Live: Several flights cancelled, UAE launches emergency airport response plan
Major UAE airlines including Emirates, flydubai, Etihad, Wizz Air and Air Arabia have extended flight cancellations and suspensions due to ongoing airspace restrictions and regional instability. The latest updates as of June 19 show continued disruptions across multiple routes.

Emirates has prolonged its flight cancellations to several key Middle Eastern destinations. Flights to Amman in Jordan and Beirut in Lebanon remain suspended until June 22, while services to Tehran in Iran along with Baghdad and Basra in Iraq are cancelled until June 30.
The airline has confirmed that passengers with connecting flights to these destinations will not be accepted for travel until further notice. Affected travelers are being advised to rebook through their travel agents or via Emirates' Manage Booking portal, and to check for real-time updates on the airline's official website.
flydubai has also adjusted its cancellation timeline for several routes. Flights to Jordan, Lebanon and Syria are suspended until June 16, with some routes expected to resume gradually. Services to Minsk in Belarus and St. Petersburg in Russia remain cancelled until June 17, while flights to Iran, Iraq and Israel are suspended until June 20. Passengers are encouraged to verify their flight status through flydubai's website or by contacting the airline's 24/7 call center.

Etihad Airways has taken a mixed approach, resuming some routes while extending cancellations for others. The airline has cancelled all flights to Tel Aviv through June 17, with the situation remaining under review. However, services to Amman and Beirut resumed on June 15 with revised schedules. The airline has emphasized that transit passengers traveling to suspended destinations will not be accepted, and has directed customers to its website for the latest updates.
Low-cost carriers Wizz Air and Air Arabia continue to experience significant disruptions. Wizz Air has suspended all flights to Tel Aviv and Amman until June 20, offering affected passengers free rebooking options or refunds. Air Arabia cancelled numerous flights to Iran, Iraq, Russia and several Central Asian countries between June 13-14, and is not accepting any transit passengers to these destinations.
Affected flydubai passengers can reach out to the flydubai Contact Centre (+971 600 54 44 45), visit the flydubai Travel Shop, or contact their travel agents for assistance.
A Dubai Airports spokesperson confirmed the disruptions, stating: 'Due to the closure of airspace over Iran, Iraq, Jordan, and Syria, some flights at DXB and DWC were cancelled or delayed. We are working with airlines to minimise inconvenience to passengers.'
Dubai Airports has issued an advisory confirming ongoing delays and cancellations at both Dubai International (DXB) and Al Maktoum International (DWC). UAE airline flight suspensions: flydubai, Etihad, Air Arabia and Emirates travel update
UAE airlines continue to report suspensions and cancellations of flights as conflict between Israel and Iran impacts airspace and travel. UAE carriers Etihad, flydubai, Air Arabia and Emirates have all announced suspended flights and airports have issued travel advisories amid closed air space and disrupted travel routes in the region. Flights from the UAE carriers to destinations, including Iran, Israel, Russia, Jordan and Iraq have been suspended. Etihad suspends some UAE flights In its most recent travel update Etihad shared details of extended flight suspensions on key routes. It said: 'Due to the ongoing airspace closures and the regional situation, Etihad has suspended all flights between: Abu Dhabi (AUH) and Tel Aviv (TLV) until and including June 30 Abu Dhabi (AUH) and Amman (AMM) until and including June 20 'Guests transiting through Abu Dhabi to connect to cancelled flights will not be accepted for travel from their point of origin. 'Impacted guests are being assisted with alternative travel arrangements. 'This remains an evolving situation, and further changes or disruptions may occur. Etihad continues to monitor developments closely in coordination with the relevant authorities. 'The safety of our guests and crew remains our highest priority, and we regret any inconvenience caused'. Emirates travellers can now hail Uber Rides and earn more miles under new partnership
Emirates and Uber have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore ways to make journeys more seamless for travellers. The partnership will focus on enhancing ground mobility for Emirates customers whilst offering Skywards members loyalty benefits when using Uber across select markets within the Emirates network, the airline said in a statement. Adnan Kazim, Emirates' Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, and Anabel Diaz Calderon, Vice President and Head of EMEA Mobility at Uber, signed the MoU. Emirates Skywards loyalty programme expands to include Uber Ride benefits 'Emirates is excited to join forces with Uber as part of our commitment to delivering seamless travel experiences. In the months ahead, we'll closely work together to leverage our combined capabilities in travel and technology to expand planning options, create more connected end-to-end journeys across our network, and introduce exciting new benefits for our Skywards members.
