Next Gen Ducati Monster Spied Testing- What's New?
Starting with the most prominent change, the next-gen Ducati Monster test mule is equipped with the aforementioned 890 cc engine. This is a replacement for the 937 cc Testastretta that has been used on the bike until now. This is easy to figure out, considering the shape of the power source, which is different compared to the outgoing version of the bike. Along with this, the radiator seems to be larger.

The 890 cc L-twin was revealed by the brand at the EICMA 2024. It is the Italian manufacturer's lightest twin-cylinder engine, tipping the scales at 54 kg. The engine is presently employed on models like Multistrada V2, Panigale V2, and Streetfighter V2.
Based on the recently leaked document from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the same 890 cc engine will be used for the future version of the DesertX. The models with these engines will likely be available in the market starting 2026.
To house the new engine, the brand seems to have made revisions to the frame of the middle-weight motorcycle. Specifically, the rear subframe seems to have been redesigned. Additionally, there is a bigger catalytic converter. All of these changes might contribute to making the bike better to comply with the latest emission norms.
The camouflage-clad test mule managed to hide the design details of the machine. However, considering the brand's recent activity, it is expected to have changes in design, which will result in a different riding stance. Even with these changes, the bike will not drift far apart from its predecessors, which come with a round headlamp.

Austrian MotoGP 2025, Qualifying: Marc Marquez crashes, Marco Bezzecchi claims first pole of the season
Aprilia's Marco Bezzecchi delivered a stunning turnaround to claim his first pole position of the season at the Austrian Grand Prix on Saturday, while championship leader Marc Marquez's front-row bid ended in the gravel after a costly crash. Bezzecchi had to battle through the Q1 qualifying session to secure the final Q2 spot before clocking one minute and 28.060 seconds to snatch pole position at the Red Bull Ring. It marked Bezzecchi's fifth career pole and his first since the Indian Grand Prix in 2023, with the Italian crediting MotoGP great Valentino Rossi for crucial late-night assistance after Friday's disappointing practice sessions. 'Yesterday afternoon, I was a bit sad because I saw some positives. But then in the time attacks from the practice, I couldn't really make any lap time,' said Bezzecchi, who progressed through the ranks at Rossi's VR46 Riders Academy. A SUPER LAP BY BEZ TO GO TO P1🔥#AustrianGP 🇦🇹 — MotoGP™🏁 (@MotoGP) August 16, 2025 'We discovered what was wrong ... I really have to thank Vale a lot because he came to the box yesterday and we worked until late night and yeah, big thanks to him. 'Also, thanks to the team, they did a wonderful job as always. I will try my best as always this afternoon (in the sprint) and then tomorrow.' Bezzecchi is joined on the front row by Gresini Racing's Alex Marquez, who sits second in the championship, and Ducati's Francesco Bagnaia. Marc Marquez, who has won the last five Grands Prix, is seeking a first ever victory at the Red Bull Ring but after initially setting the fastest lap, he was pushed off the front row and will start fourth on the grid. The Spaniard's attempt at one final flying lap ended dramatically when he clipped the kerb on turn two and crashed into the gravel, unable to improve his time despite steering his battered Ducati through the remaining corners. KTM's Pedro Acosta had to abandon his lap midway and ride through the paddock to return to the pits as surprised staff jumped out of the way and the 21-year-old attempted one more lap to fight for pole at the team's home track. Acosta looked well set for pole when he went fastest on the first two sectors but made a mistake which required him to regain control and will start seventh on the grid behind Enea Bastianini and Fermin Aldeguer. Meanwhile, KTM Tech3's Maverick Vinales will sit out the rest of the weekend due to intense pain in his left shoulder having just returned from surgery.

Lamborghini wants to vroom ahead in its limited-edition hybrid Fenomeno
Italian luxury marque Automobili Lamborghini has introduced its most powerful V12 yet with the launch of the Fenomeno, a few-off limited edition PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle) supercar. The company said the adoption of a hybrid drivetrain was aimed at enhancing driving pleasure rather than following industry trends. 'We didn't do hybrid because everyone else is doing it; we did it when it could offer more driving pleasure,' Matteo Ortenzi, Revuelto Product Line Director told ETAuto during a media interaction. He added that the move coincided with the availability of technology that could deliver performance gains without diluting the brand's core identity. Revealed at the Monterey Car Week 2025, the Fenomeno is a limited edition of 29 units which are already sold out. It is paired with a 6.5-litre V12 engine with three electric motors to produce a combined 1,080 CV — 835 CV from the V12 and 245 CV from the electric units. It can sprint from 0-100 km/h in 2.4 seconds, reach 200 km/h in 6.7 seconds and has a top speed of over 350 km/h. Its dry weight-to-power ratio stands at 1.64 kg/CV. ETAuto earlier reported how Lamborghini is moving ahead with hybrid powertrains as electrification is coming at a slower pace than expected. However, the company plans to launch its upcoming electric vehicle models as per the schedule. Aligning with company's strategy Lamborghini said the new hybrid system, combined with a high-revving combustion engine, is designed to ensure electrification complements rather than compromises its trademark driving experience. The system features two axial-flow electric motors on the front axle for torque vectoring and regenerative braking, and a third integrated into the eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox to deliver rear-axle torque and support all-electric driving. It comes with a 7 kWh lithium-ion battery that is positioned centrally in the chassis. Described as a 'design manifesto', the Fenomeno sports a longtail profile, clean lines and advanced aerodynamics, including an S-Duct system, a mobile rear wing with an 'omega' design and more than 30 per cent more efficient side cooling compared to production V12 models. It also debuts the new Lamborghini logo unveiled in 2024. The model continues the brand's tradition of limited-run cars such as the Reventón, Sesto Elemento, Veneno, Centenario, Sián and Countach, with deliveries restricted to select clients. In 2024, the italian brand sold a record 113 units in India, a 10 per cent growth compared to 2023.
