McDonald's won't be bringing these massive boxes of fries to the UK

You can't order a Maccies without fries. We don't make the rules, but the fact is, no Big Mac or Quarter Pounder meal is complete without them.
Fry-loving Brits were at risk of some serious FOMO this week though, as McDonald's Malaysia launched an XXL version of the classic side dish.
To celebrate International French Fry Day, the chain dropped the Fan Fries Meal, which featured a gargantuan box of chips as the main event.
This promotional portion size looks like the equivalent of three large fries smushed together in an extended cardboard container. And if that wasn't enough for you, it comes with a drink and a side (of fries, no less) as well.
It's safe to say people were excited for the meal to drop — there was even a countdown to it in Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur's busy retail district.
But if you were thinking of booking a flight to Asia to get your hands on it, you're unfortunately too late.
The XXL fries were only available between July 11 and July 13, meaning unless you were in Malaysia, you'll have just missed out.
In even more devastating news, McDonald's has confirmed to Metro that there aren't any plans to introduce this in the UK. So if you want a huge serving of lightly-salted goodness, you'll have to order a few boxes separately.
Fast food fans were left with their mouths watering when the creation was shared on X. Its description as a shareable portion also appeared to be up for debate, with many claiming they could demolish the whole box without any help.
'This is a much more efficient way of ordering for me,' @razacodes joked. 'Now I don't have to buy four large fries.'
'I can finish this by myself,' added @FlairFantasy, while @LaPetiteADA asked: 'Why didn't they come up with this before?' More Trending
However, others were less on board with such humungous helpings, including one commenter who dubbed the invention 'criminal'.
For UK McDonald's customers gutted to have missed out, hopefully news of new menu item will quell your sadness: the Double Filet-O-Fish, which dropped on July 1.
The burger, which costs £5.29, features not one but two pollock fish patties in crispy breadcrumbs, along with melted cheese and tartare sauce inside a steamed bun.
Brits raced to get their hands on it, with those who tried it hailing it as 'perfect', 'truly amazing', 'the best' and 'worth the wait'.

You need a genius IQ to crack cryptic password in just 5 seconds

Discover whether you're a technical genius with this mind-boggling brainteaser that requires a razor-sharp mind, rapid reaction skills, and an unflappable disposition It's time to put on your thinking caps and test out your intellect with this baffling brainteaser that's leaving most Brits utterly stumped. Cracking riddles and cryptic puzzles may seem like nothing more than a boredom buster, but research has shown they can actually positively impact the central nervous system. ‌ This isn't enough to transform you into a rocket scientist or brain surgeon, but it could improve your concentration levels and better your attention span. This particular brainteaser, however, is so tricky that it may also result in bursts of anger and family rows. ‌ If you're a Countdown aficionado, you may have a slight advantage (even if you only watch the episodes with Jimmy Carr). So, let's dive straight in, shall we? ‌ The image above shows an incomplete password, and you need to solve it in just five seconds or less to prove you have the IQ of a genius. Fail, and you kiss goodbye to any chances of becoming the next Albert Einstein or Marie Curie. Okay so, what we know is the passwords start with the letter 'I' and ends with the letter 'N'. The letters 'A,T' are placed as the sixth and seventh letter. As previously reported, the remaining letters are: 'N, V, N, O, I, O'. ‌ We're not giving away any clues for this one, but if you're finding it a little too challenging - ignore the strict time limit and take as long as you need to solve the anagram. Once you're done, scroll down to the bottom of the article to reveal the answer. If that cryptic puzzle was no match for a boffin like yourself, check out this mind-boggling riddle that's been causing even bigger waves. No matter how many times you binge-watch Countdown, you'll still struggle with this one. ‌ "Mrs. Watt has 5 children. The oldest four children's names are Lala, Lele, Lili, and Lolo," the riddle reads. "What is the name of the youngest child - why do people laugh at her name?" Now, most people instantly think they have got the answer - and will proudly declare the fourth child is called 'Lulu'. This is because all the children have the same name with different vowels (A,E,I,O) and 'U' is the last one remaining. However, this isn't the correct answer - and if you fell for such an obvious trick you clearly don't have a sky-high IQ. If you reckon you dodged the trap, and think you've properly cracked the riddle, you can check your answer here. tricky brainteasers, baffling riddles, and mind-boggling puzzles here - or, learn more about your hidden personality traits with these fascinating optical illusions.

Vinny confides in Emmerdale legend about trying to kiss Kammy as doubts grow

Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) has got himself in quite the pickle in Emmerdale, having begun to question his sexual identity after getting engaged to a woman whose last ex pretended to be straight in order to scam her into marrying him. Some weeks ago now, after a close moment between them, Vinny accidentally leant in to kiss Kammy Hadiq (Shebz Miah). Kammy backed off immediately and it clear he didn't like Vinny that way, but has since been supportive of Vinny finding out who he really is. His first proper relationship before Gabby (Rosie Bentham) was asexual, so until now he hasn't had the chance to discover where his true sexual identity lies. He's been in denial to the point that he stepped up his wedding with Gabby in a bid to convince himself that he's straight. But all that has done is increase the internal turmoil for the awkward lad who has no idea how to back out of it. Vinny goes full steam ahead on the wedding, still lying to himself, and chats about his impending nuptials with Mandy (Lisa Riley) hoping reassurance from his mum will quell his growing fear. Kammy gifts Vinny a watch for his wedding and again Vinny is left trying to convince himself he's making the right move. More Trending But, when Kammy is busy at the scrap yard, Vinny watches him work with a lustful gaze and it is patently obvious that Vinny is making a mistake marrying a woman. Destination X on BBC One review: this travel show can't beat Race Across The World

This new reality series (which has been lifted from Belgian show Bestemming X) follows 16 Brits who meet in a German airport. Thirteen make it through an initial challenge and take off in helicopters wearing VR headsets so they don't know which direction they're travelling in. When they land in an anonymous location, they board a coach without blackout windows. None of the contestants know where they're going, although the odd clue lend the contestants – and us playing along at home – an idea as to their whereabouts. Rob Brydon is the games master, popping up next to random lakes and on the in-bus TV screens to dish out the team's latest cryptic tip-offs as they try to work out which part of Europe they're in.
