The New York Islanders hold the first overall pick, and who they take at that spot could define the future of their franchise. There are several options for New York, including the hometown guy, James Hagens, but Matthew Schaefer seems like the clear-cut best option to take at the top of this draft. He is the best player on the board and is believed to be the type of player who can captain a defense for years to come while also contributing on the offensive end. Michael Misa, Anton Frondell, Porter Martone, and Caleb Desnoyers are some of the other names to keep an eye on during the first round. San Jose holds the second pick with Chicago, Utah, and Nashville rounding out the top five. This is a great NHL event that you will not want to miss; make sure to tune in and catch all the action. NFL top 100 debuts June 30, which Indianapolis Colts players could make rankings?
The 2025 NFL top 100 rankings will debut on June 30th. How many Indianapolis Colts players could make the list? The NFL is set to unveil its list of the top 100 players for the 2025 NFL season, as voted on by the players, beginning on June 30th. So, how many Indianapolis Colts players could appear on the rankings this year? The unveiling of this list will go from June 30th through August 29th, with two new players being revealed each weekday as the countdown goes from No. 100 down to No. 1. The player reveals will take place on X at 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM ET on weekdays and feature a three to five-minute video about each member on the list. Which Indianapolis Colts players could make the NFL's top 100 list in 2025? Last season, linebacker Zaire Franklin was the only member of the Colts to make this list. He came in at No. 100. Franklin should again be in consideration with him coming off a second-team All-Pro season in 2024, which included him leading the NFL in tackles. Along with Franklin, defensive tackle DeForest Buckner is a prime candidate for this list, as is left guard Quenton Nelson. By PFF's metrics, Buckner was one of the more disruptive defensive tackles in the game last season, while Nelson made another Pro Bowl and was a second-team All-Pro. Following a bounce-back season by Jonathan Taylor, who finished fourth in rushing yards in the NFL, he could certainly have received some votes for these rankings as well. Lastly, I'll also mention Cam Bynum, who has had very good ball production over the last two seasons and has filled a variety of roles in the Minnesota secondary. Charvarius Ward, meanwhile, is one year removed from an All-Pro season in 2023, while Bernhard Raimann continues to improve and, by PFF's metrics, was one of the better tackles in 2024. Now, with all that said, while these players may be the best candidates on this Colts team, not all will make it. I would say that Franklin, Buckner, and Nelson are the most likely to land on this list.

Padres Urged To Pursue Trade For $4.5 Million Veteran Catcher
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The San Diego Padres have a very talented roster, but they're still a tick behind the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League West. However, the Padres could look to close the gap a bit on the Dodgers by swinging a trade to upgrade their catcher in the coming weeks. Padres catchers have been a net negative to the team at this point. Cameron Zunkel of Clutch Points recently urged the Padres to pursue a trade for Minnesota Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers before the trade deadline. MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA - JUNE 22: Ryan Jeffers #27 of the Minnesota Twins celebrates after hitting a solo home run against the Milwaukee Brewers in the fourth inning of the game at Target Field on June... MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA - JUNE 22: Ryan Jeffers #27 of the Minnesota Twins celebrates after hitting a solo home run against the Milwaukee Brewers in the fourth inning of the game at Target Field on June 22, 2025 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. More"That is where Ryan Jeffers comes into play. Jeffers is a free agent after the 2026 season, and he is 28 years old," Zunkel wrote. "Along with that, Minnesota has a few catchers in their top prospect list that will be ready for the MLB in the next year or two. "On the season, Jeffers is slashing .248/.346/.402 with six home runs, 29 RBI, and just 47 strikeouts to 28 walks in 63 games played. The right-handed batter would be better than both the catchers San Diego is putting out there daily. His defense is just average, but his bat makes up for it. He might take a few prospects to acquire, but the Padres would be smart to pursue Ryan Jeffers. Doing so would make San Diego a World Series contender." A trade for Jeffers would likely be quite affordable, as the middle tier of catchers never seems to net a huge return on the trade market. Jeffers would be a significant upgrade over what the Padres have at the position right now. San Diego would transition from a negative-WAR catcher to somebody who could post 2.0 or 3.0 WAR across a solid season. It's a no-brainer.
