Gino D'Acampo blasted over 'disturbing' video branded 'highly inappropriate'

Under-fire 42-year-old TV chef Gino D'Acampo has angered fans by his treatment of live animals with one vowing to go vegetarian after watching his 'upsetting' video
TV chef Gino D'Acampo has provoked fury after uploading an 'alarming' cooking video involving two cute live quails.
Gino - battling allegations of sexually inappropriate behaviour which has seen ITV drop the star - caused outrage with the clip on social media. Seen before he prepares a meal, the 42-year-old kisses the live creatures in the first shot after grabbing them tight. Then, in the follow up, the Italian dangles the animals' corpses as Bob Marley's song Three Little Birds plays, before plating up the cooked quails.

He captioned the video: "And that's how it's done!!!… Chargrilled Quails with zucchine and garlic vinaigrette. The perfect summer's dish… Ask your butcher for quails, try it and let me know." But his actions have enraged fans, who hit out the telly star for his treatment of the animals. MirrorOnline have approached Gino for his response to their response.

"I'm not a vegan, but this anthropocentric exhibitionism disgusts me," one told him. Another hit out, saying: "Disturbing and upsetting. It's like showing a cute puppy and then showing it euthanized." A third person told the star: "I just feel numb and thinking now about becoming a vegetarian tbh."
The star took a step away from public life following allegations of sexually inappropriate behaviour aimed at him - claims he strongly denies. As a result former This Morning host Gino was removed from ITV's programming in February. ITV reported that dozens of former staff and freelancers made allegations about working with Gino, calling his behaviour over a reported 12 year period 'unacceptable,' 'distressing,' and 'horrendous'.

Since the allegations, his shows have been pulled from ITV's schedule. Gino, 48, 'firmly denied' accusations of inappropriate behaviour including using sexualised and aggressive language over a period of 12 years made following an ITV News investigation, and it has been reported he is using his time to flog his property.
He said the claims against him were 'simply not in my nature'. Amid the reports, it was claimed Gordon Ramsay, his co-star in Gordon, Gino and Fred's Road Trip, had distanced himself from the presenter. But Gino insists they're still firm friends. Now the Italian presenter has revealed plans to return to telly with a new travelogue, to be filmed later this year.

"I would not do anything that I thought would upset or distress anyone. This is simply not in my nature. I do not recognise the version of events being put to me. "Not only have these allegations never been raised with me before, I have been repeatedly supported by executives at the highest level and was commissioned on prime-time programmes during the period in which it is now suggested I was acting inappropriately.
"I am a father, husband and have worked with well over 1,500 people on around 80 productions in my career, which I have been so proud of. I take such matters extremely seriously and the suggestion that I have acted in an improper way against is deeply upsetting."
Gino made some crass remarks in radio interview last week as he returns to spotlight. In sexualised comments about women's bodies, he told show hosts that a "real man" wants women to have "things to grab", while explaining that he prefers a curvier figure.

