What are the expectations when you contest as an independent candidate in Nilambur?
I have good support from the people. I'm not the candidate, every voter in Nilambur is. The issues I have raised in this area, all sections of the population, all political parties, all religious groups, and those who are apolitical and who think against 'Pinarayism' are candidates with me. This will be an election that changes the political history of Kerala. It will bring a realisation to all political leaders. This election will also correct the misconception that people are slaves.
The contest is against two strong fronts...
The people are most important in election results. And the result that Kerala is waiting for will come out. There are no limitations in being an independent. The fight here is not against two fronts, but against 'Pinarayism'. The fight is between Pinarayi (Vijayan) and the people.
Is the main fight against Pinarayi or V D Satheesan?
The main fight is against 'Pinarayism'. On one side, there is a secretariat member of the party (CPM) who preaches '
Pinarayism' throughout Kerala. The UDF has a candidate who stands with Pinarayism. That is what V D Satheesan is supporting. People will express their feelings against that. Satheesan is the 'hidden Pinarayi' who has not uttered a single word of 'Pinarayism', even though I have been repeatedly speaking out against this 'Pinarayism' for the past nine months and have exposed the criminal gangs of the police in Malabar.

Nilambur bypoll: Teen's death sparks blame game
Kozhikode: The death of 15-year-old Anandu, who was electrocuted by a live wire trap at Vazhikkadavu, sparked a political row between UDF and LDF amid Nilambur byelection. UDF blamed the state govt linking the incident to rising man-animal conflicts in the high-range constituency and blocked the state highway at Nilambur on Saturday night in protest. LDF alleged a political conspiracy behind the incident. Forest minister AK Saseendran even suggested it might have been staged to gain political mileage. The minister's remarks, later echoed by CPM leaders and party state secretary MV Govindan, led Congress and IUML workers to intensify their protests and burn Saseendran in effigy at Vazhikkadavu. Youth Congress activists also staged a protest outside Kozhikode guest house where the minister was staying. "Even before residents came to know about the incident protests began in Malappuram. This raises suspicion of UDF's attempts to use it as a campaign issue in Nilambur against LDF. A clear political conspiracy is emerging as it is election time and everyone knows who is the beneficiary. "The minister is a failure in addressing man-animal conflicts and is now shifting the blame on others. What happened was painful and the minister was stupid to call it a conspiracy. He doesn't have time to address such an issue and gives inhuman statements" he said, adding that the minister should prove his conspiracy charges or resign from his post. Govindan too echoed Saseendran's views saying the way UDF turned the incident into a political weapon raises suspicion. He added that the phone call records of the accused should be examined. Following the incident, candidates Aryadan Shoukath, M Swaraj, PV Anvar and Mohan George visited Anandu's home. UDF candidate Shoukath said Anandu was a martyr of unaddressed man-animal conflicts in the area and raised suspicion whether the practice of illegally drawing power from KSEB lines to set up traps was being done with its knowledge. "It is a govt-sponsored murder" he claimed. LDF candidate M Swaraj said exploiting a tragedy for electoral gains is inhuman. He said there were no protests when a person affiliated to Congress died in a similar mishap in the area two months ago. "How can deaths be politicized? It is inhuman to politically exploit such incidents" he added. CPM politburo member A Vijayaraghavan said UDF-ruled Vazhikkadavu panchayat had not acted promptly by engaging shooters and alleged that UDF was using tragic deaths for political gains.

CPM protests demolition of Satavahana College
Vijayawada: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) on Saturday spearheaded a protest and dharna programme here, condemning the demolition of Satavahana College. Women, students, and youth actively participated in thedemonstration, raising slogans to protect Satavahana College and its valuable land. The protest stemmed from the late-night demolition of the college building by bulldozers. When CPM leaders attempted to inspect the site, they were reportedly obstructed by police, who denied them entry, citing lack of permission. Protesters escalated their actions by climbing the gates and tearing down banners erected by private individuals, creating a tense atmosphere. Addressing the gathering, CPM State secretariat member Ch Baburao and State committee member Donepudi Kasinadh criticised the demolition. 'We have never witnessed such an incident in Vijayawada's history, where college buildings are brought down by bulldozers in the dead of night, right in the heart of the state capital, surrounded by ministerial offices and the Chief Minister's residence,' stated Baburao. He further alleged that the government has turned a blind eye while encroachers, with apparent government backing, have illegally seized the nearly 55-year-old Satavahana College which has the assets worth Rs 200 crore. 'Initially, former TDP MLC Alapati Rajendra Prasad was accused, and the government machinery remained passive. Now, another party has demolished the college in the dead of night,' he said. Baburao raised concerns about the future of students and faculty. The CPM leaders reiterated that the land is under Urban Land Ceiling, meaning it does not belong to private owners. Therefore, the CPM demanded the government to immediately take possession of the college run it as a government college. The CPM leaders accused all involved parties of colluding to plunder the college and its land. CPM State committee member K Sridevi, city secretaries B Ramana Rao and Boya Satyababu, P Krishna, and city leaders T Praveen, Vishnu, Korada Ramana, Chandrashekar, Suribabu, Peeru, Jhansi, Nageswara Rao, Asha, and others participated.
