Kurnool Municipal Corporation (KMC) Commissioner P. Viswanatha on Monday inaugurated the new branch of Karur Vysya Bank (KVB) in Kurnool-Nandyal checkpost. An ATM was also inaugurated on the branch premises by Dr. K.V. Subba Reddy, Chairman and Professor of English, Dr. K.V. Subba Reddy Institute of Technology.
The new branch offers a comprehensive range of banking services like accounts, deposits and loans including savings and current accounts and it will cater to all basic banking transactions and specific needs of customers, offering the entire spectrum of banking products and financial services covering Retail, Institutional and Consumer lending.
Speaking on the branch expansion, Ramesh Babu, Managing Director and CEO, Karur Vysya Bank, said, 'The branch expansion is part of a strategic initiative to strengthen our presence in potential markets and bring our services closer to customers. At KVB, we continuously work to enhance our service delivery through a combination of physical branches and digital platforms. Last financial year, we opened 50 new branches and we plan to further strengthen our presence this year to support our growing customer base.'

The five institutions will focus on different areas. While one will offer free online classes for JEE/NEET exams to Class IX-XII students at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya and Simultala Vidyalaya, another will provide similar classes for National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship exam to Class VIII students, with a special focus on those from rural areas. Another institution will introduce a holistic English language learning programme to enhance students' reading, communication and comprehension skills. Yet another will provide a weekly two-day module for Class VII-XII students, teaching them life and digital skills, and sustainable entrepreneurship. "We want the impact of each MoU to be clearly visible at the grassroots level, and for this, a system of regular monitoring and outcome-based evaluation will be ensured," he said. The department's additional chief secretary, S Siddharth, said Bihar has the highest number of students in the country. BioNEST at CFTRI, in collaboration with the Coffee Quality Division, Coffee Board of India, has organised a five-day specialised Barista Training Program aimed at promoting excellence in coffee brewing and service. The program, titled 'A Bean to Brew Journey – Master the Basics of Brewing', will be held from September 1 to 5 at CSIR-CFTRI, Mysuru. This hands-on, non-residential program is open to individuals who have completed their 12th standard and wish to gain professional coffee-making expertise. The training will be conducted in English, with lunch and coffee provided daily. Participants will learn and practice essential skills for the coffee industry, including Espresso Basics – Mastering grind size, extraction, and tamping; Milk Frothing & Latte Art – Creating perfect microfoam and its designs; Customer Service Excellence – Building rapport and delivering quality; Coffee Knowledge – From bean origins to tasting notes; Equipment Maintenance – Caring for espresso machines and grinders; Hygiene and Safety – Ensuring quality and cleanliness and Certification – From the Coffee Board to be distributed, a press release said.