Emmerdale and Corrie times this week - full soap schedule amid ITV shake-up

Emmerdale and Coronation Street face a huge schedule change this week as ITV continue with their sports coverage. Here's when you'll find Emmerdale and Coronation Street on this week Emmerdale and Coronation Street fans face a huge shake-up this week as the soaps move times for the football. As usually happens, the soaps have been displaced this week on ITV to allow for the airing of various football matches. Those hoping to kick off their week with some Emmerdale and Coronation Street will be sorely disappointed as both soaps won't air on Monday due to back to back football coverage. The same will apply for Wednesday, with no soaps on. ‌ On Tuesday, viewers will be treated to a trip to the Dales whilst on Thursday, soap fans who love the drama in the Woolpack and the chaos on the Cobbles will get two full hours of soaps - one hour from each programme. ‌ Friday is the only day where the soaps will air as normal, with Emmerdale airing at 7.30pm and Coronation Street airing for its usual hour slot at 8pm. There will be no soaps on the weekend, despite 'missing' episodes. Usually we get three hours of Coronation Street every week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) and three hours of Emmerdale every week (half an hour each day and an hour on Thursday). However, this week, we will only get two hours of Emmerdale and two hours of Coronation Street across the five days. ‌ This actually aligns more with the plans for the soaps from 2026. From next January, the soaps have been cut by half an hour each. Instead of airing at their current pattern, there will be a 'power hour' of soaps. Emmerdale episodes will air at 8pm, and Coronation Street episodes will air at 8.30pm. These will air in half an hour slots from 2026, meaning the soaps will be cut down by half an hour each each week. ‌ Kevin Lygo, ITV's Managing Director of Media and Entertainment, said: "This new pattern is in the DNA of the soap genre - nobody else does 30 minute drama this successfully. "It creates a soap power hour that's consistent, and easy to find in the linear schedule, for the UK's biggest soaps. This new commissioning pattern will mean five hours of soaps a week, rather than the current six. We are conscious this will have an impact for the people who work on the soaps team. We will support our colleagues in ITV Studios as they work through these changes, and will do what we can to mitigate the impact on our people." ‌ Tuesday: Emmerdale 7.30pm ‌ Wednesday: No soaps Friday: Emmerdale 7.30pm, Coronation Street 8pm

Love Island chaos as six bombshells hit Casa Amor with raunchy challenge

After audiences got a glimpse of how the boys are feeling about being introduced to the new arrivals at Casa Amor, tonight it is the girls' turn to raise eyebrows in the original villa. There's set to be chaos on Love Island villa tonight as six sizzling new bombshells take the original villa by storm. Fans of the ITV dating show have been counting down the days until Casa Amor, and now it's finally here, they are sure to get all the drama they have been looking for as the Islanders start to have their heads turned. ‌ In scenes that aired this weekend, viewers saw the boys leave the main villa and head off to the infamous second Majorca mansion, where they were introduced to new arrivals. ‌ Meanwhile tonight viewers will get to tune in to see the girls at the original villa getting giggly with excitement as they gather around the firepit to size up the new lads. Boris, who is a model, wastes no time in making his intentions clear as he declares: "Shakira was not treated well from day one… and I have come here to repair that." Later on Yasmin and Toni whisk 26-year-old electric engineer Jamie away for a cosy chat by the firepit, and they both seem eager to get to know him. ‌ And it's not long before both villas find themselves going head-to-head in the show's infamous Raunchy Races challenge. A text arrives, announcing: "Islanders, phones at the ready as the Villa and Casa Amor are going head to head in tonight's challenge, Raunchy Races. The villa that gets the most points will win a party tonight. #MayTheBestVillaWin #TeamPixel." From there, things get seriously steamy as the Islanders are tasked with completing a series of cheeky dares while racing the other villa to get the most points. One text requests the boy with the most tattoos to snog the girl he thinks is relationship material. Over in Casa Amor, Meg is quick to question: "Who's got the most tattoos, D?" ‌ Sensing Meg's nerves, Shakira warns the boys: "Trust me, you don't want to see when D comes back off a date… Scary." And the drama doesn't stop there. Old flames Harry and Emma end up sharing a kiss when the eldest boy is asked to snog the eldest girl, causing even more tension. Elsewhere, things heat up between Dejon and Andrada, who share a flirty moment in the Snug. Dejon doesn't hold back as he tells her: "Out of all the bombshells that have come in, you're definitely my favourite… You've got it both, the looks, the personality." He continues buttering her up, adding: "And even though you get nervous and shy, you're still confident, you get like a cute, nervous and shy." ‌ All the while Meg is back in the original villa, wondering if her other half is being faithful to her or not. Viewers were previously left shocked when Tommy stopped being all eyes for Emily after entering Casa Amor, telling the newcomers some of them "definitely tickle my fancy". This happened after he had already sweet talked Emily into thinking their relationship was quite serious, telling her how excited he was for her to meet his family on the outside. Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
