Bella Ramsey Wants ‘The Last of Us' Fans to Watch Upcoming Indie Films Like They're ‘Game of Thrones'
'I really hope that people will stick with me throughout stuff with 'The Last of Us' and beyond with all the little indie films I'm going to be doing as well,' Ramsey said. 'I hope that those will get as much love as amazing shows and franchises like 'The Last of Us' and 'Game of Thrones.' I feel very grateful for the support that I've had.' All in various stages of production, Ramsey has announced four upcoming film projects.

Currently, Ramsey is in Scotland shooting the coming-of-age comedy, 'Sunny Dancer' with Jessica Gunning, James Norton, and Neil Patrick Harris. Writer/director George Jacques' sophomore effort (following 2023's 'Black Dog') takes place at a summer camp for children impacted by cancer. It casts Ramsey as Ivy, an unwilling participant in remission, alongside a younger cast with Ruby Stokes, Quinn-Toye, Earl Cave, Conrad Khan, and Jasmine Elcock.
Meanwhile, Carrie Coon and Lily James have joined Ramsey and co-star Odessa Young on the upcoming thriller, 'Harmonia.' Directed by Guy Nattiv, the production from Bleecker Street is expected to release in U.S. theaters sometimes in 2026. Set in the 1980s, the script was co-written by Nattiv and Noa Berman-Herzberg. The story follows sisters Ella (Ramsey) and Jo (Young) as they attempt to rescue their mother (Coon) from a mesmeric cult leader (James).
This time last year, Ramsey was attached to star as the real Samantha Lewthwaite in 'The White Widow' from writer/director Bruce Goodison. Lewthwaite is the widow of the terrorist behind the 2005 London bombings, believed to be responsible for hundreds of deaths. BFI backed the film's development.
In 2023, another fiction based in fact found Ramsey when filmmaker Romola Garai ('Atonement') tapped them to play Barbara Field in 'Monstrous Beauty.' The 17th-century period piece follows a playwright in the court of King Charles II, whose rare medical conditions leaves her covered in hair. Dominic West, Ruth Negga, and Fiona Shaw were also announced. Ramsey has repeatedly voiced their desire to be 'challenged' by new roles and is expected to return for 'The Last of Us' Season 3.
'The Last of Us' is now streaming Season 1 and 2 on HBO.

Billy Joel Reaches A New All-Time High, Decades Into His Career
Billy Joel's name is back in the headlines — and back on the charts — thanks to a new docuseries that details his life story and rise to musical superstardom. Billy Joel: And So It Goes premiered in two parts on HBO in July, and the effects of the popular show can be seen on music rankings in several countries as millions return to not just some of his biggest albums, but also his most successful songs — the ones that turned him into a household name. Joel even manages to reach a new career peak on one list in the United Kingdom as streams of his entire catalog, and of one set in particular, soar. Piano Man – The Very Best Of Peaks Piano Man – The Very Best Of is one of Joel's several compilations that bring together his hit songs. It's the project that regularly appears on the charts in the U.K., and this week it's gaining considerable ground on the Official Albums Streaming ranking. The title lifts from No. 30 to No. 26, and as it ascends, the compilation reaches a new personal best placement. Billy Joel's New Career High Throughout his career, Joel has landed many hit albums in the U.K., but he's only ever reached the Official Albums Streaming chart with one. As Piano Man climbs, the title brings the singer-songwriter to a never-before-seen peak on the list of the most-streamed collections in the country. Nearly 300 Weeks on the Chart and Counting Piano Man debuted on the Official Albums Streaming chart in July 2019, opening at No. 87 before disappearing. A month later, the full-length returned, and in the years since, it has risen and fallen, though it has maintained a steady presence on the tally since July 2021. The set has now spent 284 weeks on the Official Albums Streaming chart. That lengthy stay suggests that while the occasional concert or headline has likely helped it jump to new peaks — as is the case thanks to the docuseries — fans in the U.K. regularly press play not just on the collection, but also on the individual tracks that fuel it. Billy Joel Surgs on Multiple Tallies As it jumps to its new best showing on the Official Albums Streaming chart, Joel's Piano Man can also be found on four other tallies in the same country. The title rises almost 10 spaces on the Official Albums list — the ranking of the 100 most-consumed projects in the U.K. — and returns to three sales-focused lists at the same time.

