off in Hopetown on Sunday morning with families enjoying crafts, face painting, live music by Tracks Darlington, bubbles and storytelling. The event celebrates the LGBTQ+ community and follows a parade in Darlington town centre on Saturday. Hundreds flocked to the Market Square just before lunchtime donning flags and colourful outfits. The parade featured stalls, tribute acts, performances and speeches from the stage and was hosted by drag star Tess Tickle - and the fun is not over yet. Darlington Pride will conclude on Monday with MonGay Pride. They'll be live music, parties and special guests at venues across the town centre from 6pm to late. The celebrations will honour the longstanding legacy of Darlington's annual MonGAY Pride night. Here are 12 photos from Sunday's event: (Image: Northern Echo) (Image: Northern Echo) (Image: Northern Echo) (Image: Northern Echo)(Image: Northern Echo) (Image: Northern Echo) Pride Picnic at Hopetown, pictured in Charlotte Hall (Image: Northern Echo) Morgan Stockton (Image: Northern Echo) Pride Picnic at Hopetown, pictured Nikki Rett and Lavender Love (Image: Northern Echo) (Image: Northern Echo) (Image: Northern Echo)

Meet Pokey, an undersized Eastern box turtle with a cult following
When she first met the eastern box turtle named Pokey, Cleo Bowen-Wiggins was still in diapers — far too young to recognize she was in the presence of a local celebrity. But like so many others, she was captivated by the creature, sparking an unlikely friendship that endured for years. So there was no question as to whether Bowen-Wiggins, now 15, would be in attendance Saturday for Pokey's 30th birthday celebration. Held at Pokey's home inside the Rock Creek Park Nature Center and Planetarium in D.C., the event doubled as a turtle tribute.
