Chastain stars as an undercover investigator known as 'The Savant' who 'infiltrates online hate groups in an effort to stop domestic extremists before they act,' per the official description. The cast also includes Nnamdi Asomugha (Sylvie's Love), Cole Doman (Gossip Girl), Jordana Spiro (Ozark), Trinity Lee Shirley, Toussaint Francois Battiste, and guest star Pablo Schreiber (Orange Is the New Black).

* Netflix's August acquisitions include Love Life (dropping Tuesday, Aug. 5); Outlander Season 7, Part 1 and Sullivan's Crossing Season 3 (both on Monday, Aug. 11); the Quantum Leap reboot (Thursday, Aug. 14); and Extant (Monday, Aug. 18).
* Tempest, a K-Drama/espionage thriller starring Gianna Jun (My Love from the Star), Gang Dong-won (Too Beautiful to Lie), John Cho (Selfie) and Michael Gaston (Daredevil: Born Again), will premiere Wednesday, Sept. 10 on Disney+ (with its first three episodes, followed by weekly drops through Oct. 1).

Buffy the Vampire Slayer Reboot Adds 5 to Cast
The reboot has added five new cast members. Sarah Michelle Gellar will reprise her iconic role in the forthcoming Buffy the Vampire reboot, which will also star Ryan Kiera Armstrong. Nora Zuckerman and Lila Zuckerman are attached to write, showrun, and executive produce the new series. Who has joined the cast of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot? Per Variety, the cast of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot now also includes Faly Rakotohavana as Hugo, Ava Jean as Larkin, Sarah Bock as Gracie, Daniel di Tomasso as Abe, and Jack Cutmore-Scott as Mr. Burke. Faly Rakotohavana played Finn in the Unprisoned television show and has starred in movies such as 2018's Nightmare Cinema and 2020's Secret Society of Second Born Royals. Jean, meanwhile, starred in 2023's Holiday Twist and a recent episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Bock is known for playing Miss Huang in the second season of Apple TV+'s Severance, while di Tomasso has appeared in projects such as Witches of East End, Timeless, Major Crimes, Chicago Fire, French Exit, The Republic of Sarah, and CSI: Vegas. Lastly, Cutmore-Scott played Rufus Saville in 2014's Kingsman: The Secret Service before he was in 2017's Dunkirk, 2017's Bad Match, 2020's Tenet, and 2023's Oppenheimer. He also played Frederick 'Freddy' Crane in the Frasier reboot, and has been in other shows such as Magnum P.I., Hawaii Five-0, and Law and Order. Chloé Zhao is attached to direct and executive produce the Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot pilot for her Book of Shadows production banner. Other executive producers include Gellar, Gail Berman, Fran Kuzui, Kaz Kuzui, and Dolly Parton. 20th Television and Searchlight Television will produce. 'Stick' cast share what they want next for their characters in Season 2: 'It starts at the top'
Warning: Spoilers for "Stick" Season 1, including the finale We've reached that bittersweet moment of the Apple TV+ show Stick where we've seen the season finale end on a high note, but that means we don't have a new episode to look forward to next week. Going into the finale with Santi's (Peter Dager) estranged father, Gary (Mackenzie Astin), showing up at his golf tournament, fans were interested to see how that dynamic played out. While Santi initially decides to switch out Pryce (Owen Wilson) as his caddie for his dad, when the pressure of the tournament is on and Santi makes some mistakes, we see Gary's verbal abuse. It's in that moment Santi realizes that while he hoped his dad would be supportive, things haven't changed from the circumstances of his youth. But Pryce is there to support Santi in a way Gary never has, as Santi chooses Pryce as his caddie for the final holes. As Pryce tells Santi it's completely his call how he finishes the game, Zero (Lilli Kay) starts singing Simon & Garfunkel's "Cecilia," as a way to calm down and support Santi. It's a song Pryce already revealed helps him get through stressful moments, and the whole crowd at the tournament follows Zero's lead and starts singing. Santi's success comes back to finish the tournament, but it's not enough to win. The season finale ends with Santi convincing Pryce to play a game of golf with him, telling Pryce to not take it easy on him. As Pryce strikes the ball, resulting in an "oh shit" reaction from Santi, the episode ends. 'I trust them more than any of my particular wishes and desires' With that finale moment, fans are wondering whether Season 2 could include Pryce's return to competitive golf, with creator Jason Keller telling Deadline that's something he'd "want to explore." For Lilli Kay, who plays Zero, while a romantic relationship blossomed between them and Santi, Kay wants Zero to be explored with more independence in Season 2. "My wish list for Zero is for Zero to get to come into their own, with their own passions and their own things, alongside ... getting to support [Santi] and encourage him," Kay told Yahoo Canada. "Knowing the sort of partnership they have, I know that he would show up for them the same way that they show up for him." But one thing Kay highlighted for Season 1 is the effective way that the show's creative team, Keller and executive producer and writer Christopher Moynihan in particular, crafted Zero, a gender-fluid character, in Stick. "This was a conversation that I had with Jason before even the chemistry read with Peter, 'I want to make sure that I'm the right person for this, ... that my identity is aligned with this character and what you're trying to do here,'" Kay said. "First of all, Jason just blew me away in that conversation. And second of all, we continued to have conversations every step of the way." "They were so inviting and welcoming and collaborative about all of it. ... We had a lot of the scripts and we were on the phone going, OK does this beat track? Does this make sense? And being that Zero and I identify the same way, I think that was a really helpful tool, because I was allowed to be in dialogue with everyone. It became just really organic and really easy to do that authentically, because it was just me." For Peter Dager, while he jokingly identified that he'd love for Santi to "have a six pack" in Season 2, he stressed that he has total confidence in the team behind the show to continue the story in a positive way. "It starts at the top," Dager said. "You can sort of save some things as an actor and make things happen on the day, but if the structure is good, then everybody who gets added to bring that thing to life, it's probably going to be good, or feel good." "Jason and Chris in the room, and Apple as a studio fully believing in it, it's felt throughout the whole set. And so if we get to do it again, I completely trust the people at the top to make sure that we've got a good story and everybody's fulfilled, and everybody feels like they've got something to do the next time. ... I trust them more than any of my particular wishes and desires."