3 Underrated Netflix Shows to Watch This Weekend (August 8-10): ‘Love Life' and More
If they haven't seen it already, almost everyone will be watching Wednesday season 2, part 1 on Netflix this weekend. As much as we love that series, it's too big of a hit to be called "underrated." Fortunately, Wednesday isn't your only option as you head into the weekend. Watch With Us has selected three underrated Netflix shows to watch this weekend, including Sullivan's Crossing, a series that has proven to be more popular on this streamer than it is on TV. Our other two picks include a former HBO Max original and a miniseries that flew far under the radar three years ago. What to Watch This Weekend: 11 New Movies on Netflix, Prime Video, HBO Max, Hulu and More 'Sullivan's Crossing' (2023 - Present) Sullivan's Crossing season 3 wrapped up in June on The CW, and it's coming to Netflix on Monday, August 11. That means you'll have to wait a few more days to binge the newest episodes, but it's also the perfect opportunity for new fans to catch the first two seasons. There are some similarities between this show and Netflix's other blockbuster romance series, Virgin River. But there are enough differences to enjoy both of them. Morgan Kohan takes the leading role in Sullivan's Crossing as Maggie Sullivan, a talented neurosurgeon whose medical career is in tatters. While regrouping in her hometown, Maggie attempts to bridge the emotional gulf between herself and her estranged father, Harry 'Sully' Sullivan (Scott Patterson). She may even find love again with a local man, California 'Cal' Jones (Chad Michael Murray). Sullivan's Crossing is streaming on Netflix. 'Love Life' (2020 - 2021) Love Life isn't the first HBO-produced series to make the leap to Netflix, but it's still a little unusual to see a former HBO Max exclusive show resurface after being scrubbed from its platform of origin. This is a romantic comedy anthology that features a different main character in each of its two seasons. Anna Kendrick headlined season 1 as Darby Carter, a young woman with a lot of romantic entanglements and not a lot of commitment. William Jackson Harper took the spotlight in season 2 as Marcus Watkins, a man who had his own journey to make while looking for his romantic soulmate. There are some small connections between the two seasons, but each story largely stands alone. We suspect it will do very well at Netflix. Love Life is streaming on Netflix. 'Titans: The Rise of Hollywood' (2022) The history of Hollywood goes back even further than most people realize. Titans: The Rise of Hollywood winds the clock back to the end of the 19th century and the earliest days of cinema as we know it through the eyes of Adolph Zukor (James M. Reilly), one of the cofounders of Paramount Pictures. And the narrative flows through the early 20th century up to the innovation of sound in film nearly 100 years ago. 3 Underrated Hulu Movies to Watch This Weekend (August 8-10): 'Ready or Not' and More Perhaps the real surprise for some is the way that Hollywood's origin is also an immigrant story. Through Zukor and other historical figures, the movie industry became more than just a novelty. But even in Tinseltown's earliest days, making movies was a cutthroat business. Titans: The Rise of Hollywood is streaming on Netflix.

