After rulling the market with tech-loaded SUVs, the homegrown carmaker Mahindra is gearing up to introduce a rough and tough Pickup truck. It has been reported that the upcoming offering will be based on Scorpio N, and is expected to hit the market soon.
Ahead of the official release, a video of the model surfaced on the internet during the testing phase and has revealed some important details and key highlights.
The clip has been shared on Instagram with a handle named 'Autotubeindia'. Ever since the visuals were shared on social media, it has gained a massive viewership in no time, while potential customers bombarded the comment section, asking for the launch date.
Here's What To Expect
In the clip, the model can be seen fully covered in heavy camouflage, flaunting similar road presence as Scorpio N. As the clip moves further, it shows double-can elements, which seem like they can take a decent load. It features standard steel wheels, a halogen headlight setup, while the rear looks inspired by the Toyota Hilux.

Three of India's prominent automotive companies are preparing for significant product and technology unveilings in August, in what is shaping up to be a pivotal month for the domestic mobility sector. The Mahindra & Mahindra will headline on 15 August with the introduction of four Vision SUV concepts: Vision T, Vision S, Vision SXT and Vision X, developed on its newly engineered Freedom NU platform. The monocoque architecture, known internally as the New Flexible Architecture (NFA), is designed to accommodate petrol, diesel, hybrid and fully electric powertrains, reported HT Auto. The Vision T carries design cues reminiscent of the Thar, with pronounced wheel arches and a rugged stance. The Vision S exhibits similarities to the Scorpio, suggesting potential for an electric interpretation of the model. The Vision SXT adopts a pick-up inspired SUV format, which may evolve from Mahindra's earlier Global Pik-Up concept, while the Vision X is more compact and urban-oriented, indicating suitability for hybrid or electric family segments. Unlike a conventional model reveal, Mahindra's focus this year is platform-first. The Freedom NU's adaptability is intended to reduce engineering timelines and costs, enabling a broader range of vehicles without the need for entirely new structures. In addition to the four concepts, the updated Bolero Neo is anticipated, potentially adopting the same underpinnings. On the same day, Ola Electric will host its annual 'Sankalp' event at its Krishnagiri Gigafactory. Central to the announcements could be MoveOS 6, the latest iteration of its operating system for electric scooters. The update will likely incorporate artificial intelligence tools, including a chatbot, voice-assisted commands and predictive servicing, developed by Ola's AI unit, Krutrim. Ola has also previewed the 'Moonshot' Diamondhead motorcycle and is expected to enter the sports scooter category, a move that could expand its product portfolio significantly. Later in August, Ather Energy will stage the third edition of its Community Day. The Bengaluru-based firm is anticipated to reveal its EL platform, incorporating a revised powertrain, updated electronics, and battery components adapted from the existing 450 platform. Designed for scalability, the EL platform will likely underpin future scooters for Indian and export markets, with cost efficiency in mind. The forum will aim to steer India's long-term semiconductor strategy across manufacturing, capital goods, talent and innovation. 'The launch of the ICEA Semiconductor Leadership forum is a critical milestone in India's semiconductor journey. We aim to build Indian champions, deepen our supply chains, and accelerate R&D and innovation that position India as a strategic and indispensable node in the global semiconductor value chain," ICEA Chairman Pankaj Mohindroo said in a statement. India Semiconductor Mission, CEO, Amitesh Kumar Sinha said that India's ambition to emerge as a global hub for semiconductors is being realised through a combination of focused policy, strategic investments, and strong industry participation. Corning-Optiemus cover glass factory likely to begin operations from December
New Delhi, Aug 13 (PTI) US glass technology major Corning's joint venture project with Optiemus Infracom — Bharat Innovative Glass Technologies — is likely to begin operations in December this year, a company official said on Wednesday. Bharat Innovative Glass Technologies (BIG Tech) will be India's first facility to produce high-quality, finished cover-glass parts for mobile consumer electronics, helping meet growing manufacturer demand in India. 'We are trying to get it started in December this year," the official said in response to a question on the status of the BIG Tech facility. The cover-glass is fixed on top of the mobile display by the manufacturers to provide it a protection layer before shipping devices into the market. Corning's gorilla glass cover material has been designed into more than eight billion devices by more than 45 major brands, including Samsung, Xiaomi, Motorola, Oppo, Google Pixel, Huawei, Motorola, etc. Apple has also partnered with Corning to make all cover glass for iPhone and Apple Watch in Corning's manufacturing facility in Harrodsburg, Kentucky, with an investment of USD 2.5 billion. As per the announcement, 100 per cent of the cover glass on iPhone and Apple Watch units sold worldwide will be made in the US for the first time.
