Khargone: An electricity distribution company employee was arrested on Thursday for stealing a mortgaged car using a duplicate key in Maheshwar.
Maheshwar police station in-charge Jagdish Goyal told TOI that an employee of MP Paschim Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company, Jitendra, was arrested along with the stolen car.
He said that a resident of Pardeshipura in Indore, Kishore Gehlod, had borrowed money from Golu Sharma of Indore. Unable to repay it, Kishore mortgaged his car to Golu who then began to rent it out. During this time, a Bhopal resident Ishwar rented this car to go to Maheshwar.
When Ishwar parked the car in a hotel in Maheshwar, Kishore got to know about it and gave the vehicle's duplicate key to his brother-in-law, Jitendra alias Jeet.
Jeet stole the car parked in front of the hotel and hid it in the grid of the electricity distribution company located in his hometown of Julwania in Barwani district.
Acting on Ishwar's complaint, the police recovered the car parked in Julwania with the help of CCTV cameras and arrested Jeet. After stealing the car with the help of his brother-in-law, Kishore had informed Golu Sharma that his car was stolen and that he should retrieve it.

HC allows Murugan devotees' conference

Madurai: Madras high court on Friday allowed the conduct of the Lord Murugan devotees' conference (Muruga Bakthargalin Aanmeega Maanadu), scheduled in Madurai on June 22. It however clarified certain conditions imposed by Madurai city police. Justice B Pugalendhi passed the order while hearing a plea moved by Hindu Munnani challenging certain conditions imposed by the police while granting permission for the conference. During the course of the hearing, the state submitted that the police passed an order on June 12 granting permission for the conference. However, Hindu Munnani submitted that the police imposed over 50 conditions, some of which it objected to. These included mandating participants to obtain passes from the concerned district police, barring them from conducting bike rally, asking them to obtain permission from HR & CE department and Madurai corporation, and barring use of drone cameras. The court also passed orders on another plea moved by Hindu Munnani seeking a direction to the authorities to permit them to set up temporary miniatures of the six abodes of Lord Murugan and perform pujas ahead of the devotees' conference. Copies of both the orders were not uploaded at the time of going to the press. Follow more information on Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad here . No fundamental right to seek LOC, says HC

1 2 3 Hyderabad: The Telangana high court has ruled that a complainant cannot claim the issuance of a look-out circular (LOC) against an accused as a matter of fundamental right. Dismissing a writ petition filed by a housewife who alleged police inaction in issuing LOCs against two accused women in a cheating case, the court imposed exemplary costs of ₹10,000 for misusing the court's writ jurisdiction. Justice T Vinod Kumar, delivering the judgment, held that seeking an LOC is not a fundamental right enforceable under Article 226 of the Constitution. "Non-issuance of an LOC does not violate any fundamental right of the complainant," the court observed, directing the petitioner to pay the cost to the high court legal services committee. The complainant had approached the court claiming that the failure of Vanasthalipuram police to issue LOCs allowed the accused to evade justice. However, the court noted that the investigation had already been completed, and a charge sheet was filed before the competent magistrate. Cognisance was taken as early as Feb 2025. Justice Kumar also questioned the timing of the writ petition, filed in April 2025—well after the chargesheet—suggesting it was a calculated attempt to exploit the court's summer vacation to secure interim relief. The case pertains to a complaint filed in Sept 2024, in which the petitioner alleged that two women cheated her of ₹25.66 lakh on the promise of securing a tier-II UK visa for her daughter. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Villas For Sale in Dubai Might Surprise You Dubai villas | search ads Get Deals Undo Instead, the accused allegedly diverted the funds to finance a relative's education in Scotland. The court clarified that if the petitioner remained dissatisfied with the investigation or the framing of charges, she had recourse to remedies available under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, but not under the writ jurisdiction for such a grievance.