Carrie Coon, Morgan Spector, Denée Benton, and more ‘The Gilded Age' instant Emmy predictions as Season 3 ends
A near death. Two shocking engagements. Sisters finally reconciling. The Gilded Age Season 3 is officially behind us, which means it's the perfect time to dive into its future Emmy chances. Remember, the Television Academy's eligibility period runs from June 1 of one year to May 31 of the next, which means the third season of HBO's buzzy, soapy costume drama will contend at the 2026 Emmys. The eight-episode installment wrapped on Sunday to great fanfare, and a fourth season has already been ordered. More from Gold Derby 'There were places I had to go that I'd never gone before': Chloë Sevigny on bold career choices, polarizing characters, and 'Monsters' 'This project is a filmmaker's dream': Everything to know about 'Mr. Scorsese' docuseries as trailer drops In the Season 3 finale, George Russell (Morgan Spector) survives a gunshot wound thanks to the quick work of Dr. William Kirkland (Jordan Donica), who happened to be next door visiting his love interest, Peggy Scott (Denée Benton). Despite the violence temporarily bringing George and Bertha Russell (Carrie Coon) together, he ultimately decides to separate from his wife because of the way she always puts her own interests ahead of his — i.e., forcing Gladys Russell (Taissa Farmiga) to marry Duke Hector Vere (Ben Lamb) against her will. As for the other Russell child, Larry (Harry Richardson), he and Marian Brook (Louisa Jacobson) make up after their argument regarding truthfulness. Elsewhere in the last episode, Agnes van Rhijn (Christine Baranski) finally acknowledges that her sister, Ada Brook Forte (Cynthia Nixon), is indeed the head of the household. William proposes to Peggy, choosing to embrace her checkered past rather than run from it, which will no doubt infuriate his busy-body mother, Elizabeth Kirkland (Phylicia Rashad). And Oscar van Rhijn (Blake Ritson) suggests a marriage of opportunity with Enid Winterton (Kelley Curran) so that they can excel in society using his contacts and her wealth. (Don't worry, they'll sleep at separate homes.) Whew! Got all that? Here are our instant Emmy predictions for The Gilded Age Season 3: DRAMA SERIES The Gilded Age was snubbed in this top category for its first season, but received a bid for Season 2 in 2024, where it lost to Shōgun. The costume drama continues to rise in popularity and critical acclaim, so it seems like a shoo-in for it to take one of the eight slots for Season 3, particularly since so many of the current Best Drama Series nominees (Andor, The Last of Us, Severance, and The White Lotus) are not expected to return prior to the May 31 cut-off date. LEAD ACTING While most of the ensemble members submit as supporting players, Spector and Coon campaigned in the lead categories for Season 2, resulting in a Best Drama Actress bid for Coon. In Season 3, the Russells' marriage takes center stage as George and Bertha experience a major road bump after she forces their daughter to marry the duke. The emotional scene where she breaks down in tears after he's shot in the chest is also one that should stick in voters' minds a year from now. Coon is currently nominated for The White Lotus in the supporting category, so she's clearly an Emmy favorite. (Gold Derby is predicting she will win.) SUPPORTING ACTING The entire ensemble of 34 performers was nominated at the 2024 Screen Actors Guild, signifying its strength with the industry's acting branch. Dozens of stars are now eligible at the Emmys in the supporting races, including most notably Baranski, who received a bid for Season 2, and Nixon, whose role in Season 3 included dealing with her husband's death and becoming the new person in charge of the house. Benton is also a stand-out this year for her character's arc of being bedridden from illness and then falling in love with her doctor. Donna Murphy as Caroline Astor and Kelli O'Hara as Aurora Fane both challenged the status quo with their storylines involving different aspects of divorce. And we have our eye on a pair of recurring guest stars who appear in too many episodes to be eligible for guest: Rashad as William's mother, and Audra McDonald as Peggy's mother. GUEST ACTING Per the Emmy rules, only people who appear in fewer than 50 percent of the episodes can compete here, which drastically narrows down the field since so many actors recur throughout the entire season. Four eligible guest stars worthy of Emmy's attention include Bill Camp as J. P. Morgan, a contemporary of George's; Nathan Lane as Ward McAllister, the ostracized man of influence; Merritt Wever as Monica O'Brien, Bertha's feisty sister; and Dylan Baker as Dr. Logan, who tends to George's gunshot wound. 'This season is shaping up to be its best. The actors always have such great chemistry . Carrie Coon continues eating up whenever she is on screen and she never disappoints, and she has already given Emmy worthy performances in these first three episodes. Can't wait to see what she has next to do!' Sab227 in the topic: The Gilded Age (Season 3) – HBOJuly 7, 2025 at 9:51 am WRITING AND DIRECTING For the first two seasons, The Gilded Age was snubbed in the writing and directing categories, but it could make a comeback next year, especially with so many current nominees not returning in time. All eight episodes were written by Julian Fellowes (who won two Emmys for writing and producing Downton Abbey) and Sonja Warfield. And Season 3's directing duties were split between Michael Engler, Deborah Kampmeier, and Salli Richardson Whitfield, the latter being a former directing nominee for Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty. CRAFTS The period drama has already won an Emmy for production design (2022), and was additionally nominated for hairstyling and costumes (2024). Expect The Gilded Age to be competitive in those three races in 2026, as well as for categories like casting, cinematography, makeup, music, picture editing, sound editing, and sound mixing.