71-Year-Old Jockey Perry Ouzts Approaching New Record originally appeared on Paulick Report. "Ironman" jockey Perry Ouzts, 71, will start a new record for starts in a Thoroughbred horse race in this Saturday's fifth race at Belterra Park in Cincinnati, Ohio. The veteran jockey will enter the starting gate for a 53,579th time, eclipsing the previous record set by retired California-based rider Russell Baze. At this writing, Ouzts sports a record of 53,570 starts– 7,514 wins – 7,013 seconds – 6,694 thirds, for earnings of $53,055,913. The next active rider is Hall of Famer John Velazquez with 37,363 mounts and 6,703 is also the record holder as the oldest jockey to win a race in North America — a feat he accomplished last summer. Ouzts has spent most of his career riding in Northern Kentucky and Ohio. Though he has never won a graded stakes race, he was the subject of an award-winning 2015 documentary "Ironman Perry Ouzts," produced by the Hennegan ranks fifth all-time in wins, trailing only Russell Baze (12,842 wins), Laffit Pincay Jr. (9,530), William Shoemaker (8,833), and Pat Day (8,803).Ouzts told John Engelhardt that loyalty has been a key factor in his success. He credits the support of trainers W.J. Danner, Larry Holt, Joe Woodard, Bill Connelly, Matt Kordenbrock, Barb Riley and Larry Smith for the many winners they have put him up on. He has also had the same agent, Jamie Fowler, for 38 years. Fowler contracted throat cancer in February of 2023 and has undergone 50 radiation treatments, several surgeries, and 10 months of physical therapy. This week, Fowler was declared cancer-free. According to Ouzts: 'I asked if he could still do the job from home when it was discovered, and with texting, video replays and other on-line features, he hasn't missed a beat.' He has won 35 meet titles at River Downs/Belterra Park, 13 titles at the now defunct, Beulah Park and 2 titles at Turfway Park. He won the last race at River Downs and the first race there under its new name Belterra Park. He was the first jockey to win a stakes race at 70 years old. His richest races won were the $200,000 Cradle Stakes (2007), the $100,000 Queen City Oaks (1988) and the $100,000 Green Carpet Stakes (this season). He won four races on a horse named Oats N' Ouzts.
