A few weeks ago, I was haunting the page of one of my favourite Instagram accounts. This is a woman who is everything I am not but that I aspire to be. She has a rake of kids and a job and an immaculate house and even an enviable self-care routine — basically she has her s**t together on an Olympian-level. If you could go pro at having your s**t together, this woman would hold some kind of world title. How is she managing this?
Obviously I know there's a world of difference between Instagram and reality. But the fact that she's got it together enough to post aesthetically pleasing content about her day tells me she is running her day a whole lot better than me. She's not flailing and scrambling to catch up. The day's tasks are so in hand, she's actually able to film them and post perfectly edited snapshots of a life I haven't a hope of emulating.
