Gunfire erupts after victim run over just steps from L.A. sheriff's station
Authorities in the Antelope Valley are investigating after gunfire erupted just steps from a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Station.
In a news release Wednesday afternoon, sheriff's officials said deputies responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call in the 4400 block of Beech Avenue.
'The location is a barbershop business located approximately 30 feet from Lancaster Sheriff's Station property line,' the release noted.
At the location, deputies found a man suffering from serious but non-life-threatening injuries. They rendered medical aid while waiting for medical personnel to arrive and take the victim to the hospital.
In the course of their investigation, deputies realized that the victim had not been shot but had been run over by a vehicle.

'After the victim was run over, the suspect, who was standing in the area, fired several rounds toward the vehicle,' officials said.
The suspect, who authorities did not identify, was arrested and a firearm was recovered.
It is unknown if the suspect intentionally ran over the victim with the vehicle or if the vehicle was later struck by gunfire.
No additional information was provided.

Suspect wanted in deadly Pico Rivera shooting
Authorities are searching for a suspect in connection with a deadly shooting in Pico Rivera.
